Smocon Toronto '11 - August 5th to 7th - WON BY wait nvm

People flew to Vegas for the weekend for Smocon08, it's not out of the realm of possibility.

With current dates I probably/definitely won't be able to make it.

It's worth noting that taste of the danforth is going on while you guys are here (sort of has to do with why I won't be there). If you enjoy walking down a super crowded street eating greek food it's pretty good. The danforth isn't as greek as it was, and there's a lot more east Asian and chinese restaurants moving in, so it doesn't feel like quite as much of a central theme of greek festival anymore but it's still something you could do! And there is still delicious food! (apparently the danforth has really amazing greek food. I just assumed all greek food was this good, but my sister says one of the worst parts of montreal is the complete lack of any greek food nearly as good as the danforth)
 
Is it better than the Taste of Little Italy festival because that was really underwhelming =[ All they did was open up the streets a little bit to allow for more patio space and half the places weren't even Italian!
 
I just love Greek food, and there are some great restaurants there. I also happen to like komboloi which are similar to prayer beads but meant to fidget with (I have three).

I suggest a lunch on one of the days, there are some events, the Second City Improv was fun to watch and I think they had "So You Think You Can Dance Canada" there last year but I didn't care.
 
k this is a bad weekend for me, I'm busy on the Sunday and I may be working the friday/saturday but I'll find out for sure asap.
 
Last few times I went to the taste of the Danforth, it sucked. It use to be really good, but now it's just 'okay' now (i.e. use to be more places to get food). Despite that it gets more crowded every year (so it's very easy to get lost if we're in a group), but I guess it would be good for people to experience it.
 
Count me as a maybe now. I'm pretty low on funds, especially with the upcoming Europe trip. It's possible I won't be able to swing this.

Well it should be $25 - $30 to stay the night from Saturday to Sunday + cost of food/drinks and anything we do.
 
i was gonna suggest we should hit up a sushi place at some point since we were apparently ganna get sushi at indianapolis but it never happened

but if everyone wants greek food im down
 
Totally just remembered a friends birthday party on the 6th, ugh. Not to mention I need to have my own birthday celebrations around then, so this is most likely a no from me.

I can still try to come down for an afternoon to shop/sesh or whatever, but don't count on it
