Open Challenge! 3v3 Singles!
NFE pokes ONLY!
2 day DQ
1 recovery, 5 chills

Arena: Eeny-meeny-miny-this one:
This joyous and active arena is ripe with people, and berries! Trade passes naturally along the streets connecting this commercial cacophony. Berries, food, clothes, toys, all products exchange hands here in the market. The floor is asphalt, almost impossible to dig in and hard on the skin. The market is bustling right now, the midmorning light awakening both sellers and shoppers alike! They've been kind enough to clear a decently large circle for your battle, with a 30 foot diameter. Spectators are lined up along the sides to watch, and maybe even provide some support with berries or other goods!

Summary: Asphalt floor is almost impossible to dig into, and if a Pokemon makes any contact on the floor that would involve scraping it's skin across it takes an extra 2 HP loss. There's a 20% chance each round that a spectator will throw a berry at one participant, which they can use to their advantage. The berries are (Cheri, Chesto, Pecha, Rawst, Aspear, Leppa, or Oran, choice of which is random) No water nearby, and the time is midmorning.

EDIT: Coolio, Albinoloon.
Will take this

One ability, no items, switch=OK

Figured I'd bump this onto a fresh page while my internet was cooperating.
Still looking for a ref.

Challenging dogfish44. Whoever refs this MUST be good with flavor and willing to ref in a non-realistic manner!

Training Battle

Arena: The Theater of Daring Exploits!

Ah, the Theater of Daring Exploits! Being in here gives one an incredible sense of nostalgia; like the first battles ever conducted (but without burns being broken and such shite as six turn sleep.)

Indeed, this locale is well-known for its amazing entertainment-everyone is always doing dashing exploits of the mightiest roleplaying skill around. Dodging, for example, works entirely on the discretion of the ref while here, and all swashbuckling exploits tend to be easier to pull off (i.e. roleplaying feats). However, because a drawn-out battle is an epic one, all attacks deal 2/3's of their normal damage, except for critical blows, because critical blows are exciting.

Players start on the stage, a rectangle of about 50 feet in width and justs 30 feet from the wall. It is covered in polished faux-wood planks. Players can climb to the balcony, which is 10 feet above the stage's middle, 20 feet in length, and juts 10 feet from the wall. Switching in and out is done by exiting the stage-you have to mention "Exit, stage left/right!" when you want to switch out a Pokemon.

There's all sorts of props for moves available off stage (along with a conspicuously placed oven, washing machine, fridge, fan, and lawnmower,) and the theater is proofed against earthquakes. (Nothing inside the fourth wall hurts outside the fourth wall, except for the battlers' sharpened wits.) In fact, you can even dig up the floor-we've got the budget to make it up!

tl;dr version: Basically a ref discretion stage. Dodging is entirely ref discretion based [keep in mind it should NOT be a game breaker-for example, the archaic "have 60% of the attack miss a mon using Agility to evade"], and overall the arena should promote dashing and exciting roleplay maneuvers over other styles. All attacks do 2/3's of normal damage, except for critical hits. The stage is 50 feet wide and 30 feet deep, the balcony is 10 feet above the stage, 20 feet long and juts 10 feet from the wall. All moves available, Rotom can shift appliances, roleplaying is HIGHLY encouraged. Uncreative/purely realistic refs/Deck Knight need not apply-this isn't supposed to be deterministic OR realistic.

SPECIFIC EDIT: Just in case I have to mention this, though 90% of people do it...Wifi clause is on.

I suppose I should accept this. This promises to be entertaining, to say the least.

Arena: I wanna be the guy

Yup, right out of THAT game. The one that everyone bites their computer, throws their mouse, and trolls everyone with. The rules are simple. Every move does no damage, and at the end of every round, the ref can choose to do whatever they want to harm any pokemon. Spikes, moon, fruit, anything. If any of these things touch you, then you automatically lose a pokemon. BUT, you can use your attacks to send items away from you, assuming you're not stupid enough to touch them. If anything touches you, beyond the ground, then your pokemon does not just faint. They explode in a bloody mess, which if a foe is close enough, can cause THEM to explode. They can also decide what's on the ground that you should avoid, falling, traps, anything they desire.

Basics:
Can't hurt your foe. (Though knockback is full)
Can only be KO'd by whatever the ref throws at you, and energy KO.
If close enough to foe when pokemon dies, explosion will kill you.
Attacks can be used to knock items away/towards others/knocking others into attacks.

I'd ask for a ref who's played this game, as they'd know all the torture and death it gives, but it's not required.
