I also find the new DW abilities to be trolls.

Magic Gaurd Zam isn't trolling, its incredible. I've actually found a Focus Sash to be the most effective item, not a Life Orb. Taking a hit without a Sub up is incredible for it, and now that entry hazards, Hail, Burn, and Toxic don't mean shit to it, it will always be able to take a hit and (hopefully) KO, or at worst majorly dent, a sweeper like Yanmega or Lilligane, allowing something else like Primeape, Entei, etc. to easily clean up.

Sableye, Volbeat, and Illumise however? Total trolling.

Yeah Sableye is gonna be a huge pain in the ass all together, in any tier it's available. Taunt + WoW Sableye will also decimate most stall quite easily. On the bright side though, it's usage should see dramatic increase so hopefully it won't spend too much time wreaking havoc in RU. As for Alakazam, a nice boost to an already good Pokemon.

Personally I have found that if you have someone offensive that Sableye can't burn, then he can't really do much to them. Floatzel and Entei being good examples. Specifically with Floatzel, since he has the option of Swift Swim, many people don't realize that he is immune to Burn, and may give you an opportunity to ignore a Will-o-Wisp and Taunt Sableye right back. And, as I'm sure you know, a Taunted Sableye is useless.

Can't wait for the speed creep to eventually force all Sableye to be max speed Timid

I like Prankster Volbeat i just haven't found a team that works well with it. +6 in two turns then baton passing it is absurd. Especially with the right receiver.

try sash alakazam for a recipient, ironic how the released pokemon work well together.

I am thinking Walerin has to go or just Hail in general.
It would be great to see a weatherless meta game and RU is the closest it gets.

Also I don't know why but sceptile is going UU. It has paper defenses and many things can KO it with ease.

Also I get quiet annoyed with Wish Alamaromna. That thing is the biggest stalker ever!

Since when is Sceptile UU???

He probably meant that once the Tier's update, Sceptile will be UU.
Not sure if that's true, but that's what I understand.
Anyway, what do you guys think of Persian?
I use a set of:
Persian (M) @ Silk Scarf Trait: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Fake Out
- U-turn
- Protect
- Taunt

And it works nicely. Being able to scout and prevent annoying hazards is pretty nice. I love the momentum it brings.

I've always found Persian underwhelming, myself. It's just q little too weak, although a "Imma piss you off" lead with Switcheroo, Hypnosis, Knock Off, and Taunt/Uturn could have value to screw the opponent.

The thing is, people see it coming. Like Uxie, even though most people know what a lead Uxie is gonna do, Uxie still works. Persian is just too unreliable of a lead.

Not to burst your bubble but... the stats were made official (RD quit I guess), So Sceptile EDIT: Sceptile isn't leaving., Gastrodon (come on Thundurus, get banned so we can have Gastrodon back!!) and Cress (GOOD RIDDANCE) are gone when they update.

@Heysup yeeeah... I derped. Big time.

I may be missing something but isn't Sceptile around ~2.61 in UU...meaning it's staying put in RU?

I'm happy Cresselia is gone and surprised that medicham stayed so low in UU.

EDIT: 3.41 > 2.61, I'm not aware of any changes...

With the suspect tests being made official I was rather concerned when I realized Gastrodon would soon be gone. Then I decided to test Mantine. To my surprise in the little I've seen of it it has performed admirably in the role of general special attacker check, and rain counter/check. Completely stops Yanmega as Mega cant be tailor made to kill it and full stops Ludicolo under rain, killing both with a STAB HP Flying. I'm currently not even running max SpD but am adding a bit of defense and SpA EV's to maximize power and bulk as Cryo is there as back up special wall. Only issue with is the lack of reliable recovery but all that means I that I can run Scald/HP Flying/Toxic/Ice Beam or other instead.

I'm curious to see whether Hippowdown drops to UU which means Hippopotas will drop to RU. Im also curious to see if Abomasnow is banned (probably not) or moves up (definetely not) which means Snover will rise adn hail wont be in the metagam anymore. I'm hoping sand doesnt come down. Dugtrio/ Gigalith with Sand Force would be scary. I wonder if Drilbur would be viable; Rock Slide is great considering the large amount of rock weak Pokes and it still outspeeds most of the tier. 88 attack isnt to bad in RU and he can still break through most walls with Swords Dance. He does miss out on a steel typing which means he can be Toxic'd and doesnt resist bug but it means he wont take super effective damage from all the Mach Punches in the tier. Eviolite does mean he can take some hits but LO might be superior considering such a low attack stats. 60/40/45 defensive stats are sooo bad though.

Hmmm. I completely neglected Sandslash, superior to Drillbur in every way. Unfortunately, if Sandstorm does come down he will be suspect pretty quickly

All theorymon though

Well, Hippowdon is most likely going to get banned from UU, so (hopefully) Hippopotas won't be in RU range long enough to officially drop. And with Abomasnow, the way things are going, Snow Cloak will probably get banned before Snow Warning does.

Actually, I've found Sableye to be a lot less annoying than first made out to be. Porygon-Z (and I presume Yanmega) just walk right over it. Burn? Fuck dat, I'm special! Confusion is the only thing it can really do.

How could Hippowdon become BL if no one really objects to hippopotas? The main difference is that now you could say sand teams will have 6 viable pokes instead of 5+whatever gimmick hippopotas runs.

Also, goodbye Blastoise old friend, I'll miss you. Now I have a decision to make, find a spinner, or replace him with a sp def wall, most likely mantine to check rain/sp. attackers.

Hippowdown has a 112 attack stat which means he can wreck a lot of things in UU; especially with his great STAB and coverage with Stone Edge. His low speed sucks but its not like it can be revenged killed with some of the highest HP and Defense stats in the tier. His ability is just icing on the cake and pushes him past Rhyperior but thats for a different thread.

On the note of Blastoises absence, a lot of bulky water get there time in the spotlight. Let's see there's:

Poliwrath (really underestimated and loves how easy hazards are to get up and appreciates the lack of Ghosts like Jellicent, cri[ppled by Sableye but should generally be using a Sub set.)

Tentacool (Bulky with Eviolite but really harcd to maintain with no recovery outside of Rest, outclassed by Qwilfish as a whole)

Slowpoke?/ Slowking (I have never tried Slowpoke but I imagine it is decent with instant recovery and great bulk, probably outclassed by Jellicent considering all the bug types in the tier. This loosely applies to Slowking too)

Seadra? (may seem really wierd but nice base defenisive stats with Eviolite is awesome. Once again probably outclassed by Fellicent but thought I would try)

Staryu? (With Blastoise gone this is the next best thing, Recover is awesome and Rapid Spin gives it great utility in conjuction with Eviolite and nice speed and isnt COMPLETELY helpless with 70 Sp. Atk like other Eviolite pokes

Lapras (Like a less bulky Walrein that can put offensive pressure on the opponent but I'd say outclassed by Walrein even outside of hail.

Omastar/ Omanyte: (Omastar has great bulk and decent typing with all the bugs in the tier but will be banned soon so Omanyte is a pretty good alternastive. All 3 hazards is awesome and gets Knock Off to fuck with other Eviolite users.)

Qwilfish: (Used it on a lot of teams and its typing is great and with Intimidate can set up a lot of hazards)

Mantine: (amazing special bulk and can check Yanmega and many special attackers)

Marshtomp: (I have seen this guy on a couple teams and shows promise, definetely should be used with Rest and Toxic considering no recovery and vulnerability to Toxic. It's typing is nice and gets SR iirc)

Ludicolo/ Lombre (nice typing and nice bulk makes them viable subseeders but is eaten alive by all the bugs in the tier)

Walrein/ Sealeo: (generally seen as a hail abuser but nice typing and noce bulk make it a potent overall wall)

Gastrodon: (will probably be moving up soon but amazing fro now in RU. You should know why by now; great typing, Recover, Storm Drain yada yada.)

Seismotoad (may be interesting but probably outclassed)

Frillish (Tried and is really good with Recover and its typing is amazing. Great bulk means it can take special hits all day)

Alomamola: (Really interesting, great physical bulk and HP and there a lot of Eviolite pokes that really appreciate the Wish.)

Fuck theres a lot of water types, Feraligatr poses a real threat with Encourage or DD and should be used more, I wann test out Wailord (Scarf Water Spout), Samurott and Simisear also seem somewhat promising.
