Well, here it is, Regice. Not much has changed for this big block of ice since it came out. CBHera scares it real bad with STABed Close Combat but that is about it.

Base stats. 80/50/100/100/200/50 (speed last)

All STABs in Bold
Special movepool (Level-up first):
Icy Wind (lol)
Ancient Power
Charge Beam
Zap Cannon (lol)
Ice Beam :)
Hyper Beam
Hidden Power
Blizzard
Thunderbolt
Thunder
Shock Wave (lol)
Focus Blast
Flash Cannon

Pretty big. But Explosion should be mentioned too. It can BoltBeam

Support Movepool:
Curse
Amnesia
Lock On
Toxic
Hail
Protect
Rain Dance
Safegaurd
Frustration
Double Team
Rest
Thunder Wave
Psych Up
Sleep Talk

Equaly impressive. Most notable being Thunder Wave and Psych Up. And it can RestTalk.

Set name: Old Standred

I use this all the time on Netbattle and it will kick your sorry butt before you can even touch the icy box.

Set Name: RegySpecs

Regice @ Leftovers
Calm Nature (+SpD, -Atk)
252 HP, 56 SpA, 200 SpD
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

I guess this is the most effective moveset, we all know Ice is a bad defensive type but well at least it has an useful Ice resistance.

Too bad it doesn't have Pressure as its Ability, SleepTalk + nice defenses is a nice place for Pressure -_-

Counters CSMence BTW, even if it has Fire Blast, it's very unlikely to 2KO, but Flamethrower is the standard , it also does well against Timid Azelves, especially if they lack Flamethrower

But after a Nasty Plot and with Life Orb, Azelf's Psychic has chances to 2KO Regice :S

How good would it be with a Pseudo-Marvel Scale ability that increases SpD when slept?

It's not only Heracross. Weavile, Rhyperior, Gyarados, Salamence, and Garchomp all have the potential to counter it. Resttalking versions could possibly be stalled by Ludicolo, or Blissey as well

It lost some potential though. The thing is, it needs a recovery move to have any potential at all, so it's forced to Resttalk

Regice's STAB Ice Beam hurts a lot of the things that 'counter' it, which helps. However, it didn't get anything new and now with Stealth Rock and all these new special sweepers Regice will have a hard time staying alive.

You'll know what I'm talking about when I say one word: prediction.Gyarados and Garchomp can switch on a Ice Beam or Thunderbolt respectively and threaten easily with Stone Edge, especially with his crummy Defense stat. Although it has lower base speed, I'm sure bulky Rhyperior can survive a Ice Beam and KO with Stone Edge as well, though not in the switch-in. A counter is not really a counter unless you have some skill

Added to that, if the random Resttalking screws you over, then it's all over for Regice. Added to that, the newer walls like Bronzong and Cresselia completely mess it up and can set up on it

Reviving this thread. I would like to point out that regice counters the three of the big four of DP (Specs Mence, Gyarados, Garchomp) and can explode all over the big four's collective whore blissey, which will do between 52 and 61% damage from a min attack sassy regice. Of course, you probably wont want to explode as soon as blissey comes out, which would lose you your counter, but it's there if you really need to get blissey out of the way for a sweep. It's also your optimal move if your opponent used stealth rock, since stealth rock means regice wont be able to switch in again and still pose a threat. This is only conjecture of course, based purely on calculations. I will be field testing regice in the DP metagame shortly, once I've ev trained mine.

Regice will survive adamant maxed attack, Dragon Danced Gyardos Stone Edge 100% of the time, barring a critical hit, and then paralyze it with thunder wave, or kill it with thunderbolt. Thunder wave is an option since gyarados wont taunt you fearing the thunderbolt. Paralyze will cripple any chances gyarados has of sweeping, and having thunderwave on regice will give your team para support, while thunderbolt is only helpful against gyarados and some water types. Regice with 172 hp evs and max defense evs will survive swords danced earthquake from garchomp 100% and OHKO with Ice Beam. Regice cant switch into either of the choice users Outrages, but it can survive one hit+ stealth rocks, so it can be a good revenge killer. Adamant Choice Banded Dragon Claw from Salamence will 2hko so Regice can't switch into that either.

All damage calcs were done using Netbattle and MetalKid's calc for explosion.

edit: Looked at the calculations for thunderbolt again and realized that it does OHKO bulky gyarados, so I fixed that.

Regice is working amazingly for me, holds its own against special attacks, nice switch in on many things, just awesome. However, some problems do arise like mentioned before, but still, it's amazing
