Dammit I want to attend, but teleporters haven't been invented yet v_v
GL peoples, even though I don't know any of you!

If you're playing for prizes, you're doing it wrong. You should be playing for pride. Prizes get used up, pride lasts forever.

He only says this because he hasn't won anything in years.

I've decided. I'm taking my talents to TCG instead.

inb4 YOU MUST BE FOOLING CYBERTRON. Unfornately, these prizes do seem a bit inferior to those from prior years. The trip is cool, but a trophy that isn't acrylic was also be neat.

It's an acrylic trophy. It's the exact same one from Regionals but larger.

I'm also not kidding, if I do well enough in TCG on Day 1, I might just not play VGC.

The soft cap of 540 for Masters Division kind of scares me, since I probably won't be registering until Saturday morning.. It'll be interesting to see just how many people show up.

Only Top 4. :/ That is kind of a downer. Anyone who gets Top 8 should get one a trip to beautiful Hawaii. I can't say I didn't see it coming, though. They didn't give away the trips for European Nationals, so, yeah.

5th-8th invites would blow a good deal more money or their part it would be cool but is also unrealistic. 5th-8th/16th being allowed to play at Hawaii and not having to do the LCQ would be fair though, doesn't really blow any more of their cash and still rewards the skilled players.

invites would cost them nothing. Paid trips would.

Invites are not the same thing as travel allowances. I said it should be Top 4 trips and Top 8 invites this year at least.

Oh, I am sorry for phrasing it wrong, this is exactly what I thought. There's no way a would take a trip to Hawaii just for a chance to grind in, way to expensive.

I'm going to attempt to see if I can go. Would be cool to travel out for a few days to play some Pokemon. I'd have to figure shit out of course, but should be legit.

If I do attend, I will be competing in the Masters Divison. TAD, if I play you, can we both agree not to bring Ferro again? :]

Edit: Anyone know any hotels in the area? where are most people staying?

Europe is not a country. The United States is a country. Canada is a country. Comparing our number of invites to the entire continent of Europe doesn't even make sense.

It's also possibly guys that they DON'T have a World LCQ and that the reason that Worlds invites aren't included on the list is that they don't exist. They had open nationals this year, so it isn't entirely unrealistic.

Nah it's specifically specified in the prize package that an Invite to play is included. Worlds has always been a closed event for TCG while Nats has always been open. I don't see why ours would be any different. Also I'd like to take this opportunity to blame Canada for stealing 4 of our invites. Thanks (Canada).
