The Legend of Korra (Spoilers ITT)

Oh I love Pabu so much, that's the most adorable thing in the world

But where do the Equalists are getting all that electricity?, it seems like they're only able to get it trough the lighting of the Firebenders which means getting rid of them is also getting rid of their most powerful weapons?

PS: Is there a gif of Pabu going all Ty Lee?

Fairly certain they have batteries or something, I mean the one wears a backpack it looks like, and they do have cars...it only really seems like heavy manufacturing needing lots of electricity uses firebenders for it, like how Mako was working in the factory.

A double episode sounds fantastic, and I had just assumed that Korra had effectively 'run out' of the water that she was using to make the whirlpool.

Also I have Photoshop and could probably make gifs from the videos if I can find a tutorial and a place to download them in MOV/AVI/MPEG format.

Well if that were the case (i never heard / saw that information), that suggests there is someone behind amon. In other words he is just a figurehead to the movement that is truly run by others. Maybe that would explain how he was getting all the cash to buy those electric weapons for his minions. Not to mention it would explain how he got the ability to take away bending...

That absolutely screams Hiroshi Sato to me, and to be honest I wouldn't be surprised if he was involved with the equalist movement somehow.

Holy shit that was an amazing episode. That last fight scene was just brilliant. I mean, I can't even express how badass it was.

The fact that Sato received a loan from a yet unnamed person should put him as a possible tool of this man behind the man in the mask. It's hard to tell at this point really.

As for this episode and the charkras it could be linked but it's not being as obvious about it as the last two episodes were, they could claim this episode was part of unlocking the third chakra and I'd accept that.

I'd like to see some fallout of what happens to benders after they lose their bending. Because right now only evil people have had it happen to them, but if they do it could also answer another of the chakras theories in the show. Also really hoping for more of the dystopia city going on, if the show gets to a point where benders willingly give up their bending in the first season I'll be very impressed.

Also, isn't Asami a little... suspect to any of you guys? The entire episode that we get introduced to her, I was thinking "this is way too easy, she's totally fem fatalle, GET OUT OF THERE MAN" and then nothing happened. Sato totally strikes me as suspicious.

Depends, with Asami they could go the more cliched "secretly evil" route, but I'm hoping it just gets played straight and she ends up being Mako's love interest rather, thus subverting the normal cliche route of her being immediately suspect just because everyone's expecting the evil chick. Ditto with Sato as well (I think he's more likable than evil), though more than likely he'll end up being the unwitting pawn and likely end up siding with team korra anyways after.

Momo had some great moments in the swamp.

Also I really hope Naga gets some more spotlight, such an amazing character.

This part nearly made me jizz myself

Also, is anyone else getting frustrated that Korra just doesn't go into fucking Avatar mode and wreck the Equalists' shit already?

I think Korra needs to find her spirituality before she'll be able to access the Avatar State. I think the reason Aang reflexively went into the Avatar State was because he was so in-tune with his own spirituality, and Korra won't slip into it until she's grown a bit as a character.

^that and also Korra was never in any "I'm going to die" situations like Aang went through when he became dormant for 100 years. I'm sure when that happens Korra would trigger the avatar state.

I have a suspicion that Tarrlok may be somewhat related to the equalists or possibly even amon himself. Given their shady methods of persuasion, never appearing together on the same scene, the rather...loss/loss situation for the pro-bending arena (idk it's hard to describe), and Korra's abrupt waterbending stop during her chase to the airship...well who knows. It's too early to tell.

There needs to be more lightningbending !__!

How about how quickly he changed his vote to shut down the arena? I mean he was agreeing with Tenzin and then just NOPE LET'S GO AHEAD. rather suspicious imo

oh sweet jesus yes

Until mastered, the Avatar state seems to be pretty much reflexive, it seems activates in life/death situations or under extreme stress/duress (such as when Aang saw Gyatso's corpse). So if anything, the closest Korra has come any of those is when Amon cornered her in what, episode 3 or 4 on the island with the Aang statue (which is a bit of a surprise in ways it didn't go off then, perhaps Amon was being careful to not...I dunno...show "killing intent" or something when doing his whole speech to her).

It's also funny, the whole "oh metal blocking armor protects us from chi attacks" thing gets fucked up by lightning rods/gloves...you'd seriously think they would've been planning for that as well, I mean the equalists aren't unknown in NRC, so why it caught them so badly off guard kinda leads me to think they're dumb. And as metal benders, they still should've had access to earthbending to ward off those attacks too. Personally I think we could use some more traditional earth bending over the lame disc throwing, even metalbending being used to slap around wires and such is kinda eh.
