What are the pros/cons of using Magnezone over Magneton?

Zone's a bit more tanky, while Ton's faster (choice being able to outspeed + Starmie, Tornadus T), is that it?

Actually, Magneton is bulkier than Magnezone(with Eviolite), and faster. Magnezone's base Special Attack is a few points higher.

And what's the reason for running an Eviolite Magneton in OU? :o

I usually run the magnets scarfed as a special sweeper/steel trapper.

The reason is that it's bulkier. Magneton's stats: 50/60/95/120/70/70. It's defenses aren't amazing, but they are boosted with Eviolite. Magnezone's stats: 70/70/115/130/90/60. If you aren't running Eviolite on Magneton, use Zone.

Maybe I phrased my question wrongly. What is a viable Eviolite set for Magneton? IMO the magnets fulfill a very niche role primarily in steel trapping and revenge killing, so running Eviolite doesn't seem logical.

I am currently building a team with NP Celebi and specially defensive Heatrab. I have run out of ideas for a member that can counter NP Thunderus-T, which appears to be a force from my experience on PO.

Steel trapping works because of its ability, not the item it's holding.

I have a question. Is it possible to LEGITIMATELY get a togekiss with aura sphere and air slash? I checked bulbapedia and togekiss learns those moves from the start only and there's no where to get them in the wild and those moves aren't TM's, egg moves, or move tutor moves.

Move Relearner, I believe.

Those are moves that you can learn through the use of a move relearner, using a Heart Scale. It is legal.

Tank Gastrodon is a guy that can counter Thundurus-T, and its addition would form a cool FWG core on your team.

From the current Earthquake page: " In a double or triple battle, this move will hit all Pokemon adjacent to the user. If it hits multiple Pokemon in this way, its Base Power is reduced to 75% of its usual power."

I'm a worrier and look way too much into things, but I'm in the Battle Tower in HG and I'm currently Dugtrio/Gyarados v. Swalot/Fearow.

If my Dugtrio uses Earthquake the only Pokemon that WILL BE HIT would be the Swalot - but the move will 'target' Swalot, Gyarados, and Fearow.

So will the move do 100 base damage or 75 base damage?

I know this is a specific example but I can use this in future scenarios as well. Thanks in advance for any help.

It'll be doing 75, and if you have any other doubles questions they can probably be answered here, bnut if not then the VGC subforum would be the place to go.

Sorry, but not true. ScarfZone can't outspeed a huge number of threats that ScarfTon can. For example, Magneton gets the jump on +1 Adamant Gyarados, Dugtrio, Alakazam, Tornadus-T and all positive nature Base 115s. The difference in Special Attack isn't that big of a deal, since Magneton is still quite strong.

You're right, my bad, I thought Zone wasn't completely outclassed by Magneton.
Life lesson: Never use Zone over Ton.

Magnezone pulls off Choice Specs and SubCharge sets more effectively. It hits harder with Choice Specs than Magneton (and has lower Speed to abuse Analytic if you wish) and it can make more Substitutes because of Leftovers. It can also use dual screens, but that's rare.

Eh. SubCharge isn't that great, but I forgot about Specs. A warning about using Analytic on PS; it only says a mon is trapped if it's, well, trapped. So don't expect to be able to bluff Magnet Pull.

If Imposter Ditto switches in on Regigigas (1) does it have Slow Start activate (2) does it depend on whether Regigigas has Slow Start active, and (3) if it is supposed to activate, is this programmed into PS (because I just switched a Ditto into a Regigigas and the Slow Start message didn't display)?

Also, I kinda asked something similar a little earlier but, if a Pokemon holding a choice item switches in while Magic Room is active, uses a move, uses a second move, and Magic Room ends, is it locked into the first move, the second move, or neither? I know that if Magic Room stops you from being locked into a move then you become locked into it again when the effect ends, but I've never seen the situation I outlined above explained (even if there's a good chance that the result is you get locked into the first move as would be expected).

Speed aside, what are the major hurdles/Pokemon that stop Kyurem from sweeping?
Speed. Also pretty bad offensive and defensive typing with redundant STAB and being weak to priority. Weakness to Stealth Rock and limited boosting capabilities outside of Hone Claws also suck. Pressure isn't very good for Kyurem and doesn't assist it in attempting to sweep

Why is regigigigas not used in Ou as a defensive mon? He has great support moves and is bulky.
4 moveslot syndrome, being outsped and not being able to do reasonable damage for 5 turns. And there a lot of Pokémon that share support moves with Regigigas that might also have a good utility or defensive move like Scald, U-Turn, or Recover

(1) Yes
(2) No because Ditto just gained the ability
(3) PS has glitches and might not always be dead accurate especially with obscure scenarios like this
