The Official "Complain about being beat by Seattle Defense" Thread

god, my team

Richardson averaging barely over 2 yards per carry...Bush has 4 yards on 4 carries.......

Edit: LOL Shonn Greene every other week in fantasy: 15, 2, 4, 3, 3

Shonn Greene when he plays me in fantasy: 22 and counting

FUN SEASON SO FAR

I'm pretty sure the Dolphins' D is bugged, they had 3 sacks and a fumble recovery and only allowed 14 points. I'm not sure of the specifics for espn leagues but that should be something like 5-10 points.

This game in my money leagues has been pathetic. He's starting Turner, Crabtree, Hartline, and Austin (combined 8 points, Crabtree is still playing) and I'm starting Bowe, Charles, and Smith (combined 8 points, Smith is still playing). The winner of this game is going to have about 50 points, and the average in this league is about 75 points.

so yea the houston defense had to pick this week to suck and jordy nelson had to pick this week to explode.

cool. cool.

Hi I'd like to put in a complaint to the "Complaint Department"....it is about the fucking Texans d, which took me from a very likely win to a near certain loss in putrid fashion. Now I have to rely on Malcolm Floyd :-(

At least it means the Texans might be reeling vs my Ravens next week

Edit: did the Texans d just get a pick 6? If so I really should complain more often lol

It was a punt block for a TD but same difference fantasy scoring-wise. And Malcolm Floyd is pretty good assuming you don't need a Nelson-esque performance out of him.

Meanwhile, I continue to flounder as I will likely finish 1-3 yet again on the week. Nugget Bridge league team only one with a winning record, not like my teams are even bad... :(

Hi, I'd like to submit a complaint over David Akers missing two field goals that were essentially chip shots for someone like Akers.

Can everyone just shut the fuck up?

We all are going to have to face BYEs up until Week 12. And for those BYEs we're probably going to play a lot of home run/hail mary players. This is why you end up facing random 34 point Shonn Greene days or out of nowhere 18 point Josh Gordon days. GET OVER IT.

Every year someone is going to get injuries. It's completely random. Example: Shaun Alexander after his MVP year. Picking Frank Gore and Ryan Grant after their break out seasons in like 2008. Steve Slaton after his rookie year. Who cares?

Fantasy is 100% luck based on the schedule. You're not going to account for the schedule of each of your players every week when you draft. You also can't account for your opponent's schedule every week. And you also can't account for who you're ever going to play each week until AFTER you draft. This is why fantasy is random and there's always "upsets." This is why Mikel Leshoure probably shouldn't be owned in any league. Have you seen the Lion's schedule?

So yeah just inserting my complaint of everyone also being a fucking annoying bitch ass complaining (BAN ME PLEASE) about something they have no control over.

I would like to second this complaint.

And Michael Turner needs to get the lead out. And then he does the week I bench him. And then he sucks the week I start him again rageragerage

Also,

Lolcat is tied with opponent having Houston's D.

Houston's D scores punt block TD.

Now Lolcat is losing by 8 with Demaryius Thomas left against Antonio Gates.

It's winnable, but Demaryius better have a damn good game...

Only need 13 points so it's definitely doable!

@ Mop while you have brought up Nelson Mr. E, are you going to finally acknowledge that you ripped the absolute fuck out of Shakeitup by getting him and Cutler for Hawkins or are you gonna play the "Hawkins was better in the first two weeks" game again? Don't get me wrong if I were in your position I'd have been all over the trade too Lol.

To prove how much I don't care for Jordy and how much I think he truly sucks ball, I will drop him when Greg Jennings returns against the Rams. Cutler was also cut the second the trade was completed. That last game was an absolute fluke. When you can only manage 3 points against THE COLTS the week before, you are no better than a hail mary play.

1pt for 14 points allowed.

2pts for 2 fumble recoveries.

3pts for 3 sacks.

-5pts for 450-499 yards allowed.

so it has been corrected to 1pt.

i just need Eric Decker to catch like 4 touch downs and get like 300 yards receiving.

nbd.

It's difficult to say Nelson shouldn't be scoring well weekly when he's the #2 WR on arguably the most talented offense in the league with no running game, his #1 WR injured and his #1 TE injured/doing even worse than he is. His explosion this week was pretty fluky but probably less than his terrible performance up until now. Makes me feel suddenly much worse about trading him off in the NB league, then again I also feel much less bad about having Shonne Greene as a #3 RB/flex play. I benched him (and Greene) in my friend's ESPN league though. -_-

Consistency is another matter but there aren't even enough to go around to fill everyone's WR1 slot. WRs are just generally not consistent because even if they're a team's preferred receiving target, the fact is there are 2-4 other guys on the field that could instead get the ball on any given passing play. Hell, both Randall Cobb (#4 and returner) and James Jones (#3) are top ten WRs in League A right now and honestly who the fuck expected that? ... Amusingly, Nelson himself is ninth after this week, pending Thomas' performance on MNF. So yeah.

Haha yes, this is awesome. I just aquired Jordy Nelson and Greg Jennings this weekend. Possibly the best WR handcuff when? You just can't go wrong with AR

XD Rivers has literally been going -backwards- in the second half. I have him but the game was out of reach anyway so it doesn't matter what he does. I don't think I've ever seen such a bipolar QB in a fantasy sense...

so I'm 3-3 in both smogon fantasy leagues, which is ok I guess. I'll need luck to get into playoffs in league A but I think my team should be good enough for league B.

My main issue is sucking at picking Ds weekly...I've only reached the average d points in a week like once in 6 weeks (last week) (maybe twice I forget)...but yea, any techniques you guys use beyond holistic "playing bad offense" measurement? Cause I attempt that yet get wrecked weekly....Two of my losses have been due to the point differential in D, so it's not like this slot is moot.

When looking for defenses, I generally consider their overall offensive quality as well as special situations related to injury, ie backup or rookie QBs playing. Any defense playing against the Chefs, Jaguars, or Raiders is usually a safe bet. Also teams with bad offensive lines are fodder for fantasy defenses, so a defense playing against Pittsburgh can be a good play. Offensive powerhouse teams like the Packers and Patriots usually force teams to play from behind, making them take more risks and usually leading to more turnovers, so those can be solid options as well. Finally, some teams are just turnover machines, so whoever is playing the Eagles will usually get you points. The "dominant" fantasy defenses change almost every year, and it usually has less to do with the actual quality of their defense (Pittsburgh) and more to do with their ability to generate Sacks and INTs (Seattle).

I know you don't like choosing a defense based on playing bad offenses, but that really is the best factor. Aside from that, look for teams with injuries to their QB or Offensive Line and pick the defense they are against that week, or pick up an offensive team's defense if you think they are likely to be playing with a lead.

Don't do that, just trade him to me for a bench warmer if you think he's terrible :)

all three of my WR are on BYE this week.

hoping to snag Gordan and Avery off waivers.

not going to play the (already shaky) Ravens D against Houston, Dolphins on BYE, so the best of what's on the wire is...the Lions. here's to hoping Jay Cutler remembers he's Jay Cutler.

I just always make sure I draft a really good defense so I never have to worry about it. Which is why I have Houston's D :)

-Playing a bad offense (obvious)
-Playing after a bye week (obvious)
-Playing at home (Away teams are statistically more penalized than home teams, so the defense can get away with more and the offense gets away with less. This means the offense will be more scared to try and get away with holding. The defense can be more aggressive against WRs for INTs, etc.)

my run in league B is kind of ridiculous. 5 game win streak now, 2nd place (tied record-wise with Fabbles' stupid autodraft), 4th in points scored...

but last in points against by almost 100 points. xD pretty sure MoP's got me this week, he's second in points for, yet 2-4.
