so i was looking at imdb's upcoming movie list and stumbled upon to this

im not really sure what to think at the moment - but apparently sam raimi approved the movie and oversaw most of the production.

thoughts/opinions? is this just another unnecessary remake or do you think it will live up to the original?

ugh really? the trailer looks pretty sweet but I doubt it's going to satisfy. Evil Dead is one of my favorite movies of all time. I can't think of ANY remakes of classic horror movies that have left me totally satisfied and I don't see why this will be any different. Sam Raimi IS a part of it though, so at least there's that.

What's next? Are they gonna fucking remake The Shining?

Oh god I probably just jinxed it. They're going to announce The Shining remake on Halloween night just watch. Damn it.
 
I didn't really like the original movies(especially the third; never liked Raimis style) but i will probably enjoy this. I am after all probably the only person who liked the remakes of Night of the Living Dead and Psycho better than the originals.
 
You liked PSYCHO better than the original? Sweet Jesus..

I'm actually somewhat looking forward to this. I hope hope hope they pull it off.

And because that movie did not age well AT ALL. Still one of the best horror movies but man, watching it now is brutal.

Never was a fan of Evil Dead. I agree that this seems kind of dumb just because the people that like the original tend to be obsessed with it and so are never going to be happy with this.
