EDIT: FT, he was referring to the box trick, where you EV a poke without leveling it up and put it in the box. The EVs then take effect. It does work in DP, just not at level 100.

Wait, I got it all wrong then. I thought that if you put them into the box, then the EV's got evenly distrubited throughout all your stats. Ok ok, so I got worried for nothing.

You should double check first though. There's nothing particularly special inside Mt. Coronet (nothing like the Moss/Icy rock at least), so I can't imagine having to be near a certain spot.

Spieks doesn't hit Levitating or Flying types, but will always do 25% damage to pokemon it hits. Stealth Rock hits everything, but does a base dmaage of 12.5% and is then affected by typing. For example, Charizard, which is 4x weak to rock, will do 50% damage from Stealth Rock, while Blissey, which gets neutral from rock, will get 12.5% damage done to it.
EDIT: Spikes only does 25% afetr 3 layers have been layed down. Thats another con, Spieks takes 3 turn to set it up to its best form, Stealth Rock only takes one.

If it hits per layer, Stealth Rock is not necessarily better at causing damage if you're hitting neutral. 1 layer is 8.33% or so, and 3 layers (max) is 25%.

I personally prefer Stealth Rock, as so many thing learn it and it only takes one turn to set up.

I think Spikes hits by layer, as on Netbattle, 1 layer doesn't do to much to me, but once they lay down a few, Spikes start doing 100 damage to my 401 HP pokemon.

Whirlwind works on Pokemon with the Soundproof ability, while Roar doesn't. So Whirlwind, if available, is preferred.

I guess you could. It was actually BL/OU last gen, but it might have dropped due to lots of offense and no Hard Rock.

Each pokemon has a 50% chance of going first, so it's random.

After you beat the Tower Tycoon for the first time, you start getting more BP per 7 battles.

If you're looking for both of them (Attack EVs), then you can get nothing but Gyarados and Seakings if you fish in your hometown (Twinleaf town) with the Super Rod.
