Let's see how well you fit the peices together.
I'm constructing a team. I hatched a larvitar the other day that intrigued me to try something slightly new with it.
Tyranitar@Life Orb ** Bulldozer
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 156 Atk, 122 SpAtk, 244 Spd, Naughty Nature
~Surf
~Thunderbolt
~Ice Beam
~Crunch
Yes, yes.. it may seem odd. However, after a lot of number crunching, I came up with this conclusion:
My IVs and EVs will place my Speed, Atk and SpA at 205, 366 and 245 respectively. Now, with the Life Orb, I can do the following to common threats:
~ Easy OHKO Salamence, Garchomp and Skarmory
~ Guaranteed 2HKO on Cresselia, Slowbro and Dusknoir with Crunch.
~ Guaranteed 2HKO on Rhyperior (After Sandstorm), Donphan, Gliscor and Hippowdon with Surf
~ Guaranteed 2HKO on Suicune with Thunderbolt
~ 44.26% - 52.1% on Blissey with Crunch
And, it outspeeds most of these things as well. With a little prediction, I can nail the poke on the switch and then finish it off before it can even touch me.
What I use with this guy is the element of surprise. Most trainers these days expect an all-out physical TTar, or maybe a reminicent BOAH. This is neither; When the enemy brings out their physical wall, I either predict it from previous scouting, or have them think I'm some kind of Boah. This will cause them to bring out maybe a Cresselia, which I can easily 2HKO, assuming that Sandstorm cancels out it's Leftovers.
Basically, this guy destroys walls that meet their unfortunate demise when coming in to him.
Now then, with that poke on my team, I'd like a team that works well around him. So far I have as my starter:
Bronzong@Leftovers ** PaulRevere
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP, 252 Sp. Def, 6 HP Def, Calm
~Stealth Rock
~Hypnosis
~Psychic
~Light Screen
All I need is 17 SpA IVs to guarantee a 2HKO on Infernape, which is the main reason Psychic is there. Pretty much support for my team, Sets up SR early and allows me to accomodate to what my opponent is doing. If I'm up against a special sweeper, I can Light Screen and get the heck out of there. If I'm up against a threat I can always put them to sleep, maybe lay down some rocks and switch out to a sweeper to hopefully begin denting my opponent's pokes.
Metagross@Leftovers ** Conan
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 154 HP, 252 Attack, 104 Speed, Adamant
~Meteor Mash
~Agility
~Earthquake
~Explosion
Standard Agiligross. Works well with Garchomp and Sandstorm. Lategame sweepage.
-- and --
Garchomp@Choice Scarf ** Jawz
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 252 Atk, 224 Speed, 32 SpD, Adamant
~Outrage
~Fire Blast
~Stone Edge
~Earthquake
Another standard in ScarfChomp. Helps counter lots of threats. One of the main powerhouses of the team and is my main revenge killer.
Now then. With these four pokes that I'd love to use together on this team, I have a few problems. Bulky waters (Gyarados, Vaporeon, Milotic, Slowbro and Suicune) as well as some other waters in general (Manaphy, Starmie) are able to run through most of the team.
Another problem my team faces is in very fast sweepers such as Infernape.
For this reason, I'd love to use a very strong, hit-and-run poke that can really dent said Bulky waters and get rid of any sweepers in my way. The problem is, I can't really think of any.
A few pokes that grazed my mind were ChoiceSpecsStarmie, ChoiceSpecsJolteon, and maybe Electivire. However, I don't know how well they'd do on my team, so my question is... what do you guys reccomend as the two filler pokes on my team that will help counter my threats?
