Funny excuses you've received for wifi disconnects?

Everyone who has battled on wifi has run across the infamous disconnect ("DC" for short), whether you have done it yourself (shame on you) or had other players do it to you. Here's a thread to offer up some of those great excuses you can try to use or have seen people try to use on you. The early excuses seem to all have this kind of theme:

-My "Sibling/Parent/Significant Other" called me and I had to go (really!? its odd how they always "call" you when your 6th pokemon faints!)
-"My power was low/ran out" (stick it in the darn power recharger and start playing then, it won't run out while its connected to the power)
-"I didn't agree to those rules! I thought the rules were xyz" (reading/literacy is overrated, my mommy can read me the pokemon names while I spend the next 20 years on the couch making the BESTEST pokemon team ever)
-"OMG HAXZS!" (then you explain it was a choice scarf/band/anything and they go "ooohhhhhhh ok... whats that?! and then when they dont understand they go back to "OMG HAXZS!")

Another method commonly employed is to DC and avoid contact with that person ever again. "Out of sight, out of mind" or in the case of the Pal Pad "Out of my pal pad, but stuck forever in my conscious."

Any FFXI players might recognize this excuse from VGcats FFXI comic series: "My toes are cold" which you can attempt to use to get out of bad parties in FFXI.. maybe it could work in pokemon too? http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=96 (The comic I refer too, mostly FFXI based but the last part of the strip has the common excuses for a DC)

It wasn't on Wifi, but NB. You see, it was my Blissey CMing up with his Mewtwo. He keeps using Substitute and Calm Mind in random order, even when he alreasy has 6x. So I keep Thundering him. It then occurs to me that he might be trying to Pressure-stall me, and I'm thinking oh shit I'm screwed. So just when I ran out of Thunders, he switches to Deoxys-FR to take the Ice Beam, and goes back to Mewtwo. So I think lol Blissey sweep.

I Ice Beam Mewtwo for ~54%. It freezes, and he claims Serence Grace hax and disconnects.

Not yet, I'm still building my team.

But in FFXI I always used the genius "OMG MY GOLDFISH IS ON FIRE".

Good excuses:

- "I have to go tampon shopping"
- "My girlfriend just arrived and I haven't gotten any pussy in 6 months"
- "I was teaching my German Shepherd how to use Choice Items"
- "SHIT, my water just broke"

Plain and simple

-My internet DCed me for some reason

Yeah, it just HAPPENED to DC you RIGHT when your 6th Pokemon got KOed

Well, this was actually yesterday on Wi-Fi. My Starmie had just OHKO'd his Garchomp and was down to his last Poke, and so was I. So the next thing he sends out is, the perfect Starmie counter, Weavile. I predicted a Night Slash for a OHKO, so acting too hastily I T-Bolted Weavile, then I smacked myself when I realized I could have used Surf for better power and STAB. I got Night Slashed and left with 23 HP, T-Bolt flies in, Weavile gets paralysis.
Now, the match would have been mine right then and there, but he then shouts over Wi-Fi that my Starmie was an OMGHAXXXORSZ and disconnects.

"Oops, got a date with your mom, gotta DC."
Meh, I don't get DCed against often. My internet HAS spontaneously went out on me though, once or twice... And even though I was winning 5-2 or so one time it happened, my opponent said I DCed because I didn't want to lose. Keep thinking that, kiddo. XD

I don't get D/C'd against very much, because I normally lose...but once, it was in a tournament, and his excuse was "Tournament doesn't start 'till tommorow. This was a practice match. We didn't need to finish it"

Someone had a wonderguard Spiritbomb. So my friend battled this person and landed a super effective KO with scrappy Miltank. The guy yelled Hax and disconnected. LOL

Rofl, I did the same thing using Mold Breaker Rampardos.

Rampardos uses Stone Edge!
Spiritomb fainted!
"u cant hert wundr gard spritibomb! hax!"
lol @ Spritibomb. Best misspelling exaggeration I've ever done. ^^

I got a good one not too long ago: "Oops, accidentally walked out of WiFi range with my DS."
"Rematch?"
"Nah"

True, I guess this thread isn't promoting much of a discussion

Well, your discussing whether this is promoting discussion right? So in a way it is promoting discussion by arguing over what is discussion.

Either way, just wanted to see some funny stories that give a little laugh.

Yea, I know DC's don't matter, but its funny to see what excuses people come up with for them.

I've had 7 people DC against me. The most common excuse is that my Azelf/Heatran (whoever I'm using at the time) is uber. I've had one person say that Uxie is uber. One person DC'd and said that I did it, even though I was up 4-1.

The last one is the funniest. I sent my Porygon-Z out against his paralyzed Garchomp. He switched as I Nasty Plot'd. He sent out Blissey. I Nasty Plot'd again, and he used Softboiled (probably predicting a Tri-Attack) I then OHKO'd his Bliss with Tri-Attack. He DC'd and said that my Porygon-Z had hacked stats, because apparently it's impossible for anything non-physical to take down Blissey.

Wait, so it was a +4 sp. atk porygon-Z tri-attack? Wow, just wow.

I haven't had anyone disconnect against me, but I have battle someone in an ĂĽber double battle who used groudon, kyogre, mew, mewtwo, charizard, and sceptile. Yanmega was able to put them all to sleep, and salamence got in a dragon dance and killed stuff. It was fun hearing him scream NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also got 3 calm minds on raikou before its sub broke.

Egh, whenever I disconnect faraway from range and can't use the computer, I tell them I can't use the computer beforehand so I wouldn't know if they want to rematch :[ But if I do disconnect, I usually ask for a rematch, especially if it were close.

But I haven't had a disconnect yet from a bitching opponent.

I actually made a stupid/silly mistake on WiFi myself. I traded Pokemon on WiFi, after spending a whole day trying to find a Light Ball. Finally I get it in a trade, and dinner's done. I'm pacing around waiting for the goddamn trade to finish, but lo and behold, it's taking forever. Impaient, I figure "hey, I already have the Pokemon, so if I got D/Ced, I should just pop up in the Pokecenter with the Pokemon!"

I shut my laptop, and see that my DS is still trying to communicate. Then an error message. The game RESTARTS. And it was a pain just to SET UP the trade (I hate GameFAQs, and the trade board moves a mile a minute).

I cried as I ate my dinner, then roamed the internet some more till I got it an hour later.

you mean your game data got erased??

One from my friend in a battle we had.
"My Wi-Fi Connector froze"
So, we had a rematch and I kept teasing him during the match. And then, just as I was about to win, MY Wi-Fi Connector froze. I was pissed off.

some guy said my jirachi was an uber then he sends out a mewtwo on me...and before the match i said no ubers and he asks can i use a ho-oh...
after i rape his mewtwo he disconnects...

I've never gotten a fake DC (people usually DC when they're winning so I guess they have true reasons to do so). And I've just won a battle with Freeze Hax.

You guys should stop battling people from Game FAQs and ask for battles here on Smogon.

Or am I really lucky? O.o

As annoying as DC are, they are also pretty common. Lets face it, WiFi can be pretty crappy and likes to drop out randomly, it varies with where you live, but I live in an area with huge magnetic fields an my house is made of ironstone so wireless signals die within meters.

I've had a few DCs from people who are losing, but I'm pretty sure they were accidental as they were not with randoms per se.
