I'm absolutely in love with Seattle! I live 45 minutes away from the Emerald City and am going to start going to school there next year too (GO HUSKIES!!!). Needless to say, I'm so excited. I love how clean the city is compared to other major cities and the culture is to die for! I love the rain and am excited for all those rainy days where I can sit in a Starbucks and just enjoy a warm cup of coffee. The pier of Seattle is amazing as well, there's an aquarium there, a small carnivalish area, endless restaurants and so much more! Seattle is definitely the place to be and it has my vote for best city ever : )

Does it have to be a USA city?
I've never been there before.

Anyway, my personal favourites are York (UK) and Sydney.

I've never been to these 3 cities but my goal is visit them at some point in my life: London, Dubai, Paris.

As someone who lives in the Philadelphia area, I'm offended that you didn't include that on the list.

...Actually it's pretty shitty there besides the sports complex and the historical stuff, never mind.

If Oakland counts as part of San Francisco I'd vote for San Francisco, without Oakland the Bay Area is shit. That would be my favorite city to live in, I don't know much about living in many cities. I've been to Shanghai, Hong Kong, Paris, London, Belgrade, NYC, but I've only lived in LA and the Bay Area (San Francisco+Oakland). I guess my favorite city to visit is London.

tolls, shitty drivers, bears fans, cub fans, high crime, black hawk fans, etc

You mean problems most cities have? Chicago isn't even close to some of the most dangerous cities in america, like detroit, st. louis, atlanta, birmingham, cleaveland. It's super elevated over Illinois and the US, but that's because Chicago is Illinois and most cities are over the US average. http://www.usnews.com/news/slideshows/the-11-most-dangerous-us-cities/2

Sports fans will be sports fans, I can't speak against it.

It has amazing architecture, a fantastic museum campus, excellent food, good parks and public access, and a fantastic social scene (music festivals and such). In fact I'm headed down there tonight to see a comedy group.

I hope you're kidding.

Sorry for my ignorance guys, that's totally my bad, but me not mentioning foreign cities did not mean they were out of the discussion, that's why I said tell us about your favorite city... And sorry, I didn't know my posts were getting annoying, I'll stop : (

I hope you're kidding.
San Francisco is overpriced and sold out, it's for yuppies, the bourgeoise idealists just getting out of post-grad work and thinking that going across the bay is going to make them a more respectable person, and hipsters that are a decade behind. Oakland keeps it real.

The entire Bay Area is overpriced and similar to your description. Oakland is no different, just a lot more crime.
