Queens Of The Stone Age - 3's & 7's

Possibly the best song from their new album, Era Vulgaris, the lyrics are phenomenal, you guys should check it out.

10/10

Radiohead - High and Dry

I used to care more for Radiohead's pop days until I experienced their latest stuff. This is still a great tune though and I love listening to it.

9/10

Red Sparowes - Finally As That Blazing Sun Shone Down Upon Us Did We Know That True Enemy Was The Voice Of Blind Idolatry; And Only Then Did We Begin To Think For Ourselves

Red Sparowes are awesome, and after listening to this newer album through I still stand by that. My iTunes for some reason says that this song is 45 minutes instead of the 8 minute length it really is, so I was prepared to give this a ten just for being 45 minutes of pure Red Sparowes. :( Still a great song.

9/10

Interpol - Obstacle 1

After all the Interpol love around here lately, I went and listened to my favorite song by them... the rhythm section is outstanding and so is the vocal performance. The lyrics can be nonsensical (she can read she can read she can read) but they're pretty much there just because they needed something to say, it's more about how passionate the vocals are. Really intense song. 10/10

Muse - Cave

Awesome song, if you're planning on starting to listen to Muse, this is the perfect song to motivate you. Come in my caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaave :D

9.5/10

Muse - Knights Of Cydonia

Awesome song, best rated on Black Holes And Revelations, the lyrics here are also phenomenal, and the guitar solo on the end is just priceless.

10/10

Mike Oldfield - Crises

Probably my favourite composer tied with Vangelis. This guy is a fucking genius... His music is sort of complex as for instance he likes to fuse Progressive Rock with New Age, though this track isn't a fine example of that. This track is divided in movements that either feature guitar solos, synth arrangements or a combination of both. I love it actually.

Permanent Experiment - Small Blue Box

This is from a recording a friend of mine made with his high school band. I recently discovered the 2 CDs and ripped them. It's pretty strange music, instrumental, experimental.

6/10

Also, just if anyone was wondering, I'm deleting any posts that are just Name - Song.

modest mouse - tundra/desert

the beginning of this song is pretty gay, but about a minute into it, they start yelling and shouting like in a normal modest mouse song

7/10

The Offspring - Race Against Myself

My all-time favorite Offspring song. Not that fast-paced with decent lyrics and a catchy chorus. Sort of a song that creates certain feelings when you listen to it.

10/10

Muse - Citizen Erased

Awesome song, it starts a bit violent but ends up softly, probably the best song from Origin Of Symmetry.

10/10

And edit: Just so everyone knows; I didn't double post on this page, some of the posts were just deleted for not obeying the new rules.

Jack Wall - Theme From Amateria

This guy made the scores for two Myst games (Exile and Revelations). Instead of relying on synths, he uses an entire orchestra. Although the track itself is repetetive I love the choir chanting Amateria as the percussion gets more intense.

heh, sorry about that

Built to Spill - Twin Falls

This song is special, so special. Not even 2 minutes long, it's just a cute little ditty about grade-school love and how you remember those people later in life. And he mentions the classroom game "7-Up"! How can this song not rule?

10/10

Nirvana - Hairspray Queen

This song is FUCKED UP. What the Christ is Mr. Cobain saying?
YOU WERE MINE MINE YOU WERE MINE MY ENEMY YOU WERE MINE I WAS YOUR ENEMY YOU WERE MINE
It's off their Incesticide album which I'm pretty sure is a collection of b-sides. This song is clearly just Kurt Cobain spontaneously singing what he heard in his head in its raw, unprocessed entirety. His vocal style here can't really be described...it's not a scream, it's not a wail...it's more of a squeel. Props for not giving a shit.

6/10 Because its actually interesting to listen to occasionally.

Smashing Pumpkins - For God And Country

7/10

The keyboards or w/e they are in this are really interesting. Chorus is nice too.

Lol DM I just noticed what you put as your location, fuck man

Isis - False Light

Great sludge/post-metal/doom metal right here. The screaming is great, the music has a good beat. It's loud, it's droning, it's perfect sludge/blah blah. As a song it just gets a bit boring though, but that's not too much of a problem.

8.5/10

Within Temptation - Pale

Shitty ballad on a rather mediocre album by this symphonic metal band, but they've done better luckily.

4/10

Tiger Lou - Like You Said

I've had "The Loyal" from these guys for about a year, and I absolutely love the song, but I couldn't find any of their albums to download. Yesterday I stumbled upon their record label's website, where I can stream ALL of their stuff. I'm loving this.

9/10

Animal Collective - Peacebone

Having listened to their new album enough (once) I really did like it, and this is, no surprise for AC, a great opener. The lyrics are nonsensical and lighthearted, and Avey Tare's singing is amazing yet again.

9/10

Kasabian -- "L.S.F."

Odd lyrics, strange beat, killer moaning (favorite part about this band) come together to produce an unsurprisingly weird track. I've heard better, though.

7/10

why? - rubber traits

man, i never gave any of the other songs off elephant eyelash any real listening time cause i was too in love with the song crushed bones. but holy fuck, this is my favourite why? song without question. it's just so beautiful, and the lyrics flow so perfectly. indie folk and hip hop go so wonderfully together. amazing video, too.
