So does this mean that Amphoras is now Electric/Dragon and or just in Mega form? Does Mawile now have the ability huge power or just in mega form? This whole concept is so strange.

It looks like the abilities are tied directly to the Mega forms
It's a little difficult to make out, but I think Ampharos still only has one type listed on his normal form (which would be Electric), unlike Mawile which has both.
So, here are my two cents..
I don´t really like Mega Evolutions:
Blaziken didn´t need a buff and looks rather overdesigned imo. I think Gen 5 all started it with Kyurem B and especially W, I don´t want this trend to increase...or we what we get is Digimons, in which case designers were like: how do we make a further evo? hell yeah lets just add some metal, wings, horns whatever... also it´s a starter and completed, why changing that? Just because it´s a Fans favourite? that sucks imo..
Mega Mawile looks great imo but I´d rather have it get a normal evolution so that´s it´s not only in-battle viable.
Same goes for Absol, although I really preferred it´s previous design but it´s okay I guess..
Ampharos evo is meh..changing it to dragon with basically the same ability like Zekrom? and again it was already completed with it´s 3 stages.
Mega Mewtwo looks acceptable at best (we had some time to grow on it..) but I really don´t see how is it a Mega Form of Mewtwo, imo regular Mewtwo looks significantly stronger.
Mega Lucario is almost as bad as Blaziken, almost as overdesigned and almost as redundant.
Regarding competitive battling I am not thaaaat worried cause at least the Uber tier is most likely getting more diverse which was really needed.
So my questions are:
How exactly does this upgrade work? Like Giratina´s orb? Holding a permanent item to be in this form and having to pass on another item? Or letting regular Blazken somehow switch into its mega form for like one turn (or the amount of turns it is active in the battle but after resending it out it will be normal again)?
Will eviolite work then? I guess not right? Cause I mean that´d be kinda ridiculous.
The other new pokes revealed are really standard for gf and every gen, aren´t they? another cute rabbit and mouse..don´t really care for them.

The mega evolutions are not what's bothering me, what's bothering me is now I'll be starting my Y Version with 2 fire starters because I'm picking fennekin as my starter and a speed boost Torchic is something I'm trying hard to pass up, but I can't. Not to mention I want Fletchling as well. Here's to hoping no in-game trainer/gym leader/elite four member has stealth rock!
It should've been Riolu with a mega stone being given away on day 1 of the release, Not Torchic. Blaziken is already powerful and the thought of an even more powerful one imo overshadows not just Fennekin this gen, but Froakie & Chespin as well. Torchic is now the best starter in Pokemon History possibly.

Oh my mistake, i shouldve been clearer. Obviously they do keep us in mind :p but i meant, like, they dont give us the things we want/need in the metagame. They kind of just throw things out there at us. I dont think anybody asked for new forms of pokemon with higher stats or anything, you know?
I'm not sure if it has been mentioned yet (so if it has just disregard), but wasn't MegaMewtwo seen in a previous video breaking out of something (some users thought it could have been a shell smash animation I believe) and holding up a stone of some sort (possibly its mega stone)? Maybe it's the animation for the transformation?
The three new Pokemon are kinda boring. What the hell happened to Raichu? Dedenne is probably the laziest iteration of Pikachu.

Most of the designs look interesting if not bordering on Digimon (This is basically the Pokemon equivalent of Burst Mode). I assume it will work kinda like the Griseous Orb and transform at the start of battle as long as they have the appropriate held item (species specific "Mega Stones").
Is PokeJungle the only one reporting that they are inbattle only? I don't see that anywhere on PokeBeach or Serebii but it would make sense.

If Mega Evolutions are reliant on a "Mega Stone" item, then Trick will seriously become Uber. Megas will probably be everywhere, and trick gives them a bad item while your pokemon becomes Mega.

Until today, it had no name. The movie website just referred to it as mewtwo awakened but it was never called as such.
Speaking of, kind of hope the localization calls them [name] Mega instead of Mega [Name]

I don't think it's a coincidence that the Super Training facility is being showcased in the same issue with Mega Evolutions. All the Mega Evolutions are only happening with fully evolved Pokemon and we don't know too much about Super Training quite yet, so I think the Super Training mechanic, whatever it may be, will have something to do with the Mega Evolution process. Maybe once a qualifying Pokemon completely goes through Super Training, the trainer will the option to upgrade to the Mega form?
And Pokejungle. And the fact that the warning is removed. And the fact that Megacario is on the cover the magazine.
I still think they will be formes and not evolutions. And the scans can be faked.

Perhaps all fully evolved will get them. And while it does seem like Digimon, they have been bringing that show back in America at least recently and Japan has to know how popular these particular games are overseas
