Pokémon XY General Discussion

That could be it. I mean the leaker might have been gamefreak themselves, because a lot of the info is pretty detailed for an average tester to be able to spot. I get this feeling that gamefreak/leaker "corrected" it to bring up the discussion and hype before the game is released, without spoiling too much so future reveals are more surprising. Pokebeach might not have been wrong. It's a typical strategy that a lot of other gaming companies uses.

I've been thinking the same thing. That would explain why most of the leaks have been confirmed PRIOR to the release of the game. I would think a real beta tester would tell us a lot of things that wouldn't be confirmed prior to release.

Alternatively the leaker might somehow have information about what GF would/will tell us about the games before the release. Or it may just be a odd coincidence...

lol

I just noticed Mega Mewtwo X also has his feet... didn't realize GF were such big DBZ fans :p Can we get a Broly poke next? :D
We already have Goku (Infernape) and Freeza (original Mewtwo), so I don't see why not.

Braixen sounds like an Organization XIII member.
While I'm here, somebody please make a sprite/drawing of this, kinda like my profile picture.

Please try to keep requests like these limited to the art thread.

You know, I think Braixen is one of the first Pokemon we've had to actually have flavor play such a vital role in its design. I was really confused by the twig in its tail until I read Fennekin's Pokedex entry. Now it's a lot more clear - I bet more Pokemon have this happen this generation.

is anyone else bothered that between appearance, contrast with a pure psychic special option, typing, and ability, Mega Mewtwo X is literally Gallade?

Gallade is Medicham?
Medicham: Standalone evo line, Pure Power ability

Gallade: Later-gen branch-off, counterpart with pure-psychic type (at time of introduction) and special focus, steadfast

Mewtwo X: Later-gen branch-off, counterpart with pure-psychic type (at time of introduction) and special focus, steadfast

Oh, well when you put it like that...

I think if imposter Ditto switches in to a mega-pokemon, he will not transform into the mega form UNLESS holding that megapoke's stone.
For example, scarfed Ditto switches in against a mega-charizard, Ditto transforms into charizard...
A Ditto holding mega-charizard stone, switches in against a mega-charizard then transforms into mega-charizard...
Or maybe instead of a mega-charizard stone, Ditto would hold a mega-ditto stone, allowing it to transform into mega-pokemon =)

How does Ditto handle transforming into, say, Meloetta

I was wondering about anyone's thoughts on steel types loss of resistances to BOTH dark and ghost. I had hoped it would be only one of them to make shadow claw/ night slash, and shadow ball/dark pulse notably different. Maybe only dark is neutral against steel because of its nerf from fairies? I think it would be a good move because Dark coverage is already not much to brag about

You're wrong, yes.

We've seen mega evolution in local/wifi arena
In that respect, I'd like to think that it'd be like Wonder Launcher, in that under certain rules it can be disabled for a more 'traditional' battle. Sadly we'll need to wait nearly another month before that's known.

How are we going to calculate base stats this time around?
will any of the official guides have them?

There will be an NPC similar to BW/BW2 that will tell you if you have perfect ivs in any stat. Then we level them up to 100 and compare with existing known level 100 base stats

This is what I was formulating after reading the explanations of the theory. What bothers me is that, from what I understand, Imposter could turn Ditto into Giratina-O when faced against Giratina-O even though Ditto isn't holding onto a Griseous orb, and copying Arceus means copying it's present type even though Ditto might not be holding a plate. Because there are already cases of Ditto coming into special forms without need of that special form's required item, I'm kind of dreading to find out if Ditto can copy a MEvo perfectly.
But I also want to believe that, since MEvoing is special from both form changes and evolution, Ditto may be incapable of copying them. Maybe.
But even then, there's still the issue of using Ditto appropriately. It bothers me to think that anyone is going to get any good use out of it besides knocking out your opponent's MegaLucario by copying it.
