College Football 2013-2014 Thread

I'm an Arkansas fan. Obviously, we're in a rebuilding stage this season with the state of disarray John L. Smith left this program in after last season, but things are looking up thanks to Bret Bielema. I'm really excited for the physical play style and hard-nosed mentality he's planning to bring to this team, because it's something we've not had here in a long time.

Also, glad to finally say goodbye to the BS that is the BCS.

Ya it's the last year for the BCS, next year starts the +1

Rankings look about right in my eyes, only things that I really notice are Michigan at #17 which I believe is a little high, Arizona not being in the top 25, and Texas A&M getting a #1 vote... I'm really intrigued to see how good Oregon will be without Chip Kelly.

Another FCS upset over an FBS team: E. Illinois over SDSU.

And it wasn't even close. SDSU got destroyed at home.

Lets see:
Alabama is overrated.
Clemson is legit.
I feel bad for those small schools that have to play Oregon.
FCS>FBS
Johnny Manziel is officially the Miley Cyrus of college football.
I can't wait for the NFL season to start.

POLL: Which is more putrid? Florida's passing game, or Texas's run defense? EDIT: OR USC IN GENERAL?

Definitely USC (how do you only score 7 on a Wazzu squad led by Mike Leach?), but it was fun watching Driskel's ineptitude sink Florida.

rip in peace Marqise Lee's pro prospects

when I saw that live my first impression was that he was high... the second impression was that Kirk noticed immediately and was wondering why the fuck the producers let him on the air

I don't think brent noticed though, or maybe he's just much better at looking past it

anyone else sick of the Clowney hype? two games he's been completely gameplanned out of, and ESPN still has him in 50% of their game highlights. I can understand most quarterback circlejerk, because they always actually DO something, but this is pretty ridiculous.

I dont know which was worst, that game or the Packers / Seattle game last year
The game last night was far worse, looked like the refs fixed the game at the end. Can't say the same for the Packers / Seattle game, that was just pure incompetence.

Jesus my school is horrible. 14 points down in what, two minutes?

And it still isn't going to stop the BAMA GOING FOR A THREE-PEAT MCCARRON IS OUR GOD THE ONLY FOOTBALL TEAM IN THE WORLD IS THE CRIMSON TIDE.

If Louisville can manage to win out our cakewalk schedule we will set up the most lopsided national championship in the history of college football. I'm ok with that because we'd still get 2nd place.

unless oregon / ohio state also win out in which case you'll be playing in the orange bowl or some shit

Even if Ohio State / Oregon lose TWO games, I can't see why Louisville should leapfrog them in the polls / BCS Standings. I mean come on, 1/3 of the teams they play(ed) lost to FCS schools.

SEC bias can suck my dick.

Scam Newton. Nothing.
LSU Scandal. Nothing.
OSU players sell their own property. BOWL BAN LOL (oh and they went undefeated last year gg should be nat'l champs thanks obama NCAA)

Michigan already lost to OSU? Not playing again.
Bama loses to LSU? REMATCH!

LSU: the first, and likely last, two-loss national champion

Of course they always win when they're blatantly favored by the system.

also lol Wisconsin got flat out fucking cheated and I would be amused with Louisville in the title game kinda like I would've Hawaii before they got stomped in their bowl game after going undefeated in the regular season a few years back

I remember when Arkansas went to Baton Rouge and took them down in triple OT that year. I, as well as every other neutral spectator, thought surely that was the end of LSU's title chances.

I agree there's SEC bias, but you'll never see it in favor for Arkansas, even when they were doing well. Arkansas tends to be on the receiving end of some pretty BS calls to protect the "top" SEC teams (see: Arkansas vs Florida 2009)
