Pokémon XY General Discussion

My plans for XY will be getting X on launch, attain Froakie and marathon the game till my eyes bleed. (Maybe) On the way there are a few specific revealed Pokemon I absolutely intend to catch, a few others that I will get upon finding them assuming nothing better comes up. I will largely try to avoid old Pokemon purely for the "new" factor. If they have new evolution (Not MEvolutions) I may consider that, but right now... Sylveon is the only option.
A Nuzlocke run was something I considered, but failing and then just stopping the Nuzlocke isn't my style. And as much as I like to do "gimmick" runs, I'd want my first playthrough to be just a regular thing where I can enjoy my time.
Another thing I really considered was getting a 3DS capture card and all that cool stuff and record it just for the sake of it. Alas, I'm doubtful wether the console would get back to me by then, so it's sort of too late for that. Also I'm not exactly rich. .-.
Already been taken down. The PokeBeach crowd is skeptical of this one, though.
- Taking down the information proves nothing - that's a pretty good stunt to pull if you're worried about how it stands up to scrutiny.
- I think most reviewers are smart enough to not make a website just to break their NDA. You want to reduce the odds it can be traced back to you easily.
- Box Arts are relatively easy to fake.
- Hot on the heels of another leaked rumor, supposedly confirming them? Sounds like trying to ride the wave.
Were they ever up?
Either it was up or their forum managed to conspire on a hoax and then immediately decide to play full-blast skeptic. Check the last 4 or so pages.

It's probably best to just disregard his claims until we get some better confirmation.
This leaker is the same guy from yesterday/before yesterday whenever pokebeach posted those rumors, he's just adding to them.
EDIT: And idk, there seems to be some credibility. Mostly, it stems from having story details and the fact that he hasn't revealed Chespin and Fennekin's final evo; this falls in line with only having access to one starter. Judging by the rumors, he's only up to around the 5th gym.
I imagine he would have battled his rival at least a few times at this point.
In what games does the rival have his final stage starter by the 5th gym? Not RBY, if you follow the actual order of the badges. Not GSC (he doesn't have the final stage until victory road). Not RSE (they never get the final stage), and not DPPt (when the battle in Canalave happens, they still have the middle evo).
If he isn't past the 5th gym (a recent post stating that the 5th gym is dark implies that its his most recent badge), I doubt he'd have that information.
I think we should just wait until tomorrow's announcement. It may give some confirmation to these rumors.
And we know for sure that this is the same guy and not someone claiming to be the same guy?
IDK. Big red flag for me in the "there's another Eeveelution but I refuse to say what it is!" line. Not to mention, I expect better grammar and syntax from someone who's supposedly a professional reviewer. Box Art security is likely much less than the actual game's security, so while the pictures look reliable, that's about all I'll give them. I'd rather discuss this on IRC or via PM until we have an official okay to talk about this in the thread.
First playthrough
Hmm, let's see. I would probably get Fennekin (because witch fox is the best thing ever) and Squirtle, I love Bulbasaur, but I always pick it on my Red runs so, yeah. Dun care about the possible powercreep of using two starters (Torchic can enjoy the PC box). I always wanted to use the Kanto starters on the newer games, so I'm gonna use them at least this time, on next runs I would probably pick Charmander/Bulbasaur only, and then Froakie only, who knows.
For the rest of my team I still don't decide, I always try to get my favorites from the weaker pokémon, so the game can be decently challenging (taking down N's Zekrom with Whimsicott was pretty fun >:3). And I will get Amaura, so that's only three pokémon at the time.

I was reviewing the Mega Evolutions and... How did I forget Mega Amphabulous? That's another one I'll break my "only new pokémon" vow if I can get my hands on a Mareep. Ampharos was probably my favourite from GSC, and I really like the Mega Evolution, so...
On the other hand, don't you guys think that ALL starters will get a Mega Evolution? I mean, they've confirmed it's mostly based on popularity, and starters, all of them, are really popular. If only the Kanto starters had a Mega Evolution, I'd just assume the most iconic ones would be the ones with one, but since Mega Blaziken is there, I think that's a pretty big hint that all Gen 3, and probably all starters will have a MEvo.

I see 2 scenarios:
1. An evolution of a gen 6 pokemon we've already seen (Probably Helioptile, Flabebe, or Bunnelby since I doubt they'd only show one starter or version exclusive evo)
2. An evolution of an older gen Pokemon (preferably not Eevee)
I hope Pikachu/Raichu become Electric/Fairy. Its great typing.

Hey guys, not to change the topic, but I was thinking, the old Pokebeach rumors said Meowstic had a pre-evolution, but the thing is, Meowstic is pretty small for a fully evolved Pokemon, which means that if it does get a prevo, then it can only mean one thing: Realistically sized cat Pokemon. Feel free to ignore my rambling, I'm kinda just waiting for tomorrow.
Why not an Eeveelution? Hoping for a Helioptile myself. Love the little electric lizard doggy thing.
Given what they've said about popularity, I consider it VERY likely that Raichu will get a Mega Evolution.
Or both a prevo and an evo.
I give it 50/50 odds. On the one hand, it's the final form of the series mascot; on the other hand, Pikachu will never evolve in the anime (which is largely responsible for Pikachu being the series mascot instead of Poliwhirl or Clefairy), and a mevolve keyed off of its evolution won't ever get to be used. They also market Pikachu and the Pikaclones towards the cute-collectors, not the competitive battlers. Raichu itself is relatively unpopular these days, even though I love the dickens out of it. :c
And personally, not only do I not want anymore Eeveelutions, there's only one type I'd consider even remotely plausible for it: normal. And I'm not sure what, if anything, a normal Eeveelution would bring to the game.
I hope so. The type coverage would be very nice with Thunderbolt/Fairy-Move/Surf/HP Ghost.
