Hidden power mechanics was obvious going to change due to the iminent hidden power fairy. Fixing the base power was a good idea, but yeah, they shouldve fixed it at 70 lol.

Most other Pokemon who have it will have to find a replacement, I mean some Pokemon like Infernape or the Lati's can find some replacements as they have the coverage to, but they ruined many of the lower coverage special Pokemon forever.
Welp, time for me to change all the Pokemon I have with Hidden Power to have 31 IV's and something more practical.
Which has been available in 5th gen anyway?
Yeah, it's a real shame that there is no such pokemon as Roserade, who has probably not been mentioned twice already.
You'd need some funky (and iirc fairly low) Ivs to pull it off though.
Man special attackers took a huge hit this gen. 70 was just strong enough 60 is just kinda redic. w/e it was an unfair (only a little) advantage for special attackers in the first place

Also, Mega-Gengar is bloody insane. I cannot foresee the Gengarite at the least lasting in OU for long.

If you can, can you ask them to test:
- 4x weak?
- If there's a 5-turn limit?
If the answer is "still" and "nope" respectively, Rapid Spin distro is my last hope.
Sheer Coverage > Drop in power, but that's still huge. A lot of things miss out on significant OHKOes with this nerf. It will still see use, but it will be less of a priority on some Pokemon because of this. HP Ice and HP Fire is still really hard to pass up on for some Pokemon.
Don't know if they're still active now though. (That pic was from one of the 4chan leakers IIRC.) I wouldn't hold your breath.
Maybe I'm the only one, but I actually love that Hidden Power change. Makes having a naturally good movepool much more valuable, and is less of a natural advantage in that department for Special Attackers. Still occasionally useful, but hopefully it won't be all over anymore.
Yep, that's true, but Roserade is probably better off setting up spikes/toxic spikes than be a special sweeper.
Does anyone feel like the meta is just getting better and better for Scizor? A whole brand new type thats weak to bullet punch, a nerf to hidden power Fire...

I can only hope that strong physical attacking moves (CC, namely) will take the plunge along with the special moves that were already nerfed.
