Instacheck Hotspot -- a fast Pokémon checker for XY

Hey I got insta check working, but I'm having some issues. After connecting my Pokemon game to the hotspot, I click on the insta check window, go to "start scanning" but nothing ever appears. The 3ds is connected just fine to the hotspot, so I'm not sure what's up.

On the drop down menu there is an option for "Ethernet" and "Local Area Connection". When connecting to the hotspot, I have to make sure ethernet is selected to get the hotspot working. Does anyone know what's going on with my issue? Thanks :)

I have my ethernet cable ( the one connected directly from my computer to the router ) , WIRELESS disabled. My Virtual hotspot works for my 3DS and the connection test passes. However, when I attempt to connect to the internet via my Pokemon X , it doesn't connect and says the server has an error and I was required to try again later. After many attempts, I still can't. Any can help me?

I have built-in wireless :)
You need to have the Virtual Wirless network "enabled" and the only way that will work is by "enabling" your main wireless network. You should see as soon as your usually Wireless NIC is enabled, the virtual network appear.

what it winPCap for i have it downloaded but it doesnt do anything o.o
It's a program that is required to create virtual wireless networks. It's an essential piece of Instachecker.

Well, now I can't get my 3DS to connect to the new network. What should I do there? The program is up and running, I just can't connect

I use Avast free, so I don't have their firewall. My Windows Firewall isn't working either... oh god
Where you the one getting the "returned from a call to a COM component" error?

I need to know what version of windows you're on, and what service pack if applicable. This requires modification to the registry, however I may be able to find you a windows auto-fixer.

This is caused by Instachecker "scan" being started BEFORE the 3DS connects. So just 'stop' the scan. Try to connect. When the 3DS is online, then you 'scan'

If you only have those two choices, it sounds like your Wireless network isn't enabled. You need a working and enable wireless network card for this program to work.

It's still not connecting. Should I restart my computer? Or is there another reason why it wouldn't connect?

Yes, restart the computer. If you start the "scan" to early, occasionally you will need to restart.

Restart the computer -> Start the hotspot -> connect the 3ds in pokemon to the hotspot -> Open instachecker -> start scan on your hotspot

Oh crap lol I'm not confident the registry will be in English lol
Before I get you to blindly poke around in your registry I'm going to get you to install this program to my exact specifications. Please stand by for a visual walkthrough. Give me 10 mintues, okay?

Sure, sure.
I tried to create the hotspot again and it's giving me a message in portuguese, but with a code to the error: (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070425)
Do you know if this is easy to fix? Because I think I fixed the other problem without even knowing what I was doing LOL

Hmm I'm not sure I understand you what you're talking about directly. If my wireless network was diabled, wouldn't I have issues connecting to the other wireless connections? I can do that just fine through my computer and my 3ds. If that's not what you mean, can you tell me what I need to do to enable the wireless network on my computer on windows 8? I tried to use google and I'm not finding any results to help me.

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum, but I am happy to help check eggs and hatch if need be, here are my details:

Sure, sure.

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms833805.aspx It's all related to the same issue actually lol This is usually caused by an anti-virus program closing this form of communication.

I tried again, reset the computer, then started Instacheck's hotspot, then tried to connect, and it still isn't connecting.
Edit: I just checked my network connections and it says Network 2 doesn't have internet access, do you know why that would be?

All right, thank you very much. I'm pretty dumb when it comes to these things x_x
I'm sure there are some things you're amazing at, that I could never do. So don't feel bad. :) I'm just lucky to be employed in networking lol I literally fix these problems for a living hahaha

I had the same kind of an issue at first. Eventually it just worked >_> wish i knew what i did to fix it lol I'll be posting a visual walkthrough in a few moments so maybe lets try doing it again from scratch.

10 minute ETA on that guide everyone
