Instacheck Hotspot -- a fast Pokémon checker for XY

Hey guys, I understand servers are down which is preventing in-game connection, but I've just come across another issue. Norton is flagging 'interop.netconlib.dll' as unsafe and is removing it whenever I run the program. I can exclude this file ID from Norton's scans but it appears that a new dll is created each time I run the program, and it instantly crashes whenever I try to run virtualrouterplus (ie. InstaCheckHotspot.exe). Obvious solution is to remove my norton firewall, but that's not ideal.

It's probably flagging the dll due to it's nature, it's sudden increase in number of users, and the lack of a reputable author, so the flagging doesn't necessarily indicate that it's malware.

If anyone can offer any help I would be greatly appreciative!

EDIT: Just found a solution. I had to add the dll as an exception to Norton (Antivirus> Scans and Risks> Exclusion/Low Risks). Disabling the firewall did not help the issue, so if people are still having problems after disabling their firewall then they may need to add the dll to their antivirus list of exceptions.

The servers were down for maintenance. It said so on the Japanese PGL. (WHY the US one doesn't, I don't know). It looks like it's just the same regular maintenance that happened witht the GTS in Gen V. Nothing special.

I'm going to try to answer a few things directly, that I noticed got asked:

Purely-wireless PC. DOES WORK FOR HOTSPOT. That's what I myself use, case in point. For HomePass, they'd thought it wasn't doable either. I proved it wrong.

Changing DNS/proxy/etc. will not help. All that matters is SSID and Password.

To check your connected peers for a wireless card's HotSpot, it's easy.
This will show the Mac Address of all connected peers:
In Prompt, enter this:
netsh wlan show hostednetwork

I suspect that those who have noticed they need to disable their Firewall for the program to work, probably need to check their Firewall settings and add an axception for that particular program (VirtualWirelessPlus, or whatever it's called); or whatever is involved in the connection. I'm not sure, since I don't have that issue.
To solve this, most likely, use the custom version that does NOT need the built-in HotSpot program, and use a hotspot made through Prompt. Which should also be less buggy if done right.

That's not the issue:

Hi! you don't disable your wifi, you just simply disconnect from it :)

btw this worked for me.

Restart your computer.

immediately open an elevated command prompt. windows logo+run cmd as administrator.
then, type in netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=attwifi key=87654321
after that, type again netsh wlan start hostednetwork and disconnect from your wifi.
set the shared connections in the instacheck box to Local Area Connection and make sure the SSID and KEY are the exact same as "attwifi" and 87654321.

Yeah, disabling the Adapter does you no good at all... that turns it OFF. (Kinda useless in that state)

Also, yes, restarting is an unusually helpful thing, especially after installing new programs and such. Heck, just for clearing out built-up crap in the memory can help SO MUCH.

Technically, I think they should have put that in the first post:
Install WinPCap, THEN REBOOT. I have to wonder, that may be a part of the problem many have had involving it...?

EDIT: Solved. The firewall was blocking gamefreak's servers. I leave this here just for info

Hi there! I'm having a problem with Instacheck Hotspot.
I intalled WinPCap, rebooted my PC, connected the 3DS to the internet and the Connection Test didn't failed. When I try going online on Pokémon X I keep getting error 001-0502 Unable to connect to the server.
I connected to the shared connection with my mobile phone and everything works fine, but with the 3DS doesn't work. I can browse the internet with my 3DS while connected to this hotspot (I removed all other connections).
I just can't go online on Pokémon.
What am I doing wrong? Does the firewall blocks gamefreak's servers?

Just trying to figure out which two connections go together.
That should be easy. A wireless connection that is using shared internet from the main connection will have an ip adress of the form of 192.168.137.X. Just look for the one which has that form and that's the one you must use.

Ok so Im trying to get this thing to work. Ive downloaded WinPcap and Insta checker, ive enabled network hosting, and when I try to connect to the network I get this:

Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component.

Any ideas anyone?

EDIT: Also, when I trouble shoot network problems it says that the Pokecheck hotspot connection doesnt have a valid IP

I signed up just to post here. I can't seem to get it to work and I consider myself pretty tech savvy. Can someone do up a trade with me so I can get my data? FC is 1891-1515-8415

Thanks.

So I got instacheck to boot up and can connect my 3DS to it and trade (while it's scanning), but instacheck can't seem to tell I'm trading so all the boxes stay blank. I can't see my shiny ID, the pokemon's gender, its IVs, or anything. I deleted all the other internet connections besides instacheck, but this is still happening. How do I fix this?
