Instacheck Hotspot -- a fast Pokémon checker for XY

Since this was posted 10 pages back, this was what I wrote first:

"It's an issue with getting my network to share. "The specified device does not exist as an installed service

wlan is what shows up as the virtual network for wireless

so when i try to share my lan with it, i get that error every time

I've installed winpcap, 4 times too"

Your reply:

Winpcap doesn't sound like it's the problem there. I'm not sure what "wlan is what shows up as the virtual network for wireless" means. Does that mean his miniport adapter doesn't show up at all? Are his network card drivers up to date?

And he messaged me with this today:

sorry for being so vague

the instacheck shows up on my adapters page if i try to run it, but it gives me an error

that's the virtual wireless network I try to share my local area connection to

the main issue is trying to get my local area connection to actually share

I made a video with some of my own tips and tricks, as well as most of the info gathered by this thread.

Hopefully it helps some people.
I am following your video. However, when I get to here 2:35, I see that on my computer it does not have a thing where it allows me to select the network. Is there a way to make it appear?

The instacheck doesn't seem to wanna start for me no matter how much times I reboot, any ideas to fix this?

If not, can anyone assist me in checking 5-8 eggs?

Well you could try a few things:
- Check your services (search services.msc) and see if Internet connection sharing is started
- Make sure your network adapter allows hosted networks; you can check from command prompt: "netsh wlan show drivers" and check if hosted networks is supported.
- Make sure your wireless card is enabled but not connected to any network!
- Use the command prompts shown in the video annotations, or in Pokemon Breeder Sophie's guide on the first page of the thread, and then check and see if you get the options in the sharing tab again.
- If you're using vista, seems many people have issues with that windows version.

Would anyone mind helping me find out my SV? Maybe check 10 eggs too? All i'm met with is BSOD when I connect my 3DS to the hotspot :(. FC: 0645-5776-0115

My network is shared but as soon as I click start Hotspot it stops sharing, which then I end up getting "The group or resource is not in the correct state to perform the requested operation". My Networks are supported as well so no problem there, and even with Pokemon Breeder Sophie's guide I still seem to get an error.

Try this:
- Go to Device Manager
- Go to network adapters
- Check and see if you have "Microsoft Virtual Miniport Adapter" listed
- Enable it if you do
- Try and start a hotspot
- If it doesn't work, reboot your comp, and then try again.

Can't think of anything else to try at the moment. :(

I do not have it listed. Is there a way to get it?

Well if you entered the commands in command prompt:
"netsh wlan set hostednetwork allow"
"netsh wlan start hostednetwork"

You then open instacheck, and then go to device manager and check if its there (it should be, which is awkward). If it is, you enable it, and then start a hotspot.

If not, then really not sure what else could be done. You could try and update your wireless cards drivers, that seems to have fixed it for some people before.

Hmm, still having problems. I'm wondering if it's because I'm using Windows Vista. Anyways, thanks for your help on trying to make it work for me, I've been at it all day. XD

Now, if anyone is willing to help me discover what my SV is and help me find an egg with my SV, that would be awesome. ^-^ I still have to breed allot of eggs, so I hope you wouldn't mind waiting. :P My FC is: 4253-3711-3154

Quick question. So I have my Hotspot in Connection 1 and my Wi-Fi in connection 2. Will it automatically take connect to connection 1?

So happy we have people who help out when they can, and those who don't scam.

Someone just hatched a Female Shiny Ghastly with 6IV's for me! ^_^

Okay, I have two issues, after noticing the stand alone instacheck:
1. I cannot get it to work on my laptop, it says that it stopped working whenever I try to open it up.

2. On my PC/desktop/second computer, it opens, but when I try to scan, it says scanning, but when I do a wonder trade, it never shows up?

What am I doing wrong? D:

So.. When trying to open the stand alone on my laptop, this is what I get... >_<
Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click continue the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.

No interfaces found! Make sure Libpcap/WinPcap is properly installed on the local machine.

I installed Winpcap, Is there a specific way to install it? Did I do it wrong?
