Instacheck Hotspot -- a fast Pokémon checker for XY

Okay, so I finally got Instacheck to work by using the Standalone version. However, when I trade with someone and select "show", my info appears on the side of the box where the other trainer's info is supposed to appear. And when the other person shows me something, it's info does not appear. I've attached a screenshot. I really hope someone can help me with this; I was so excited when I thought I finally had this program running but am crushed to find it only works half of the way and even then works very oddly.
Hey, can you explained how you got the standalone version to work? thanks

Well... I just downloaded it and started it. I use Connectify to get my 3DS online, if that makes any difference.
Though I wouldn't exactly call it "working" when it doesn't seem to be functioning as intended...

Ah thanks, its still a step in the right direction. I'll try that method out as well.

ok so plan B is Connectify. Can I still download the Extended standalone and regular version after installing Connectify? hopefully having already installed WinCap won't conflict with Connectify
I would think that you can still download the two after installing Connectify, not sure how they would interact though. Unfortunately, I really know nothing about Connectify or the extended version (or really the version from this thread lol), so hopefully someone more knowledgeable on the subject can clarify and help. Kinda reached the end of my knowledge on the subject.

From what i've been told Instacheck doesn't work on XP
Thanks for the confirmation, Jacen. Now I don't feel as bad about not figuring it out.

Is there a way to do this with a desktop with a router connected to it via ethernet?
That might work since you aren't using the router to connect to the internet. If you type "netsh wlan show drivers" [no quotes] into the command prompt as an administrator, does it say you can supported hosted networks (has to say yes I believe)?

Okay i've moved significantly further in this mission to get instacheck working again! as someone said the sharing on one of hte networks may have been disabled (and it was). turned it on and instacheck starts! however, nothing can find the hotspot that instacheck has created. any suggestions? :)
thanks

Be sure the network is sharable and visible. If it is hidden, no one will see it. Check the properties of the hotspot to be sure it isn't hidden

I get this feeling that I'm being ignored .-.
Well let me fix that as much as I can hun! I'm sorry you feel ignored but I didn't want to answer a question that I didn't know the specific problem for. I've only noticed occasionally where doubles or triples show up and I just assumed it was from the egg just sitting there or maybe Instacheck scanned it multiple times? To be honest, I don't know why Instacheck sometimes multiplies the showed Pokemon. :(

So, my instacheck has been working fine up untill today. I do not shut down my computer and nothing has changed, so I don't know why it suddenly stopped working. I've tried everything I've seen on this thread, from using the command in cmd, to updating drivers, to disabling and re-enabling the adapter that it creates. I'm lost. I would really appreciate the help. This is the error:

The service cannot accept control messages at this time. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070425)

Edit: I've also restarted my computer and it didn't help.

well at least that's an answer :P But yeah, it never did until yesterday when I was helping a friend. And now it won't stop. :/ I even downloaded it again, just in case
