Need a bit more help with my Dusclops. I've been playing around with it on showdown, and noticed that it's able to tank hits from things such as Aegislash, Talonflame etc. My problem is that I don't know whether to run Toxic or Will-o-Wisp on it. With Toxic combined with Pain Split, I'm able to wear down a roosting Talonflame. With WoW however, I'm able to cripple Aegislash and make it somewhat useless against Dusclops. Here's the move list in case anyone missed it from a few pages back:

Dusclops @ Eviolite

-Hex
-WoW (for now)
-Infestation
-Pain Split

It's physically defensive by the way.

Get rid of Hex. Like completely. For example:

0 SpA Dusclops Hex (130 BP) vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Garchomp: 106-126 (29.6 - 35.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after burn damage
0 SpA Dusclops Hex (130 BP) vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Aegislash-Shield: 132-156 (50.3 - 59.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after burn damage

Infestation is a lot more useful than Hex ever will be. Night Shade and Seismic Toss are both more useful than Hex ever will be. Even putting Toxic over Hex and not using any attacking move (it's such Taunt bait already) is 100 times better than Hex can hope to be.

So this just happened:

I switched in a Gyarados on a Mega Gengar.
I evolved my Gyarados to Mega Gyarados, predicting my opponent would use Hypnosis.
My opponent did indeed use Hynosis, and it, uh, worked. Mega Gyarados went to sleep despite his dark typing.

What happened here? Shouldn't Mega Gyara have been immune to Hypnosis? Or does Hypnosis ignore Dark typing?

(This happened in-game in XY.)

Dark types can be put to sleep. You might be thinking of the new mechanic change where Grass types are immune to powder moves like Spore and Sleep Powder.

I can't seem to find an IV calculator that will let me manually plug in the information to calculate the base stats. Can anyone help me calculate the 3 event legendaries' base stats? Pokebeach provided all their stats at Level 100 with no EVs, and I wanted to calc. their base stats for 0 IVs with a Negative Nature and 31 IVs with a Positive Nature to get their potential range. If anyone else can do it, here are the stats:

Diancie - 222/236/300/236/344/135

Hoopa - 301/231/154/315/296/177

Volcanion - 275/254/276/247/235/176

how many EVs are needed to make a Modest Exploud outrun no investment base speed 70 mons? Base speed 80? Base speed 90?

Explouds base speed is 68 which nets you a speed stat of 172 with no Evs max IVs

You will need 20 Evs to outspeed base 70's with no investment

You will need 100 Evs to outspeed base 80's who have no investment

You will need 180 Evs to outspeed base 90s with no investment.

PS sorry about deleted message, IE wouldnt let me type and I posted hastily. Changed to Google Chrome :<

Good to know. I wouldn't have thought hypnosis was a "special" psychic move that got past the dark immunity.
I believe that Thunder Wave and powder moves are the only status moves affected by typing. Ghost Curse still affects Normal-types, Lovely Kiss still hits Ghost-types, and so on and so forth.

(At least I think that's how it works...)

I'm doing EVs on a Mega-Khan (assuming he won't be banned in smogon OU and even if he is, he'll still be accepted in other circles I'm sure). I've researched 2 camps and I can't decide which. One says 252 HP/ATK with remnants in spd the other 252 ATK/SPD with remnants in HP. I assume the HP path makes her bulkier while the speed version makes her better at taking out high priority threats. My question is: Which is "better" on a team that already has a Greninja and Mamoswine for sweepers and a Klefki setting up screens (the two others are Skarmory and Tyranitar, both are my DEF and SPDEF tanks respectively).

If you're running 4 attacks then definitely the 252 atk/252 spe/4 hp one.

Will running Spikes instead of Stealth Rock on Skarmory be viable after Pokebank?

Viable as in it's legal or as in viable in the metagame? If it's the latter, then it's very viable. It's just that it's a lot easier to remove hazards now rather than before, so Stealth Rock (a 1-turn set-up move) is generally preferred over Spikes (stackable), just for that reason.

So that means it's perfectly usable in case your team already has something else to set up the rocks?
Spikes are fine, all he's saying is that hazards are harder to keep up this generation so Spikes are less preferable than Stealth Rocks in the same moveslot. If you're working a strategy around hazard damage, like a stall team, you just have to be aware of the threat from Defog, which will clear your hazards and can't be spinblocked.

So does that mean they just have a bunch of high tiered players vote on the matter?
Well, they reset the ratings, so everyone has to prove themselves. They don't just take high ranked players and throw votes around :P. Everyone starts at 1000 and have too climb too reach the requirements of 1900-2000 (usually around there).

Hey is there a thread where someone has looked systematically into the "hax" in the subway? Either statistical tests or looking at the games' data? I'm aware of the results, I just want a link.

I'm not sure what the question is. Hax is determined by RNG, random number generator. I don't think you can really look into it systematically, because RNG is what it is.

You know, with all the people claiming that the CPU has a distinct advantage (hitting more often, more crits, etc.), I know Smogon's done research on this before and I'm just looking for the thread again.

Try checking on the Orange Islands subforum, Darknut. This is the competitive board so most of the people here tend to care more about the simulators and PVP; I'm pretty sure there's at least a Maison thread over there.

So I just captured a shiny swalot, and I would like to EV train it. However since it's bashful natured, I do not know what EV's in which stats would benefit it the most. Additional Info: Lvl. 30, female, bashful natured
Stats:
HP - 104
Att - 58
Def - 60
SpAtt - 52
SpDef - 65
Spd - 44
