Okay, here is a good breeding question: Which of these should I use to breed with a Gible to get better IVed Gible? The choices are:

Hardy Gyarados with 31 IVs in HP, Defense, and Speed

Docile Milotic with 31 IVs in Attack, Defense, Special Attack, and Speed

The reason I ask is that the Gible I got was Jolly but with 3 IVs in speed.

What about the attacks, the level and the place where it was last caught? What you say lets me say its legit.
 
lv 50, Adamant, it's been trained, and arrived from the Hoenn region. It's attacks are

Pound
Metrenome
AncientPower
Psychic

hasn't maxed out EVs yet, but it's been trained
 
OK let me ask my simple question here, so I don't get scolded by a mod again :D

I want to use a "mixpert" to counter dragons. The Swampert analysis recommends a Relaxed nature but I'm using Quiet, because I don't feel like breeding for another nature. So with my +SpAtk nature, how many EVs does it take to reach 236 SpAtk, the magic number to OHKO a min HP/SpDef Salamence with Ice Beam?

And as a follow up, should I distribute the remaining EVs more into HP or Defense?

Why would you put Sleep Talk on a Choice Bander? Anyways, just a guess, but if your pokemon was put to sleep and you returned it, then sent it out again, and the Sleep Talk selected a physical move, it still wouldn't get the boost, since Sleep Talk was your original move. Just like how Sleep Talk doesn't get Speed Priority on Speed Priority moves

If it -did- work I'd switch in my sleeptalker on a predicted hypnosis/sleep powder/whatever and then proceed to cause merry hell. Pity it doesn't work.
 
Can anyone tell me why my Riolu's im breeding keep comming out with steadfast and not inner focus? I'm using a lucario with inner focus and a ditto to breed but i keep getting steadfast. Why?

Hmmmm.....maybe because it's a 50% chance no matter what you do....
 
To the breeder, use the milotic as hp isnt as likely to pass on so its better to have parents with good ivs in other stats.

To the sleep talk person, yes Choice band will give a boost to your sleep talk move, but sleep talk will fail after you use it once. I have not tested this but I know it to be true from reading the boards. You might want to test it your self, its not that hard just find a 2v2 battle with the vs seeker.

Now for my question. When will DP tiers/tier testing be discussable?

After Competitor, when we can toy with the Pokes all we want.
 
If I Skill Swap over Slow Start, can I use Heart Swap to remove the effects caused by it and transfer them over to my Opponent, if so, will the effects only last for 5 Turns for my Opponent or be Permanent?

That's all I can think of. As far as I know there aren't factors that influence ability passing-down

lol, if the info we're getting from the competitor updates thread is accurate, we probably wont even have competitor by march.

Not many Pokemon do mixed sweeper well. Blaziken, Arcanine, Swampert (mixed tank), Lucario, Tyraniboah.

steadfast is better anyways, and heres why: with inner focus you're preventing flinching from moves like Togekiss' Air Slash or Gyarados' Waterfall. With Steadfast, you flinch, but then your speed rises by 50%, allowing you to outspeed anything that matters on the next turn. Since in order to get flinched you have to be slower than your opponent, this speed boost allows you to possibly sweep the rest of your opponents pokemon, especially with all the physical and special options available to Lucario.

EX: Inner Focus

Turn 1:
Foe Togekiss used Air Slash!
Lucario used Close Combat!

EX: Steadfast

Turn 1:
Foe Togekiss used Air Slash!
Lucario flinched!

Turn 2:
Lucario used Close Combat!

Same results except now you get possible 420 speed stat with a neutral speed nature and 453 if you're running +speed nature.
 
Against Me, I think in that scenario, Lucario would die after using close combat.

But both of those natures arent worth the hassle anyway, ivs are more important.
 
i know its too situational and will probably only help you one time in 50, but he was the one trying so hard to get Inner Focus Lucario, i was just explaining to him that Steadfast is better so he should just take it
