I was expecting Tauros to be a big threat in Sydney, no one used it though. I was surprised at the amount of bulky water/Electivire combos in Sydney, as well as the complete lack of Countersash Gengars (I had the only one; the ability to OHKO an opponent's Weavile/other physical lead on turn 1, Destiny Bond the slower switch in, as well as the ability to OHKO stuff like slower Starmie is incredibly valuable when that may me all they have.)
For reference, here was the team I used for the majority of the battles (had a Weavile and Azelf in the wings, never got to use them though).

I'm the guy who did FEAR phanphy to some kid on the big screen. Highlight of the day, had so much fun.
I was also Jesse int he Team Rocket thing. I totally didn't authorise PlasmaDavid's extention of the song.

Ahh yes, yeah I was top 16. Damn your Garchomp I should've known you'd use Earthquake and switch to either of my other, ground resistant Pokémon. Then again I can't think how I could've gotten Metagross back in and attack first with Ice Punch.

Yeah you pretty much completely dismantled me.
Hate to tell you this but you're actually wasting, oh, 10 EV points with those setups. We were battling at level 50. If I'm not mistaken, 8 EV points = 1 stat point at 50. Not 4.
Yeah next time a big tourn comes round like that i'll be using a different team

eww, at least its better than september. but still, thats like, 3 months from 07 connection... i'd like, die if i tried to enter this one
