When you Sleep Talk a Priority move, is the priority modifier ignored? Ie: Mach Punch becomes a basic attack, whirlwind isn't last, etc?

Alright I just just two questions both fairly simple it's just that I've been away from pokemon for so long what with the mrs and work and stuff anyway.

#1: After freshly breeding a pogey is lvl 20 a good lvl to check it's IVs? Cus I really don't wanna have to go hunting with my munchlaxes anymore lol

#2: After you catch a pokemon can you check it's IVs right then and there? Or should you lvl it up a bit? I mean obviously if it's really low leveled lvl it up with the candies but what if say it's lvl 30?

Thank you in advance for the answers.

Yeah, Sleep Talked moves always have basic priority.

Level 20 and above is a decent level to check IVs. As long the Pokemon didn't gain any EVs via battling/vitamins, that is. After catching a Pokemon, it's IVs can be checked immediately.

What are some good phazer/Hazers? I desperately need one for my team, especially against Special Sweepers.

Just in case anyone snarkily suggests Blissey for scaring away Special Sweepers, I have to say Blissey (and any other wall for that matter) is set up fodder.

An Arceus question.

[SET]
name: Deoxys "stopper" #1
move 1: Judgment
move 2: Recover
move 3: Filler
move 4: Filler
item: Bug Plate
nature: Calm
evs: 252hp/208spatk/48spdef

In the analysis for this set, Surgo talks about Psycho Boost running rampant over it. I was just wondering, couldn't a Dark Plate essentially stop that in its tracks? A Superpower weak comes into play, but the only other Deoxys stopper is pulling that, too. Any reason I'm totally overlooking to not use it?

According to SPP, Wurmple evolves into Silcoon or Cascoon at level 7. If its personality value is equal to or lower than 4, it evolves into Silcoon and if its personality value is equal to or greater than 5 it evolves into Cascoon. What does all this mean and how can it be chosen?
Bump, it wasn't really answered properly before.

I'm pretty sure the personality value is random. Just use Uberwurm instead! :)

(It's MikkelDemey's Wurmple that he used in a Wurmple-only ingame challenge in the 3rd gen; the Wurmple was the only one he actually used for battle)

The Personality Value determines if the pokémon will be shiny or not, its Nature and gender. It's something fixed when the pokémon is created, like the IVs (however, when breeding, it's decided when the egg is created; the IVs are randomized when the old man gives the egg to you).

However, as far as I know, the Personality Value has 6+ digits; saying Wurmple evolves into [whatever] when it's just 4 doesn't seem right. I think Wurmple simply have a 50-50 chance of evolving into Silcoon/Cascoon; what are the exactly Values is beyond me, but you don't need to know that.

You could try lol Whirlwind Snorlax. There really aren't any good special walling phazers or hazers. The closest you'll get are Mantine and Milotic.

The other topic didn't seem to help, so I'll ask this breeding question here:

OK, so I have this offspring Female Tangela: 31 / 1 / 31 / 24 / 24 / 5 and this Male parent: 31 / 1 / 13-14 / 23-24 / 27-28 / 25-26 with this Ditto parent: 4-5 / 28 / 31 / 0-1 / 28 / 4-5 as well as this Male Bulbasaur: 10 - 21/27 - 30/22 - 24/31/15 - 19/25 - 26

I figure I have three options here: Keep breeding with the current Tangela and Ditto, use the Male Parent and Female Offspring and hope for the best, or breed the Bulbasaur with the Female Tangela, which should I go with?

Breed the Bulbasaur with the female Tangela.

If I have a Smeargle with Protect and Detect could I alternate and have him be shielded intill PP runs out?

I believe that it won't work...Read this somewhere, can't recall, but they said the chance of Detect + Protect working would halve each turn just like Protect and Detect singularly would.

Speaking of Protect, can anyone explain why things like these happen in a singles match... (so A and B are opponents)

Pokemon A used Protect!
Pokemon A protected itself!
Pokemon B used Protect!
But it failed!

...and does this mean that Pokemon A can use Protect with 100% accuracy on the next turn?

if you have a lonely electavire with like 20 iv in attack and 6 iv in special attack, would it be better to have him as a mixed sweeper or a physical sweeper?

who are some really good UBERS? need for my uber team

so far, i got
kyogre
blissey
darkrai
giratina
palkia

Endure is also part of the same probability chain. Robo Mike, Pokemon A will have a 50% chance of using Protect successfully the next turn.

Rayquaza is an extremely good physical sweeper. Deoxys (if you can get one) is feared by just about everything. Though if you don't pack a dragon-resist (aka Metagross) a opposing DD Outrage Rayquaza will most likely pwn you without thinking twice.

I received this Latios from tie gts. It's shiny and it says it's from a "Distant Land" also that it arrived at lv. 100. Where is that? Possible hack?
