Hey all this is my time putting up a team to rate for others and I hope that its somewhat decent. Ill try to make all my descriptions as detailed as possible since i would very much appreciate help on this team since im somewhat new to competitive pokemon and im not quite good at team building yet. (ALOT of credit goes to BenTheDemon for helping me for the skeleton of this team)
So first we have the star of the party, my favorite pokemon Dragonite.
-Dragonite-
-Jolly Holding:Weakness Policy-
-EVs:252 HP 36 Attck 220 Spd (been thinking of taking points out of speed for attack but idk)
-Moveset: Dragon Dance, Dragon Claw, Earthquake, and Roost
Once he gets going there's almost no stopping him. Running the typical set up sweeper set on him that tends to get the job done. Weakness policy adds a sheer amount of hilarity to this set as my greatest weakness activates in trap card-esque faction to let me one shot my way through a team. Through experience I've learned most of the things that one shot through multi scale so at this point I use him very confidently. Next up i realized I needed 2 major things for dragonite to work. One hazard control and 2nd a partner or 2 that could remove the things that dragonite is incapable of dealing with like priority Ice Shard on mamoswine of life orb greninja.
Ben recommended Aegislash
-Aegislash-
-Brave Holding:Leftovers-
-EVs: 252 HP, 252 attack, 4 speed-
Moveset: Shadow Sneak, Sacred Sword, Swords Dance, King Shield
Aegi definitely provides a nice buffer for when I see a mamoswine on their team and I need to stop sweeping with Dragonite. He also provides a nice secondary win condition of his own since when Dragonite fails I have a sort of fall back to rely on. That and I can use aegi to draw earthquakes and earn my Dragonite a free switch in (if the matchup itself is favorable to allow Dragonite to set up sweep and if the things that wall him are gone)
-Excadrill (mold breaker)-
-Adamant Holding: Assault Vest-
-EVs: 120 HP, 136 Attack, 252 SpDef-
Moveset: Rapid Spin, Iron Head, Earthquake, Rock Slide
Ben originally recommended starmie for my spinner but after A LOT of use I realized I had way too many water types on my team and it was a massive hindrance to the teams overall structure. So after much though i decided on Excadrill because he hits hard, gives me a free switch into electric users (solving my elec weakness) and iron head destroys fairies (not to mention mold breaker makes Rotom W cry :D)
-Greninja-
-Timid holding: life orb-
-EVs: 252 SpAtck 252 Spd 4 HP
Moveset: Ice Beam, Dark Pulse, Hidden power Fire, Hydro Pump
I needed a strong special sweeper that could remove the threats that my current pokes couldnt like physical walls so i settled on Greninja. Nothing is more delicious than one shotting a ferrothorn with hidden power fire and such. Greninja acts as a very versatile pokemon that deals with a lot of threats thanks to his speed, sheer power, and moveset. Also since my team lacks a proper lead Greninja acts a pseudo lead a lot of the times since he can handle MOST of the things that anyone sends out
Azumarill-
-Jolly/Adamant holding: CB-
-EVs: 252 HP, 252 attack, 4 speed-
Moveset: Waterfall, Play Rough, Super Power, Aqua Jet
Azumarill was also recommended by Ben but I never got him to tell me in detail why so ill just tell my experience so far with him. He serves as an extremely effective Talonflame check when I protect him and manage to get him a good swap. By good swap I mean switching him in after losing a poke doe since Azumarill cannot take 2 brave birds and live on the other side. He can one shot with Aqua Jet but killing Talonflame becomes this game of getting it to kill itself and forcing it to switch of finding a time to sleep it. It gets rather hard BUT I cannot say I have a massive issue with Talonflame. He is tough but usually I find someway to poop on it. I'm assuming Ben recommended him as a good check to talon and a solid water type physical user
-Mega Venusaur-
-Bold Holding: Mega stone-
-EVs: 252 HP, 252 defense, 4 SpAttck-
Moveset: Giga Drain, Sleep Powder, Sludge Bomb, Synthesis
Rotom W and other such bulky water types were absolute monsters for my team since I had absolutely no way of handing them. Venusaur provided me a way to do this while giving me a strong tank and when I predict right (which I'm surprisingly decent at) allows me to put to sleep a dangerous threat when I predict a switch in (god I love predicting the Talonflame switch in and putting it to sleep)
Venusaur does his job and I have no big complaints. Maybe I should take EV's out of defense and put them elsewhere but idk. Maybe 252 special attack is better. Not quite sure on what I'd lose out on
Welp thats my full team. Thanks in advance for help, i look forward to discussing it all with you. O and btw i do not mind exchanging pokes in or out. Or if the team is just bad in general I dont mind scrapping it completley. Only thing that isnt changing is Dragonite. Though i will take advice on EVs, and move set for him c:
