Other Silly Things You've Seen On The OU Ladder: V2

Back when I first started PS I accidentally ran a banded Crawdaunt. Not too bad, right? Yeah, why was it a bad thing?

I ran Substitute.

And I did this multiple times in battles before actually changing it because I realized how stupid I was.

I just saw Quick Claw Donphan, oh wait, Donphan is silly enough already LOL. The rest of his team was actually okay.

One of the rules of this thread states that simply using a UU Pokémon in OU is not inherently silly. Which is why I didn't grill the other guy for using Leafeon, Gallade, or Empoleon. This isn't the "Suboptimal Sets You've Seen on the OU Ladder" thread, after all.

-Perish Song/Mean Look Gengar
-Perish Song Politoed
-Perish Song Absol

Since when was Perish Song viable? *-* Even on something with Mean Look?

Maybe he wanted to imitate his mega Gengar set? :3
Perish Song is pretty standard on Politoed though.

The opposing Aegislash used Giga Impact! Goodra lost 62.5% of its health! The opposing Aegislash's Gooey lowered its Speed!

The opposing Hydreigon used Tri Attack! Gardevoir lost 26.7% of its health!

The opposing Serperior used Giga Impact! Goodra lost 33.6% of its health! The opposing Serperior's Gooey lowered its Speed!

This is the new meta

This happened a long time ago but...

Back in the days of GSC where I was like seven and was trying to create "the ultimate team", I concluded that one member of said team should be a Gengar with Shadow Ball. And Perish Song. In GSC. It took me literally forever to figure out shadow ball did no damage.

Oh, another member was a Typhlosion with Fire Punch, Flamethrower and Sunny Day... eventually I decided it needed Dynamicpunch for coverage XD. Fire blast was too dumb on it because it didn't have 100% accuracy -_-

Things improved in ADV, where I actually had a clue about what moves to put on things. I had a pretty solid team for OU consisting of: Milotic, Salamence, Metagross, Sceptile, Skarmory and Rayquaza. See if you can spot the odd one out. Also Skarmory did not have spikes on it because entry hazards were lame XD (but at least it had leftovers, toxic and a few other support moves).

It was a Wi-Fi battle, but still...

Quick Claw, Torrent Greninja (which activated before my Entei's Extremespeed, so...).
Infernape using Aerial Ace... against my Landorus-T (after the Intimidate). Landorus had almost full HP.
Ferrothorn trying to Toxic my Metagross... twice.

And other things I can't recall atm.

Playing some Showdown:
Fire Punch Dusknoir who burned 2 times a row.
Nidoqueen in Overused.. without an Item
Umbreon trying confuse my Espeon.... 2 times
Azumarill with Sub + Belly Drum, but without Sitrus Berry

So I was just watching a battle. One person was using Donphan, because of course he was using Donphan. And he found himself against a Blastoise. So he probably figured "Well, I've set rocks and got no hazards on my side, better switch to something to not take a SE hit there." So he switched to Charizard.
Which took a Hydro Pump and fell as expected.

The Blastoise wasn't even mega. The team also contained Ampharos, Venusaur, Ttar, Machamp and Magmortar. Ttar was the mega.

I never said it could. You don't have to be able to 2HKO something to set up on it. All that matters is how much damage the opposing Pokemon can do do you, and Lava Plume, Flash Cannon, and Earth Power from Heatran barely dent Talonflame.
You... are aware that Heatran gets Roar and Stealth Rock and both are used on like, 90% of Heatran... aren't you?
