seriously? every single strategy out there relies on some sort of luck. by the removing luck based aspects of the game you are also nudering the entire meta game which means no one can use moves like focus blast or hydro pump because they are luck based or abilities like flame body and critical hits which are vital to get pass walls with annoying defensive set ups or that have huge defenses would be removed. im sorry but this is retarded because the meta game will no longer be fun because all moves that have below 100 base acc would be removed some abilities would be rendered useless or unusable. it is uncompetitive to remove said aspects of the game and expect the meta game run smoothly. a lot of things would be unviable because of said aspects being removed. the Nintendo VGC format is competitive because they don't limit what you can use except for major and event legends and the official pokemon ruleset is competitive. by limiting the choices of what we can use, it creates an uncompetitive environment for everyone which the major point of the game is to have fun, not to win or lose, its just to have fun.
What the fuck are you saying?

Could you please edit that so that the grammar is, if not perfectly correct, something remotely close to understandable? Because right now, that is a wall of random af words stuck together which don't make any sense.

I want to build a rain team, but I want something that's a reliable switch in to Jolteon and Thundurus-T without also being a huge gimmick that doesn't really service the team (i.e. Lanturn). Any suggestions as to what can check both (i.e. resists ice and electric for HP Ice and Thunderbolt, preferably resists fighting in case of Focus Blast too) and OHKO or capitalise on the switch (i.e. a set-up sweeper)? Maybe some sort of scarf user (who isn't OHKO'd by the pair, but can outspeed OHKO the following turn)?

To get a scope of what's currently going to be on the team, I'm going with Rain Dance Manaphy (U-Turn, Scald, Rest, Rain Dance), Life Orb Keldeo (using HP Rock to OHKO Charizard-Y, Surf to OHKO Hippowdon and Sacred Sword to OHKO Ttar) and Specs Latios (Psychic to OHKO Mega-Venusaur) - which is pretty decent and powerful coverage - but the BoltBeam weakness really hampers me. For the remaining team members I need another rain-maker, a physical heavy hitter, but most importantly something which doesn't fear ice or electric attacks.

Specially Defensive Gastrodon is the first thing that comes to mind.

A raikou or Jolteon of your own sounds like a decent check to thund, both also benefit from the rain.

You could however look into Latias over Latios. It isnt 2hkod by hp ice and ohkos with meteor after rocks. You do have to wary of u-turn and knock off on the switch.

Pretty sure he is butthurting here over the discussion about SwagPlay. Presumably because the main SwagPlay topic is locked.

I got a Modest Heatran with HP ice and just wanted some suggestions for it's moveset/IV spread. Found so much different ones that I got a little confused. Though maybe Choice Specs could be a good ideia and I know it really depends on it's role in a team, but wanted a few ideias. Just one thing: transfer only moves are not available, so no Stealth Rock. :/

If you ask me, the best set for a Modest Heatran would be a Specs or even a Scarf set, although it could use the +speed nature to outspeed shit like Greninja..

Scarf Heatran is pretty excellent in today's metagame though. Checking things like Mega Pinsir etc.

Thanks for the insight. Would you recommend 4 HP/ 252 SATK / 252 SPE or should I aim for a more particular spread? And is Scarf worth it even with Modest?

To my surprise, Heatran -can- outspeed Greninja with a Scarf even when using Modest nature.. so yes, it's worth it! And yes, go for that simple EV spread.

Is there a reliable way to stop baton pass chains? I run into these teams fairly often, and I feel like I never win without getting a crit in the first five or six turns.
roar, and if there is an espeon on the team, you'll usually want to carry a dark type pokemon or move on your team (knock off is pretty common throughout the metagame)
but dragon tail and circle throw is the best option since only they are immune to fairy and ghost

U-turn generally does not work well with SD. I'd suggest using drill run over it to gain coverage on obvious fire type switch ins. For the item, I'd recommend Assault vest, as 70/105 bulk + assault vest makes a great tank. Impish nature could work, but Adamant or Careful would probably be better. Also, Overcoat is a better ability. Finally, I'd suggest a spread of 252 Atk. / 248 HP / 8 Sp.D
how do you get knock off/drill run?

Question - Pokemon Online used to have a pokedex that would cross reference pokemon moves. For example, I could enter the moves "Taunt" and "Stealth Rock" and it would spit out Aerodactyl, Deoxys, etc. You could specify type, stats, etc. Very useful for building teams.

I downloaded the newest release and the pokedex button is greyed out - what gives? How can I access this feature on pokemonOnline or some other system that works equally well?

Has SwagPlay been banned from OU yet? I haven't seen any word on what the OU council's decision is.
Neither have the rest of us, they're supposedly still discussing.

Yeah just go to showdown and type, e.g., "/dexsearch stealth rock, taunt". You can even search for pokemon types and tiers (as well as abilities like HAKR said). (but for types you have to add "type" rather than just the type name, e.g. "fighting type" not just "fighting")
