My laptop broke, so I hooked up an older computer with windows XP, but whenever I try to play either in browser or the client, I just get "You have been disconnected – possibly because the server was restarted.".
How can I connect?
Whenever I use something connected to WIFI showdown works, but if I hook it up via Ethernet cable it can't connect. Tested on my xbox, worked when on wireless, but not when using the ethernet cable.
Its laggs too much to play on xbox, so I would love to find a fix, Thanks!

I think it's because your Ethernet cable might be broken. I have a computer that is hooked up to an Ethernet cable as well and it works just fine.
But, its connecting my computer to the internet..., only showdown isn't working

Maybe the server is lagging or something is just wrong with your computer, as you stated it is old so it might be a possibility. :/
Scroll down those until you get to "Moveset Statistics". Those links contain common moves, abilities, items, common team member and most used checks/counters.
Edit: Also, this have the most relevant statistics for you to pick through.
Recently, when I have tried to log onto PS I have been stuck on the same screen, unable to do anything other than edit teams. I would start a battle, but it forces me to choose a name and when I enter mine, nothing happens. Is this a sim issue or one on my computer? If it is my own, how do I fix it.

it is a sim issue, it appears you have registered but the sim isnt understanding that you have a name, you may have to delete your cookies and try a new username
This happened 2 me. Register when the chat rooms display.

That happens to a lot of people, and is probably due to the lag caused by all the battles/ users online at once.
This is the screen I am stuck on. I tried clearing cookies, cache etc. and it didnt work.

have you tried playing on the downloadable client? That may work better for you

Glad to hear, the downloadable client is a good fix to some common browser errors. Remember you can also save your teams onto your computer using the downloadable version, and there's some cool stuff planned for it in the future.
The client is definitely helpful. I had been rating teams based purely on theorymon and past experience so now I can actually use showdown reliably.

I recall there being a system like this for the old PS forums, but right now you'd need to PM an administrator (~) to have a password reset. A list of the staff can be found here.
Something strange happened after I came home from vacation:
I try to connect to Showdown, it doesn't work. I try the SmogTour server, as well as other servers, but it still doesn't work.
However, if I use Incognito-mode, or whatever it's called, I can connect to whatever I want. This is kinda annoying as I can't save my teams there, and having to copypaste them everytime is boring too.

Try connecting with https, as in https://play.pokemonshowdown.com
Still doesn't work :/
Try the downloadable client. Just remember to backup teams when you're done.
