I did, it was just being difficult the first couple times I guess? I thought it might've been because the Pokemon was a level 100, but apparently that doesn't matter.
I usually just have the pokemon next to each other in the party and run in grass finding random encounters. I just run from each encounter, and after about seven or so encounters I check to see if it has infected the other pokemon yet. It usually has by then.

Yep, apricorn and HA are impossible. Apricorn balls were only available in 2nd and 4th gen, while HA wasn't around until 5th gen.
