Somewhat of a newbie here. I like to think I have somewhat of a handle on breeding, but I've come across a bit of a speedbump.

I'm trying to breed up a couple 5 / 6 iv tyrogue for myself. Right now in the daycare center I have:

Hitmonlee @ Everstone - Adamant / Reckless 31/x/x/31/31/31
Ditto @ Destiny Knot - Quiet / Limber 31/x/x/31/x/31

Unfortunately I don't have any 4iv Ditto's lying around. Is this the best way to go about getting the iv's I need, trying my luck with the RNG? Should I forego the Everstone for now and slap a power item on someone to force the iv's I want and then breed from there until I get the Adamant nature again?

100% male pokemon.....how troublesome.

I'm looking at this thread for Aegislash, and I want to know why are we using Quiet nature, maxing SpA EV, but using 2/4 physical attack spells?

The mmost you are likely to hatch will be the same as your hitmonlees Iv's. Find something else in its egg group with like 31/31/31/x/x/x Actually any ditto with the attack and defence Iv's could do you could. Just use a 3iv ditto and apparently finding a 4iv ditto there is like q 1/1300 chance(or around that). When I started breeding I just googled pokemon x and y breeding guides and I think I found an amazing one here before. I hoped I really helped, but someone else can probably explain it better.

Because the most spammable move is Shadow Ball and you want it to be as powerful as possible. The other moves are just the icing on the cake i guess. Quiet nature and 0 speed ev's allows you to outslow other aegislash that don't do that, so they hit you in shield form and you can hit them in blade form - But there's like a million Aegislash sets, he's really versatile in what he can do, so I'd say take one of the sets and tweak it to what you like.

What do you recommend I take instead of Iron Head with my nature and ability?

If I may suggest, I would use this type of Garchomp:
Garchomp @ Lefties/Experbelt (Maybe Life orb)
Jolly nature
252 Atk, 252 Speed, 4 HP
-Dragon Claw
-Earthquake
-Swords Dance
-Stone edge, Iron Head, Poison Jab, Fire (BAN ME PLEASE) or something that would provide good coverage for your team. I have seen some Toxic Garchomps as well which completely over threw me.

What's the math when it comes to the defensive stats? Like if someone with 100 attack hits someone with 200hp and 200 defense. Is it just addition? I never looked directly into and assumed it was simply addition or something.

Thanks for the tip! I think I only have ditto's to work with since I think only the female passes down the species, but I'll definitely try your suggestion out.

The attack formula multiplies ((2/5 the level) +2) with the attack and the base power of the move, then divides by the defense, then divides by 50, then adds 2, then applies a host of other multipliers. The damage percentage is simply the result of the damage formula divided by the maximum HP times 100%

So, that April Friendly tournament on the Pokemon Global Link... That only allows the use of pokemon found only in the Kalos dex, correct? If so, what would be a good replacement for Mandibuzz on the following team:

Lead Crobat, ChestoRest Rotom-H, Swords Dance Mega Mawile, Assault Vest Azumarill, Physically Defensive Ferrothorn

Yeah, only females (barring few exceptions like Nidoran's and Ditto breeding) pass down species. Unfortunately, trying to breed genderless and male-only pokemon can be a very big pain. As someone already mentioned, try to find a Ditto with Attack and Defense IV's (or atleast one of the two) and breed with that (the SpAtk IV is doing you no good). And, as always, when you breed a better pokemon, use that for breeding instead.

How does one check Mega Manectric or Charizard-Y while using a Rain team?

Rotom-Heat checks both of them rather well, and I imagine it still has its uses even in the rain. Otherwise, Gastrodon is nice for Mega Manectric, and Blissey is hardly scratched by either.

Do you have something that can handle both mewtwos, xerneas, and yveltal already?

Don't worry about hazards in 3v3, matches are too fast paced and hardly anyone uses them so it's not worth bringing a defogger/spinner

With a little prediction, my team can wear them down, but I can see them being an issue in the hands of a skilled player.

I am sad to lose Mandibuzz from my team not because she was a Defogger, but because she functioned very well as a wall. She was also my primary Dark, Ghost, and Psychic resist as well as my answer to Aegislash and other physical sweepers. I have been considering a bulky Krookodile, but I am not sure how well it would work.

Excluding Garchomp, What Choice Scarf users can outspeed and ko +1 Mega Charizard X?
Terrakion works. Life Orb (not Scarf!) Deoxys-S also outspeeds and OHKOes with Psycho Boost. You can also Thunder Wave it with Thundurus. There are more ways to revenge it, but this is what I thought of right away.

What are some good members to form an offensive core with Life Orb Terrakion? I know that it's checked by things like Skarm, Lando-T, Mega Venu (to an extent) and a few other things but I can't think of other mons to overwhelm Terrak's checks and counters. I was thinking Bisharp and some special attacker, but I'm pretty unsure. Any help?

I remember either SD Lucario or Keldeo will be paired with Terrakion last generation. Latios was also used alongside Terra in BW2. Haven't used Terra this generation so take this with a pinch of salt

No...for a spinner, Excadrill. Excadrill is more of an offensive Pokemon, but I think it's the best spinner in the tier as of now, and Mandibuzz is a good physically defensive mon with access to Knock Off, another great move this Generation. Other spinners and defoggers include Latias (a good specially defensive Pokemon) and Mega Blastoise (nice, has Mega Launcher Dark Pulse which takes care of most Ghost-types, but it has no recovery, gets worn down quickly sometimes, and also takes up a Mega Slot). Since you have Talonflame on your team, it gets walled by Rotom-Wash and Tyranitar, both of which Excadrill can beat, so I would suggest Excadrill.
How would you set up a specially defensive latias for defog support?

Thank you

Is there a way to reset my ladder stats that doesn't involve making an alt?
Nope. You'll have to wait until the next time the ladder is reset.

Specially defensive Latias isn't very good this generation because it's just so weak and Latias relies heavily on its speed tier to be effective. Offensive Latias is good though. The standard (and really only) Latias set in XY OU is 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe @ Life Orb with Draco Meteor, Defog, Roost, and Thunderbolt or Healing Wish. It's still decently bulky and checks what it needs to, but it only really fits on offensive teams.

If you're looking for a reliable defensive hazard remover, Mandibuzz, Zapdos, and Skarmory are all great choices.

Oh, I like the Zapdos idea! How does a (specially) defensive Zapdos set work?
