if we got a decent centre half and a decent full back (flanagan's good but Johnson was shocking last night and us getting old) we could be the best team in Europe. Palace game certaintly was 'instanbul intensity' haha, i think im done to the season but you never know with the premier league and either the hammers or villa could beat city.

no. just... no.

to be legitimately in contention for the best team in europe you would need at least 1 elite cb, 2 elite fullbacks, as well as some help in midfield. Sign dani alves (who apparenty is being shopped around), hummels, gundogan, and coentrao and then maybe we can start talking about best team in europe...

Sorry but Liverpool would not be in the same class as Barca, Real, Bayern, Atletico, Dortmund.
I don't think Liverpool are better than City. Liverpool needs to maintain this form for next season in the league and make sure they qualify for the Cl for the following season.

Liverpool a couple of good things going on atm.
1. A good manager
2. Cl income to finance their debt/ invest in their squad.
3. One of the best players atm in Suarez and a good striker in sturridge beside him.
4. A good midfield.

Liverpool for next season need to focus on getting a top 4 place, and then grow from there.

unless Real Madrid come calling.

Contrary to popular belief, we do not struggle when Suarez is not in the team. In fact, we have a higher win percentage when he is not on the field.

We will improve next season even more, I'm confident. People will point out the no europe 'advantage' but it's honestly the biggest load of bs I've heard. Just hopeful man utd fans trying to get their hopes up.

How many teams without europe have managed to challenge for the title? The truth is we finished 8th with kenny without being in europe. It's obvious something has gone right this season. Even if we don't invest a lot in the summer, I'm sure we'll do well in the CL and the PL. Atletico madrid have proved that you don't need a huge squad to compete in both the league and europe.

I want Liverpool and Arsenal to marginally improve so that they can keep United out of the top four. I've had United scum in my face all week, they say: "Haha no trophies for you" and I just say: "No trophies AND Champions League for you in the next season as well as a season or two after that." It sure does feel good to say that.

Also read an article that said that Fabregas has been transfer listed by Barcelona. Would he be a good signing for us ? He used to be really good but I don't watch La liga so I wouldn't know if he's still good.

i was exgaggerating to prove a point (our defense is shit) :) by no means would we be the best teams in Europe with teams like real Madrid performing like they are. I also think i forgot to put 'one off' in front of best in Europe. Suarez said he wanted to stay so heres hoping Madrid don't come calling

edit: read it wrong, deleted

True. I don't agree with people who say that if Suarez leaves, Liverpool are in danger. For the large amount of money you'd get, I'm sure you could buy a few world class players.

He would be an ideal partner for Matic but it seems a bit of a unrealistic signing.

It differs on a team by team basis. Look at Arsenal for example running on fumes since January. They could kill for some nice reserves.

He's been very irregular this season, but he was by no means bad, it's just that after winning so many trophies in recent times Barcelona fans/press can't stand ending the season without a trophy. So basically: he was arguably the most important player for Barcelona and performed on a consistently high level, until February, that is. From February on advance he's been mediocre and hasn't had much of an impact on games, but to be honest I think that his main problem this season has been not performing well in important games.

He's definitely not playing as well as when he was in Arsenal, though.

Nobody is getting Cesc, he stays in Barca or else I will personally take Wenger hostage and slap him until he decides to buy him back. Ozil can play on the wing.

Liverpool fans should be thrilled if Suarez leaves. Assuming that he goes to Madrid (if he's going anywhere, it's there imo), they could get Benzema and spend the rest on a world class defender or two and a midfielder and they'll be challenging for the title next season.

Luiz Gustavo over Leiva is understandable. He has played well for Wolfsburg this season.

Kaka not going isn't really a surprised. Has been ok for Milan this season but just about ok.
Roberto firmino has been outstanding this season and for me been better than the likes of Kaka, Coutinho, Ronaldinho, etc but he isn't going.

The biggest surprise for me was filipe luis not being in the squad.
For me he has been the best lb this season, certainly better than marcelo and maxwell.

Lucas Leiva and Kaka not in Brazil squad but Paulinho who has done nothing all season make it. I know Kaka is not what he used to be, but you don't lose ability and he would really raise his game for his country. He also has experience in winning big trophies and winning matches on his own. Lucas has been brilliant this season unlike Ramirez and Paulinho. Can't comment on Luis Gustavo this season but there are at least two midfielders there who Lucas is superior to. I hope Brazil get shat on now.
yeah lets take a guy who has played 90 minutes for his club all of twice since mid january over guys who are playing every game for their club?_? Whether or not lucas has the quality, its that lack of playing time that really killed his chance. Also its really not fair to compare him to ramires or paulinho given they both would be playing as cms in brazil's 4-3-3, whereas lucas is a holding mid only. Luiz Gustavo is who he was fighting for the spot with, and although i can't speak to what gustavo has done this year... but its better than not playing

Filipe luis not making it is a big surprise to me, i would have had him starting

Filipe not being on the squad is a crime. He's been the best at his position this season without a doubt. I dislike Scolari because he's such an hypocrite so I really hope Brazil chokes at the World Cup.

If Atletico win against Malaga then Real madrid will have absolutely no chance of winning the title.
Atletico-> Win and a Draw wins them the title.
Barca-> Have to win both against Atletico and Elche
Madrid-> Have to rely on results elsewhere and their next match is going to be hard away to celta vigo.

DestinyUnknown I would have Miranda over David luiz but I think it's fair to say that Scolari made his mind up about the team after they won the Confed cup.
