Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.

Spiritomb begins the round by focusing the power of love and shadows in a Shadow-Turn combination! The attack deals severe damage, but Hell Lurker manages to hold own (Just barely).
The Gengar answers with Hypnosis and then Nightmare, dealing damage AND making Talona sleep for longer! I wonder what Spiritomb is dreaming....
Anyway, finally getting some time to breathe, Hell Lurker uses Confuse Ray to....confuse Talona!
This is getting bad for Shauntal (Somewhat). Will Jake manage to pull the upset of the year?

Don't forget Matezoide that combination cooldowns don't subtract from the sleep counter! Just like with Aegislash, so Spiritomb should still have 2 actions of sleep left. 2 action sleep+1 from Nightmare-1 from fast asleep on a3
Matezoide: Return has 10 BAP not 8. What's going on?
EDIT: Nevermind, forgot damage reduction for prio moves. Still, I thought Confuse Ray required the opponent to be able to actually see the light, or am I missing something?

"The user shoots out a bright beam of light towards its opponent, causing it to become confused."
Eh..
-You can see bright beams of light while asleep/with your eyes closed
-It doesn't say anything about the sight of the light causing the confusion just that shooting the beam at them does
-In-game you can confuse a sleeping Pokemon with Confuse Ray.
Similarly, Dazzling Gleam: "The Pokemon unleashes a dazzling flash of light that hits all opponents." Flash Cannon: "The Pokémon charges energy, and unleashes a beam of silver light. It has a chance of lowering the targets Special defense by one (1) stage." Judgement: "The user brings down wrathful light on the opponent. If the user is holding a type Plate, this move will change type to match it." Ligght of Ruin: "The user recalls many painful memories and fires the emotion as a blast of light. The user takes 50% of the damage dealt as recoil damage." Luster Purge: "The user floods the target with intense light, which has a chance of reducing the foe's Special Defense stat by one (1) stage."
Just because it is light-based, that doesn't mean you have to be awake to be hit by it.
Endure, Pain Split, Venoshock
=]
Also, I didn't realize that I should have 9 more EN because Will-O-Wisp hits through King's Shield and should have killed Aegislash, not Shadow Ball. It doesn't matter though because I luckily have just barely enough EN to complete this round.
It's important to be tough and resilient when you battle, don't you think? You have to accept that both sides will get hurt. You have to understand that the pain of losing is a natural outcome. If you just focus on winning, you can forget that the bond between you and your Pokémon is the most important thing. I try to focus on that bond in my novels. I want them to be full of heart and soul!
GG Youngjake! Even if it took quite a lucky break to get you in the match at the beginning, you certainly put up a fierce fight, especially considering you're still young in ASB (pun unintended). I'm looking forward our next battle!
