UU Simple Questions Thread

In the meantime though encore or double boosting sets are great if you want to use a generally inferior porygon z. I've used both and it's basically impossible to set up without screens or on select defensive Pokemon (always risky) without encore

Synchronoise will only outdamage Boomburst on Crobat, Hawlucha, Meloetta-p, Drifblim, Archeops and Aerodactyl. But it's only 30 points stronger than boomburst on the first three (240 vs 210), and only 15 points stronger than boomburst on the latter two (120 vs 105)
 
I am confused. Which usage stats do UU use?
It's OU 1695, OU 1760...?

When are the usage stats going to be considered and we'll see a metagame shift?

Use the 1695 as it's what we use for tiering. Wrong tiering, koko is right with the 1760 from ou->uu.

From what I understand, pokémon such as Gardevoir, Manectric, and Smeargle should be OU and Volcarona and magnezone should drop to UU.

Usage based tier updates are every 3 months but any current BL mon, like magnezone, will remain BL even if the usage dips below the cut-off. BL mons are being retested individually aside from the usage stats.

I see. So, next tier shift will likely be next month? The last one was in february, right?

Say that Garchomp-Mega, Xerneas, and Zekrom each have 1 use in UU... (653/654/655 are were they're located on the list) I'm just curious why? I know that was UU Beta and there were some things in there that ended up in OU/BL, but how did two Ubers and an already OU Pokemon get a use in UU? If they were UU for any period of time, I can't imagine only one person noticed and only used them for one battle. Just curious. Thanks.

It's just a simulator glitch. These mons were never actually allowed in the ladder.
 
Rookie kid here, but how come Cacturne is so viable all the sudden, I remember reading he was way too slow to be viable?

ALSO: how come Klefki was banned when the majority said he was fine

Slowbro/Suicune/Vaporeon are all very common and cacturne gets water absorb and a decent enough movepool to be useful

And for a poke to stay in UU after a retest vote it needs 2/3 the votes.

Hey guys I am really new here and tell me if I'm not in the right thread, but I had this UU team that I loved but now that my Magnezone is banned I don't know what to replace it with. Do you guys have any 1 on 1 replacement for him or do you guys want to see my whole team to make some changes?

Well, Magneton can function in the exact same way as Magnezone, except slightly worse. It will fill the exact same role, so your team should be fine.
 
Magneton is a lot more frail than Magnezone though with -20 base stats in HP,Def and SpDef. Should I maybe try out Mega Manectric? Volt-Switch, Thunderbolt, Flamethrower, Hidden Power Grass/Ice?

In this initial settling-out phase, in which they've banned a wide variety of Pokemon and are quickly retesting them, something which ended up on the initial banlist requires a 2/3 supermajority UU vote to be reintroduced. Klefki fell one short of the 8 UU votes it needed.

I wouldn't worry about it, to be honest. They're not in UU.

Oh wow that sucks, Was this pre o post the swagger ban?

Also: is the tiers about strengh, or just plain useage since the hippo is really high on the OU thread of viability, far better than pokes like infernape, who are still locked away, never to grace the UU tier?

No. The council banned it after swagger was already banned. It was banned for Spikes + Twave, I believe.
 
yeah priority twave and spikes, a good typing, and fairly decent bulk. he can also set up screens very well so yeah
