And heartbreak for Benfica yet again. Making it to the final for the second consecutive season is a great achievement though.

Tevez was never a part of the Argentina squad since the new coach stepped in.
Having one good season isn't going and shouldn't make the coach change his set up especially when he has messi in the same position and I can guarantee you Tevez won't like sitting on the bench.

Tevez not being in the Argentina Squad is such bullshit. This is just pure coach bias.
It's pretty simple actually. Is he gonna start when there's Messi, Agüero, and Higuaín who've been playing together since Sabella became the coach? No. Is he gonna stand being benched? Unless he suddenly grew up the last couple of years, experience dictates no. See: what happened with Maradona, Batista, and Mancini.

Believe me, there are many people here critizicing Sabella for not listing Tévez, saying that the squad being together or not doesn't matter, but you have to actually applaud Sabella for sticking to an idea when you have fucking Grondona next to you saying that Tévez should go to Brazil.

Of course if we don't win they'll lay all the blame on the coach, but that's to be expected. At least he's not taking players that never were part of the group like a certain someone did four years ago...

All that said, I still don't like the team and I've been struggling to for the past 8 years after Germany—where we might not have had so many amazing names, but we had a solid structure plus Riquelme for playmaking.

Edit: If anything I'd make a bigger case for Willy Caballero not being among the 30s when neither Romero nor Andújar played much this year, but it's not like they're gonna forget how to use their hands anyway.

Ugh my god people are dumb, of course Tévez is better than Palacio, no one's arguing that. But if neither is starting Palacio is the right choice because he's not a fucking cancer.

Nani in the World Cup squad.........I don't expect us to go very far because we're too dependent on Ronaldo, especially against the big teams. Varela and Quaresma probably had a better season than Nani imo.

Haha DestinyGallade liking my post in the first few pages doing a prediction of what I think is going to happen :p at least I was right about Liverpool! :)

HBK I remember when Russia lost to Portugal in the group, he tore us apart lol.
Luckily for you, Portugal will still get 2nd in the group ;)

They lost an unreal player (their main match-winner) and replaced him with 7 others, it was always a risk with more than 2-3 new players. The same will happen to Liverpool if they happen to lose Suarez and decide to splurge. I hope they don't of course!

Suarez is not as important to Liverpool as Bale was to Tottenham. While he is a world class player and our main man, Sturridge's goals have directly resulted in more points for us (15) than Suarez (12).

Bale always used to save Tottenham by scoring screamers in injury time. I've yet to see Suarez single-highhandedly win us matchs on a consistent basis. I would say we have a very good TEAM rather than an average one with a brilliant player (like Spurs when they had Bale).

tbf given tottenham ended up with only 3 fewer points than last year, without the disastrous management it would have been a reasonable assumption that they would have been competing for top 4 again.

I'm just mad i didnt make a post at the beginning of the season documenting the fact i actually had doubts about whether man u had the squad to hold up in contention for the league with everyone else improving

I never expected or predicted Liverpool to struggle per se but I didn't expect them to qualify for the Champions League either. And Tottenham's new look squad looked so good on paper that I was convinced that they'd finish fourth ahead of Arsenal. And Spurs have no one else to blame but themselves for this disaster of a season. What kind of job did they expect AVB to do after what he did at Chelsea?
The only reasonable argument is that Abramovich didn't give him enough time but Spurs didn't give him more than one season.

Predictions for tomorrow's cup final?

Arsenal with all the pressure, Hull city even though playing like shit lately, and we even demolished them in league, it's obvious they will come out and just pick us apart as we stand around and play really tense and stagnant. And even though Man City lost to Wigan in the final, the papers are going to absolutely love it.

3-1 Hull City. Ghost of Geovanni to score a brace, and a Koscielny own goal.

Hull to invoke the ghost of mourinho and park a solid bus, win in penalties after 120 minutes of 0-0

Martins to come on and score the winner in the dying moments of the ga... oh wait

@-nos: I think Suarez offers a lot more to Liverpool than what you make out, the problem with stats is they can be picked to support any argument. Watching Liverpool you get the sense that Suarez is the one magician who can make something out of nothing, he is a great passer too and has many assists and I've seen him pick out Sturridge and Sterling many times with great vision. I just think playing with him brings an extra freedom out of the rest of the players especially Sterling and Sturridge. If he leaves, their output could well drop. Plus he's the one star that teams genuinely fear, and every team needs that. He's like Belly Drum Linoone back in the day. You don't fuck around or try risky moves when you see Linoone lining up on the opposing team, that will affect your play.

FA Cup final :D holy crap what if we actually win...?

At the end of last season and at the beginning of this one, Suarez was serving his ban and we were doing extremely well. I know he's very important to us but not as important to us as much as Bale was to Tottenham. Spurs were fucking shite when Bale as not on the field.

Not that I want to sell him lol. He's our only world class player (maybe Gerrard as well).
