Overview
########
Goomy isn't a very good Pokemon in LC. It is outclassed by Chinchou as an offensive Eviolite user by Chinchou, outclassed by Mantyke as a RestTalk user, and as a bulky by Vullaby. Goomy also has bad stats outside of its Special Defense. It has pitiful 50/55/40 offensive stats, and its poor Defense and HP make it very vulnerable to physical attackers. It also relies on Eviolite to make up for its underwhelming Defense, making it seriously weak to Knock Off.
However, it isn't all bad for Goomy. First of all, It is one of only two special attacking Dragon types in the tier, and is blessed with three fantastic abilities. Gooey gives it a slight niche in the metagame, making it the only reason to use it over other Dragon-types in the tier. Overall, while there is very little reason to use Goomy, it has managed to carve itself a very small niche in Little Cup.

Eviolite RestTalk
########
name: Eviolite RestTalk
move 1: Dragon Pulse
move 2: Hidden Power Fighting
move 3: Rest
move 4: Sleep Talk
ability: Gooey
item: Eviolite
EVs: 156 HP / 156 SpA / 156 SpD / 36 Spe
nature: Modest

Moves
========
Dragon Pulse is Goomy's main STAB, letting it do some good damage to fellow Dragon-types in the tier. Hidden Power Fighting OHKOes Pawniard after Stealth Rock and takes care of other Steel-types, as well as other Dark-types. Rest is Goomy's best form of recovery that also rids it of status, and Sleep Talk ensures that Goomy isn't a complete sitting duck while asleep.

Set Details
========
Eviolite improves Goomy's subpar physical bulk, letting it make the most of Gooey. 156 HP and Special Defense EVs give Goomy optimal bulk and allow it to hit an Evolite number, with the remainder being invested in Special Attack and Speed to boost Goomy's offensive capabilities.

Usage Tips
========
Rest should be used when Goomy's health is low to fully restore its HP and rid it of any status, but remember it puts Goomy to sleep. Goomy can continue attacking while asleep via Sleep Talk, but keep in mind that it can fail and call Rest again instead.

While it is not recommended to stay in on physical attackers, Goomy can act as a bait for some with its poor physical bulk. Physical attackers that severely damage or KO Goomy will have their Speed dropped, which can often cripple the attacker.

Team Options
========
Goomy appreciates entry hazard supporters like Ferroseed. Hazards like Stealth Rock specifically allow Goomy to OHKO Pawniard with Hidden Power Fighting. Speaking of Ferroseed, along with other Steel-types like Pawniard and Magnemite, it can switch in and take a Fairy or Dragon attack for Goomy. Spritzee is also a good defensive partner thanks to its Dragon immunity; it can further support Goomy with Wish and Aromatherapy, improving Goomy's longevity. Poison-types are also good partners with Goomy as they can sponge Fairy attacks and set up Toxic Spikes.

Other Options
########
Goomy has a few other options it could try to pull off. Firstly, replacing Sleep Talk with Rain Dance, Gooey with Hydration, and Hidden Power with Toxic might sound like a good idea, but Goomy's poor Defense and HP hinders the usefulness of such a set. Hidden Power Ground can be used for Magnemite, but Hidden Power Fighting is generally more useful, with Electric-types not being common in the tier. Goomy can also use Hidden Power Fire for Snover, but it has little other use. Sludge Bomb can be used to hit Spritzee and Cottonee, but that is all it really does. Sap Sipper can be used to absorb Sleep Powder and Spore, but Gooey and Hydration are far better. Finally, Draco Meteor is Goomy's most powerful STAB. However, it lowers Goomy's already underwhelming Special Attack.

Checks & Counters
########
**Spritzee**: Spritzee is public enemy number one. It can take a Sludge Bomb or any of Goomy's other poor attacks, is immune to Goomy's STAB, and can proceed to either stall Goomy or KO it with Moonblast.

**Snover** Although Snover dislikes Hidden Power Fire and Hidden Power Fighting, it can 2HKO Goomy with Blizzard.

**Special Walls**: Special walls like Tentacool and Chinchou don't really mind Goomy's weak attacks can wear it down with Toxic.

**Setup users**: Pokemon that can set up, such as Shellder, Misdreavus, and Scraggy, can take advantage of Goomy's underpowered attacks, set up freely, and proceed to KO it.

**Powerful Physical Attackers **: Despite the Speed loss from Gooey, physical attackers in general, like Mienfoo and Pawniard, can severely damage or even KO Goomy due to its poor Defense.

You can take the "taken over from Orphic" out of the title. Just put it above the article. It seems weird. I don't know.

Moves - It seems like the only thing that Hidden Power Fire is hitting that isn't being hit by the other two listed is Ferroseed. Frankly, Ferroseed isn't that common and I question whether this merits being in the move set as opposed to OO maybe. And now I'm seeing that it actually loses you some speed. Yeah, I wouldn't say that it's worth it.

Usage Tips - You really have nothing else to say about playing Goomy than this? There is more to talk about, I'm sure.

Team Options - Remove mention of Murkrow and Meditite. I don't know if there's a rule about talking about past bans and stuff, but I don't like it. Yeah. That's justification.

Other Options - Remove mention of Murkrow

Checks and Counters - This should be formatted like this:
**Check or Counter**: Explain why this Pokemon, move, item, or whatever is a check or a counter.

But this isn't a real QC check. Just some ideas.

Thanks, I copy-pasted it :P

I'm not sure how well Goomey actually does with regards to checking things without Recovery, at least mention Restalk as an option? Also, why Thunderbolt?

I believe that Thunderbolt and Sludge Bomb should be replaced with Rest + Sleep Talk. Goomy wants recovery to do any kind of checking, and this is pretty much its only option since Hydration removes Gooey, which is probably Goomy's best niche. Thunderbolt is kind of random and does pretty much nothing that Dragon Pulse does not because of the lack of Water/Steel or Water/Fairy Pokemon in LC. Sludge Bomb is pretty much only for Spritzee, who can be dealt with by plenty of other Pokemon in the metagame. In their place, it gains the reliable recovery it needs to make use of its ability. Any Pokemon at 16 Speed or higher is still going to outspeed or tie Goomy after a Speed drop, so it needs at least 2 drops in order to outspeed most Pokemon. In order to take two hits and still be able to do something, it absolutely needs recovery. Therefore, I believe the addition of Rest and Sleep Talk to this set to be a good idea.

Remove Draco Meteor from the set and put it into Other Options, making Dragon Pulse the primary move. It's kinda weak, but if Goomy is staying in so long, the Draco Meteor Special Attack drops are going to completely ruin your damage output. It's not like Draco Meteor OHKOes anything relevant anyway, so you are better off with having more reliable damage.

Remove Hidden Power Steel from the OO section, and change HP Fire's description from "checks Ice-types" to "checks Snover" because that's all that does. HP Steel is worthless when you have Sludge Bomb.

Remove HP Ground from the main set and put that into Other Options, because Magnemite is nowhere near as common as Pawniard is. Being able to lure and OHKO Pawniard is pretty cool.

Like others have said, you need to put more into the Usage Tips section. One good point to mention is that Goomy requires 2 Speed drops to outspeed threats 16 Speed and faster.

  • The EV spread means Goomy can 2HKO Pawniard and Spritzee and also have a lot of bulk.
?_? you don't have any move to 2hko spritzee with? remove that part about spritzee imo. also make the spread 156 HP / 156 SpA+ / 156 SpD / 36 Spe. it gives you better bulk and you can actually hit Eviolite numbers. also make usage tips actually about how you should use goomy (don't sit in on physical attackers unless you can do anything significant to them, make sure to keep his hp high with ResTalk, and make sure you don't get set up on)

do that and qc 3/3

Holding the Eviolite provides boosts to Goomy's Defense and Special Defense, which allows it to make the most out of Gooey, the recommended Eviolite provides better bulk for Goomy to allow it to make the most of its Gooey ability. The EV spread is also used to get damage off on opponents.

I know this is done but this really bothers me:
"It is outclassed by Chinchou as an offensive Eviolite user by Chinchou"
Why not make it "It is outclassed as an offensive Eviolite user by Chinchou,"
