Ladder Balanced Hackmons

This is probably incredibly noobish, since I know next to nothing about BH, but would this set work against full stall teams?

Some bulky mon that's not weak to knock off @ Leppa Berry
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SDef / 252 HP / 252 Def / 252 SAtk
Bold/Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Substitute
- Taunt
- Recycle
- Milk Drink

Basically the idea would be to PP stall opposing stall teams to death, assuming they can't deal more than 25% on a pokemon with mold breaker, and 50% on a pokemon without mold breaker. It would be complete dead weight against offense teams since it doesn't do anything though, but maybe it could possibly work on stall teams that need a way to get around other stall teams. Bold would max. physical bulk, while Timid could potentially help taunt against fast mold breaker status mons that would happen to be on stall teams for some reason. I don't really know how common stall actually is though, and maybe I missed something important.

Parting Shot. Skill Swap. Imposter if it plays its cards right. Magic Bounce/Coat bouncing back Taunt. These are things that are quite common on Stall teams including my own, so no, it will not pp stall them to death. Also switching exists.

EDIT: Trick too

I've actually been using Sucker Punch Yveltal recently, a lot of people have been using Moonblast, it's really annoying. .-.

I would add Yveltal as a counter tbh, it's basically the only consistent one. Shedinja loses against Mold Breaker variants, which are common.
I think he's specifically talking about his Lightningrod/Electrify variation. Yes, still.

Yeah, Yveltal with sucker beats all gar variations. Unless for some reason you're running sub, judgment, electrify, thunderbolt

252+ Atk Yveltal Sucker Punch vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Mega Gengar: 266-314 (82 - 96.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Choice Specs Pixilate Mega Gengar Boomburst vs. 252 HP / 252 SpD Yveltal: 478-564 (104.8 - 123.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Pixilate Megagar lgi

That would be a waste of M-Gar's potential.

Figured I'd drop by here to say hi. I'm sort of new to this meta (dabbled a bit in gen 5, but only returned recently). Hit #20 on the ladder today:

Have gotten to play a few high level people recently. Still learning a lot and having a lot of fun.

I've played you and your team is pretty decent, and you know how to play better than most people on the ladder, keep it up!

Thanks, I appreciate it!

EDIT: What are people's opinions on Entrainment vs. Gastro Acid vs. Simple Beam? Entrainment is the only one that goes through Magic Bounce, right?

Worry Seed is also an option.

Entrainment is probably the best, though, although it doesn't go through Magic Bounce. It really depends on the Pokemon using them.

I know this is like a C- Pokemon but has anybody tried Poison Heal or Unaware Meloetta has a Gengar-M counter? No mgar is not going to run dark pulse so it seems pretty safe, and it really only has a problem taking multiple +2 secret swords. There are more things possible but posting on phone so kinda hard to elaborate, just breaking the ice a bit here.

Yeah, I was considering Meloetta the other day. The main issue is that 77 defense makes it incredibly difficult to deal with Secret Swords, particularly when not using an Unaware one.

+2 252 SpA Mega Gengar Secret Sword vs. 252 HP / 252 Def Meloetta: 211-249 (52.2 - 61.6%) -- 64.5% chance to 2HKO after Poison Heal
252 SpA Meloetta Psystrike vs. -1 252 HP / 252 Def Mega Gengar: 444-524 (137 - 161.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Since you don't need Unaware or Poison Heal for beating Shell Smash MGars, perhaps LR or Motor Drive would be better abilities for it, so that it could counter Electrify variants entirely, and punish the opposing team for using Electrify. It's super niche, but Meloetta is niche anyway.

Honestly, it's so rare that one runs into an Electrify Gengar on the ladder that I really don't think that's worth it. If I was running Meloetta, I'd still probably give it an ability like Poison Heal so it could function outside of being a Gengar counter.

Also, isn't Yveltal mostly better?

Yveltal loses to anti-Yvel sets like Moonblast. Which actually give coverage alongside beating a counter, while Dark Pulse for Melo is a god awful trick that offers 0 useful coverage in the process

Poison Heal on Mega Gengar counters is a must to prevent sleep.
Um no? You could just slap a Lum Berry on it and run something like Unaware to give it utility beyond just checking Gengar or even Prankster for your own sleep shenanigans. There's also Magic Bounce (although this doesn't stop Mold Breaker or Normalize variants).

Let's be real - whether or not it's the BEST choice, Poison Heal is never the ONLY choice. In this case, I honestly believe Poison Heal is not the best choice at all.

sorry ablast but this is bad advice. Lum Berry just makes gengar double sleep and poison heal is a key factor to regen health vs HO teams w/ gar. also not telling someone to run PH is telling them to not run the best overall ability in BH

Because Gengar can Spore you a second time from the grave, right

And honestly, I'd rather use Poison Heal on something that is actually a threat, rather than a tech for a specific threat. PH should definitely not just be thrown around on whatever you'd like since you can only run two of any ability per team - save it for something that can use it well.

Poison Heal is ridiculously overrated. Good, yes, but overrated.
