Uhm.. hi guys. I'm the Archmaster Mesa to anyone who didn't know. I'm not really a huge poster here on Smogon, but I've always wanted to write a warstory. This was quite possibly the best battle I've ever had so I figured now was probably the best time to do so. Anyways on to the story.
My Team.
The Great Sage's Team.
Mesa sent out Metagross.
Great Sage sent out Gengar.
Ok a Gengar. Fortunately I'm packing Bullet Punch which should do a good amounth of damage and I'm using Lum Berry specifically for countering Gengar leads so I don't have to worry about that.
Metagross used Bullet Punch.
Gengar lost 49% of its health.
Gengar used Substitute.
Gengar lost 25% of its health.
Gengar made a substitute!
Gengar's leftovers restored its health a little!
Gengar restored 6% of its health.
Ok. I was expecting more damage than that and now he has a sub up, but I still have my Lum Berry so I need not worry.
Metagross used Bullet Punch.
The substitute took damage for Gengar!
Gengar's substitute faded!
Gengar used Hypnosis.
Gengar's attack missed!
Gengar's leftovers restored its health a little!
Gengar restored 6% of its health.
Hypnosis missed. His Gengar is pretty much screwed now. He's either going to switch or sacrifice it. I don't have Pursuit so I'm just going to stick with Bullet Punch incase he leaves it in.
Great Sage switched in Garchomp.
Metagross used Bullet Punch.
Garchomp lost 28% of its health.
Ok. It's a Garchomp. I REALLY hate Garchomp and Metagross has already pretty much crippled his Gengar. I have full health and max HP so I'm pretty sure I can survive an Earthquake so I'm just gonna boom here to get that thing out of the way.
Garchomp used Earthquake.
It's super effective!
Metagross lost 107% of its health.
Mesa's Metagross fainted.
Garchomp lost 10% of its health.

Mesa: ouch
Mesa: wasn't expecting it to KO me in one hit
Great Sage: stab does a lot
Mesa: yeah
Mesa: but i've survived garchomp's EQ with meta before
Great Sage: and life orb
Mesa: a couple of times
Mesa: yeah
Mesa: none of the others had the orb
Seriously I wasn't expecting that to kill me in one hit. Now my Meta is gone and he's drawn first blood.
Mesa switched in Gliscor.
Great Sage switched in Mesprit.
Gliscor used Stealth Rock.
Pointed stones float in the air around your foe's team!
Mesprit? WTF? Ok. I have absolutely no idea what to expect here. I've never seen anyone using a Mesprit, hell I never even heard of anyone using Mesprit before. When in doubt switch to Umbreon.
Mesa switched in Umbreon.
Mesprit used Stealth Rock.
It used SR. No biggie. I only have one pokemon that really has SR problems. Now time to Toxic on the switch.
Great Sage switched in Garchomp.
Pointed stones dug into Garchomp.
Garchomp lost 6% of its health.
Umbreon used Toxic.
Garchomp was badly poisoned!
Garchomp is hurt by poison!
Garchomp lost 6% of its health.
Ok. Garchomp's back. I know it's not C.Scarf or Band, so it's probably going to try and set up on me. Umbreon's greatness lies in that he's so underrated.
Umbreon used Snatch.
Umbreon awaits the foe's move!
Garchomp used Earthquake.
Umbreon lost 55% of its health.
Garchomp lost 10% of its health.

Garchomp lost 12% of its health.
Ok I mispredicted and I paid for it. I should have expected that The Great Sage of all people would just try and kill Umbreon as quickly as possible. I can't take another Earthquake so I'm going to have to switch.
Mesa switched in Gliscor.

There goes my Lum Berry. I'm going to have to be careful if I'm gonna try to Outrage later. I don't know the rest of his team. If I Thunderpunch again and he switches to Electivire I'm completely screwed. I don't want to Outrage because I really don't enjoy getting locked into it without a DD or 2 under my belt. Waterfall is my best bet here.
Gengar used Hypnosis.
Gengar's attack missed!
Dragonite used Waterfall.
Gengar lost 59% of its health.
Great Sage's Gengar fainted.
4-4
OH GOD YES! Hypnosis missed. Thank you Arceus.

Mesa: how did i not notice that
Yeah. I totally didn't even realize that I was up against the Great Sage until after the battle was over.... >.>;;
It was really an epic battle. I totally thought I was going to lose there a couple of times. I have a ways to go as a trainer but I'm feeling pretty good about myself right now.
Props
Gengar, for taking down Mesprit and Rhyperior.
Umbreon, for proving to Sage that you don't suck and using Toxic on Garchomp, which is ultimately what did him in. He could have been a problem otherwise.
Medicham, the newest addition to my team has proven to be really useful. I'm still debating if Drain Punch is the way to go though.
Slops
I pretty much just let Garchomp kill my Metagross.
Mesprit was a huge pain. I need to be better prepared for some of the lesser used pokemon.
Gengar and it's sub also caught me off gaurd. If that Hypnosis hadn't missed he could have swept my team.
Why did I switch Gliscor in against Blissey?
I need to predict a bit better with Umbreon's Snatch, either that or come up with a new moveset.
Anyways, this was my first warstory ever. I hope I entertained you all and I would greatly appreciate any feedback you could give me.
