At level 100, a Weezing will only have a three point difference in HP between a 31 and 28 IV. The exact numbers, if you care, are (with no HP EVs): 268 (28 IV) and 271 (31 IV).

At level 50, there is only a 1 point difference between the two: 139 (28 IV) and 140 (31 IV).

I'm no expert, but I'd say that you have yourself a nice shiny right there. My verdict is: use it!

Type of the Month Giveaway

I'm part of a little group of smogon breeders called "The Type Of The Month Club" where we pick a pokemon type, breed some pokemon of said type and then giveaway and exchange the fruits of our labor.

This Month I am hosting the Water type. Below are the pokemon available for the giveaway with some simple rules to follow:

1. You must PM me a picture + a fun fact about a plant or animal that primarily lives in water. I am a biologist so I can appreciate entries regarding fungus, bacteria etc but I will also know if you just made shit up.
2. The max number of photos+facts is 3. Each photo is not considered a separate entry but the more interesting/odd things you choose the better you will be overall judged.

2. What is more likely to result in a perfect 5IV-mon, if I breed 2 5IV mons or a 6IV with a 5IV-mon?

1. The hatched Pokémon has the person hatching it as the OT, so you cannot rename it.

2. There is a better chance that 2 5x31 IVs will produce more offspring with the IVs you want. The 6x and 5x together would still breed 5x offspring, but not always with the IVs you want. Since the x IV or a 31 in a stat you don't want could be passed also.
