(Little) Things that annoy you in Pokémon

I do hate the camera angle changing during battles at times (I wish we could just push Select or something to return the camera to normal).
The stupid messages that pop up on PSS advertising features is dumb (I have 400+ hours! I've used the damn GTS!).
I also hate when multiple abilities pop up in doubles/triples/horde battles that do the same thing and don't stack (I don't care how many Psyducks have Cloud Nine!). Even more since each one pops up separately (so instead of "Psyduck and Psyduck's Cloud Nine!", I have to see two separate messages).

This is probably just me obsessing over the little things, but I'm really annoyed by the split second it takes for battles to begin if you've raised the affection of your Pokémon in Amie. It just bugs me. Same thing goes with Shiny Pokémon animations and I believe triple battles (or at least the inability to use 3d in the latter case). Since I'm unlikely to care about or even need any of the main benefits of affection such as evasion or enduring hits, the only good thing about this feature in battle is the ability to pet your Pokémon after it knocks out an opponent.

In retrospect to the time wasting point I just made, I'm pretty sure a handful of us trainers in the past had to endure either a double or triple battle where Hail or Sandstorm was in effect while status problems, leech seed, and confusion ran amok all at the same time. All the while it took a nearly a full half minute for each turn, which was excruciatingly painful to go up against. And the sad part was that the enemy team wasn't even built for stall and they didn't even resist their own weather conditions. Is this seriously how the AI plays stall? Or maybe I'm just crazy. Yep, that's probably it.

Also, although affection can be beneficial outside of the Maison and Battle Spot, I wish there was a way to manually disable it's effects or maybe a way to lower affection. I say this because there are some things about the affection system that I disagree with. There's "Oh yay! My Guts Ursaring was cured of it's Burn." and the ever so feared "Great job Ursaring! I totally wanted to critically strike that Shiny Goomy."

That's why I:
A) Never go above 2 on Pokémon I'm just training normally (just for the Exp Boost)
B) Only max out affection of things who will only ever battle in-game trainers (such as the Magikarp team I assembled for the failed attempt at beating the Elite Four with them. Stupid Wikstrom).

Yeah, I'm starting to do that now, but I can't help myself in Amie. I used to spend 20 minutes in between classes just cycling between feeding Pangoro until he's full and playing him ceaselessly; most likely against his will. By then, his affection gets maxed out. Most of those times I didn't save for the sake of getting to play some more, but I dunno. Sometimes I save after maxing out affection. It just feels natural to make some "progress" in games; it might be the completionist in me.

I'm still hoping for some way to lower Affection, at least it might happen in ORAS. I heard trading your Pokémon resets their affection, but it's restored once it's traded back. Also looked up stuff on the Power Saves; I got nothing. Still trying out ways to lower it though. I'm testing on my Pangoro to see if there's anyway to displease him. I tried giving him bitter medicine, making him faint, poking him in the belly in Amie, and leaving him alone with Ditto in the Day-Care for a few weeks at a time. So far there's no results, other than him hating me based on friendship. I'm now back to stuffing his face with Poké Puffs to apologize for the torture.

Nope, there isn't a way to lower affection in a particular save file.

What really bothers me is that while some Pokemon learn some moves by tutoring (e.g. Superpower on Swinub/Piloswine/Mamoswine, or Stealth Rock on Skarmory), they don't learn them even if they are Egg Moves. I think this could be a kind of partial solution to the lack of Move Tutors we have now (let's pray to all Arceus Formes to give us Move Tutors in ORAS).

Um...if a tutor move is also an egg move for that Pokemon, then it'll pass down if the female isn't currently loaded down with four other egg moves already provided they're bred with something in their egg group that knows the move.

Yes, but what I meant with my post is that it would be great if every egg move was available to every species of Pokemon that could learn that move by tutoring in previous generations. This way move tutors wouldn't be that necessary.

There's a little thing that makes me angry, and it's the fact that non KB Pokemon can be used in battle spot. Don't get me wrong, I understand the "It's to avoid hacks." thing, I just want to use my Knock Off Conkeldurr in Battle Spot ffs.

And I want to use Hyper Voice Sylveon everywhere. VGC, BSpot, those pointless Nintendo competitiond that roll around every month...

Alas, that won't happen until ORAS

I just remembered the thing I hate the most: the removal of a visible clock. One of the things I really liked about Gen V is that no matter where you are, there is a small clock on the top of the bottom screen so that you can see what time it is. Now there is no way to see the time in game. Yeah, I know that we can just hit the home button, but I don't want to have to do that, especially if I'm in the middle of trading, battling, or I am connected to the internet.

Press the save button. That will show you the current time. You can cancel the save if you then want to.

Adding to this, I also miss the little DS Battery Meter from Gen 5.

This is the reason why that Legendary Battle thing from 1-2 months ago was shit. You only had like 3 more Pokemon to use. If they let at least non-KB legendaries it would've been relevant.

Are you talking about that Battle of Legends competition? If so, then they did allow non-KB 'mons. One of the YouTubers I watch used a Multiscale Lugia and he faced a lot of Kyogre. Unless they were all hacked to have that pentagon, I'm pretty sure the competition allowed non-KB.

Please correct/let me know if I'm speaking of something entirely different...

Another thing that bugs me to oblivion is that not many NPCs had a Mega evolution in their party. It is something people are trying to understand and what not, but at least Ace trainers could have a Mega imo.

True, only the important characters who had an equal opportunity to benefit from the new mechanics (err... mega). I find that this somehow bears similarity with how some generations have starters in NPC's teams while others do not. This would have been interesting had the Maison included megas in NPC's teams, although it was unfair for the NPCs to get hold of pokebank earlier than most of us.

edit: had to remove the names to prevent spoilers for those who just played through the game and wanted to enjoy the story.

I know it doesn't matter much, but I prefer not revealing anything in any thread unless the topic is actually about the reveals (points to the OR/AS thread). I do feel it's better to be safe than sorry.

I have to agree with this- someone could still be SRing Yveltal (cough, me, cough).

Anyyyyway- I'm sure that I'm not the only one who hated the badlands and those pokemon stalking jumping out at you.

Even your trusty bicycle couldn't help you get away....

Actually while the desert area is a total pain in the ass there is a way to get around the wild pokemon. When you stop moving your character around so will the pokemon..for about 1-2 seconds, this will allow you to go around the direction the pokemon is traveling in etc. I hope this helped.
