Looks to mirrored to be true...Welp Rash isnt an option anymore we will have to use Naive fir the speed tiering.Diancie's stats finally got unlocked by the people at Project Pokemon :]
50/160/110/160/110/110, same typing, ability is Magic Bounce
These stats are pretty insane. You can see the rest of the ORAS dumps here.

Don't forget that hit can still run Hidden Power Rock/Fire / Ancientpower if it wants to go full special, but Diamond Storm + Naive still might be slightly better. Calm Mind and SR + 3 Attacks are looking solid on paper (though Calm Mind obviously will still need to make sure that Bullet Punch users, Aqua Jet users, and certain fast Pokemon like Greninja and Mega Sceptile are gone).Still in dire need of a move pool regardless, though it is a more offensive upgrade of tankish rock setter or CM variants. Here is hoping for some move tutor magic.
Edit: Ok useful move from move tutor is earth power! Now let us hope for Power Gem or something, otherwise I guess the rock stab will have to remain Diamond storm, but hey now you can begin to invest on a full Fairy STAB since Fairy + Ground have good coverage. Well Heal bell is another good move that seems confirmed on it. The important one now is the last move tutor and what he offers, since bulk of her moves come from there.
Edit 2: Oh it seems if the last move tutor is accurate she does not get power gem. Guess 3 attacks + SR with Naive could work. It'd still be able to take down the same x4 Rock weak mons it does a fine job checking with Diamond Storm, plus you get a boost.
Very vulnerable to physical attacks in general with only 50 HP and 110 Defense without Defense EV investment. Diancie's regular form is the only one with much defensive potential and even then, Relaxed, Quiet or Sassy will be generally better for that role than Brave. I'd go for Naive, Timid or Hasty. With the Diancie event coming up I have been thinking of what nature to go for. Naive seems to be the best for a all out offensive set, but that's not my natural play-style and I wondered if this set would be viable?
Diancie @ Mega stone
Brave
252 Atk / 252 Hp/4 Def
- Diamond Storm
- Calm Mind
- Rest
- Moonblast
Before you say anything yes this set is hard walled by steels, but most of her sets are so it will need something like heatran to keep them away. The plan with this set is to not Mega evolve straight away but to use calm mind a few times and then rest away the damage. On the turn you wake up you Mega evolve and start your slow sweep. The EVs are done so that it will be hitting very hard on both sides of the spectrum (while still being bulky) and Diamond storm will make you even bulkier.
If it can get a chance to set up then only steel types will be able to stop it. Magic bounce will make it impossible to taunt or force out (though roar etc). The only issue will be setting up and if its base form has the bulk to do so. I tried this set when Diancie was first allowed on PS and it was reasonably good at setting up. Its main problem was taunt and lack of raw power. Once it goes Mega these problems disappear. It also will also not be ultra slow, 230 speed out-speeds uninvested base 90, so it will be faster than most stall mons.
So what do you think? Viable or should I just get a Naive nature like most people will?
Any information on this possibly non-Diancie-specific glitch?
I restarted my Y game and immediately downloaded a Diancie. Now when I pick it up, I don't get three perfect IVs. It's a completely random set. I'm playing ahead further to investigate, but I was wondering if there was any information on this yet. (The first time I got a Diancie from my Y game I had four badges and I got the proper spreads.)

For Mega Diancie's CM set, I think Diamond Storm will be the preferred Rock-type move, mostly because of that big chance of boosting its Defense. It can even use a Timid nature, because of that 160 Attack stat. Gengar, Talonflame and Mega Charizard Y are the only ones that resist Fairy and Ground off the top of my head, and they are beaten by Diamond Storm(after rocks for Gengar).
There are also a few Pokemon, such as Mega Scizor, Balloon Excadrill and Balloon Heatran, that can take a hit or two from Mega Diancie(well, to be fair, Exca takes 53.1 - 62.8% from a +1 Moonblast, but you shouldn't stay in on it anyway, so yeah) and threaten to hit back with a Steel-type move. HP Fire could be used hit the former two, but it would need to hit Mega Scizor on the switch.
edit: oh, and Mega Venusaur can wall it too. Maybe use Psychic?
Yeah, I know, that last part was kind of a joke lolI wouldn't use Psychic since it doesn't offer as good a coverage as compared to Earth Power + Moonblast, and you hit more relevant threats like Heatran/Excadrill/Bisharp that tend to switch in. Aside that I honestly don't find Diancie's CM set to be all that good considering that she takes too much damage in the process of setting up and is easily forced out by the slew of priority or just scarf users in general, due to the myriad of weaknesses that her typing gives. Add that with the lack of investment in defense and HP, since you'll want to run max positive speed on MDiancie and the rest of your EVs are split between Atk and SpA, with no recovery outside of rest (unless you want to run Draining Kiss LOL) she isn't the most optimal CM user.
I really am just a bigger fan of protect for her last move slot since it eases the transition from defensive to offensive more seamless, and a lot of utility as well making scarf users a liability against it. From there it gives you the advantage of outspeeding and checking mons that normally would outspeed and given your transition to mega form trouble, e.g. Keldeo/Bisharp.
Yeah, I know, that last part was kind of a joke lol
Protect Diancie is interesting, using the move to mega evolve safely and getting a speed boost, like Medicham does with Fake Out. Would its set be something like Moonblast/Diamond Storm/Earth Power/Protect then?
Id say Naive if you go for Calm mind or protect, or Rash/Modest if you go for HPfire and rock polish. Since losing the 110 speed tie for HPfire is rather redundant.First of all I wanted to confirm something: I just got my Diancie today, and it does the usual "guarenteed 3 IV's per legendary" thing. I am SRing right now to get a good Diancie... Until I realized I have no idea what one looks like.
What are Diancie's preferred natures? It says Naive on the stratdex but I figured I'd better go here first to get opinions. Mega Diancie seems good with Diamond Storm/ Moonblast/ Earth Power/ SR or HPfire or Protect, and I am leaning towards a set like this, but above all I need opinions.
Normally I would just go to showdown and test things until it works, but I am too busy with work so I can't do it like usual :(((( so please, help?
Tons of Latis carry HP Fire/Fighting for Ferrothorn/Bisharp and you check them anyway (unless they happen to have Surf; then you're fucked) while Gengar's LO Shadow Ball can't OHKO Naive after Rocks, but neither can Diamond Storm so it's too much of a crapshoot for him anyway. Earthpower can't OHKO Naive Mega Metagross without a CM boost while Meteor Mash will always OHKO even if you have 2 Diamond Storm boosts, so you shouldn't be fighting it anyway. You can beat Mega Gallade easy but I'm not sure a speed tie with him is worth as it can't OHKO you and you could just have a Talonflame deal with him.The problem I've noticed with HP Fire on Mega Diancie is that since you're only allowed 30 IVs in Speed, you lose that potential speed tie with other Base 110s such as Gengar, the Latis, Mega Gallade, Megagrosses not carrying Bullet Punch and are weakened enough for Earth Power to kill (even though you shouldn't ever stay in, regardless), ect.
I'm agreeing with the Naive nature. You definitely want to use both attacking stats, and base 110 speed is too good not to maximize. Sure, it's suddenly a crowded speed tier, but being able to outspeed Keldeo, Terrakion, Landorus, Infernape, Garchomp, and positive nature base 100's is too good to pass up.First of all I wanted to confirm something: I just got my Diancie today, and it does the usual "guarenteed 3 IV's per legendary" thing. Sorry if I come across a bit new to the competitive scene; I don't exactly have a lot of experience despite knowing at least a decent chunk about competitive battling, so I might be missing something.... This being said, I had a question.. What would the benefit be to using a Naive nature over Hasty? The reason I ask is because I just got a pretty decent Hasty Diancie through SRing, but I'd like to know if it's worth it to keep SRing for a Naive nature instead or if I should just keep this Hasty one.
Hasty lowers your Defense and most priority attacks are physical so you want to minimize the damage you take from neutral ones.Sorry if I come across a bit new to the competitive scene; I don't exactly have a lot of experience despite knowing at least a decent chunk about competitive battling, so I might be missing something.... Wow, you definitely lucked out! And.. haha, yeah, that cutscene is pretty annoying the 30th time or so. I don't even know why they give you the option to give away your Diancie at all; both options end up with the same response from their "Master". The Bioshock fan in me caused me to choose "All right..." the first time due to the wording of the question...I say keep it if you like the spread it has. I got a Hasty one, too (it had 4 max IVs, HP Ground and a 28 in Sp.Def). Screw going through that cutscene.
Ah, I see; that makes sense. I might just keep SRing, then. Although my IVs ended up being decent, they weren't THAT fantastic. I appreciate the help, thank you!Hasty lowers your Defense and most priority attacks are physical so you want to minimize the damage you take from neutral ones.
