This is my first ever analysis, so don't be too harsh
Overview
########
+Good defensive stats 86/97/107 respectivly
+good abilities especially the Storm drain ability - has an workable special attacking stat
-poor offensive presence (such as being shut down by Taunt, doesn't have alot of good attacking options)
-Mediocre defensive typing (Grass/rock)
-Shallow movepool, Especially for support, Recover is it's main appeal
Specially Defensive
########
name: Specially Defensive
move 1: Stealth Rock
move 2: Recover
move 3: Giga Drain
move 4: Toxic / Rock Slide
ability: Storm Drain
item: Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
nature: Calm / Sassy
Moves
========
Stealth rock - Hazard setting, good hazard setter due to bulk, prone to taunt however
Recover - For recovery outside of leftovers
Giga drain - good STAB move for some recovery, works with storm drain
Toxic - For status infliction, useful if cradilly's STAB moves aren't very effective.
Rock slide - Physical STAB move, good for checking flying types such as Xatu, Cryogonal, and the Fire-types it wouldn't be able to check without Rock Slide. (mainly magmortar, Thyplosion) which it otherwise wouldn't be able to hit.
Set Details
========
252 HP 252 Sp def with a +sp def nature allow cradily to tank almost every special attacking in the tier, including a fire blast/eruption from Scarf Typhlosion and Special water types such as ludicolo allowing it to tank UnSTABed Ice beams
Leftovers are for passive recovery outside of recover.
Rock slide over toxic is preffered as a secondary STAB move
Usage Tips
========
•Grass STAB move allows it to threaten other common Stealth rock leading pokemon such as Seismitoad and rhydon
•Recover used as appropiately to keep cradily on modestly high HP so It can maximise it's usage throughout the battle
•if they have a flying/fire type, Don't reveal rock slide too early as it is more of a surprise attack which can catch people offguard
•If using toxic, use a calm nature with 0 Attack IVs for minimum foul play damage.
•Using sandstorm in conjunction with cradilly is a good idea as it possess the storm drain ability allowing it to sponge any water move and increasing it's high Sp def stat
Team Options
========
•Ground types, such as sandslash, to check/counter Steel types such threat cradily the most.
•a Heal bell user with good physical bulk such as Audino/Granbull, since Cradily is unable to get rid of any status outside of the unreliable rest or a lum berry
•Great on sandstorm teams, due to it's immunity to water and boosted SP def in sand
Other Options
########
•Mental herb over leftovers, Since it's low speed makes it prone to taunt and therefore will allow you to set up Stealth rock in situations where it wouldn't
•Earthquake for steel types
•Swords Dance is interesting due to dual stab moves cradilly possess, however it isn't a popular idea as torterra outclasses it as an physical attacker as cradily lacks good offensive stats, torterra also provides a similar Coverage.
•A weakness policy offensive set can be used for surprise factor, but relies on too much to set up, but can be successful if it sets up successfully
Checks & Counters
########
**Fighting types** with high attack and access to close combat such as Hariyama
**guts/Toxic boost users** This is a big threat to cradilly as it boosts their attack by 1.5x therefore hitting harder on cradilly, common abusers of this are gurrdurr and Zangoose
**Poison-types** like Vileplume, Dragalge, and Weezing, can easily stall out Cradily, or inflict it with status such as poison or burn to make the process easier. Garbodor sets up hazards easily on Cradily.
**Steel-types** such as Ferroseed and Probopass use Cradily as easy hazard fodder, whereas Klinklang and Pawniard threaten Cradily with powerful Steel STAB.
**taunt users** Cradily possess a very low speed stat which makes it vulernable to a huge chunk of taunt users, in most cases, rendering it useless.
**Substitute users** such as Uxie, Klinklang, and Bouffalant can set up with immunity before Cradily.
