ORAS OU Bulky offence

I made this Bulky offensive team around Mega Gallade. I used this team before Greninja ban. single format

mega_gallade_art.png

Gallade @ Galladenite

Ability: Inner Focus

Nature: Jolly

EVs: 124 HP / 132 Atk / 252+ Spe

- Shadow Sneak

- Close combat

- Knock Off

- Leaf Blade

  • Gallade works as a powerful trump card and enters the battle after counters are fainted and rest of the pokemon are not (hopefully) at full health and starts to sweep.

  • Most of the time Gallade can only 2HKO targets so max 252 Atk isn’t that helpful. With 132 Atk it can still 2hko targets but now has more bulk.

  • Inner Focus prevents flinching. Good trait against Fake out.

  • Shadow sneak, priority is always useful. Close Combat over Drain Punch because without bulk up and 252 atk Drain Punch has not enough power. Knock Off for coverage + item los. Super effective Leaf Blade has the same base power as a STAB Close Combat and as a neutral it has still 90 BP, plus element of surprise and a higher critical hit ratio.
250px-036Clefable.png

Clefable @ Life orb

Ability: Magic Guard

Nature: modest

EVs: 252 HP / 156 Def / 100+ SpA

-Stealth Rock

- Moonblast

- flamethrower

- Thunder Wave

  • Clefable has excellent bulk and useful fairy type against dark, fighting and dragon. It works mainly as stealth rock pokemon and a fast sweeper cripler. Plus it Counters Mega Sableye

  • Ev spread allows Clefable to take hits and with life orb give them.

  • Magic guard prevents entry hazards, status, weather and life orb damage

  • It can learn Stealth rock which is one of the best ways to deal with the Talonflame and the other birds. Moonblast is a powerful STAB. Flamethrower works against Ferrothorn and is more guaranteed to hit than Fire Blast. With Thunder Wave Clefable can cripple faster pokemon and allow teammates to destroy them. Very useful for Gallade and Greninja.
479-wash.png

Rotom-W @ Rindo Berry

Ability: Levitate

Nature: Modest

EVs: 248 HP / 252+ SpA/ 4 Def

- Volt Switch

- Hydro Pump

- Will-O-Wisp

- Thunder Wave

  • I needed something to counter Talonflame. Rotom resist both of it’s stabs and has two STAB moves to hit it with super effective damage. overall a great annoying pokemon

  • EV spread let’s rotom take damage and send a massive counter attack. Rindo berry stops Rotom’s only weakness: grass.

  • Levitate gives an immunity against ground type. + entry hazards.

  • Hydro pump for STAB, Volt Switch for switching out and STAB. Rotom-W will force a lot of switch out because of Will-O-Wisp. But they won’t wait for thunder wave and with right prediction I can do a lot of status cripling. For example a Latias can take burn but cannot take Paralysis and after that scizor can come in and destroy it.

250px-212Scizor.png

Scizor @ Assault Vest

Ability: Technician

Nature: Adamant

EVs: 196 HP / 60+ Atk / 252 SpD

- Bullet punch

- Bug bite

- Knock off

- Superpower

  • I needed a steel type to counter fairies. bisharp takes neutral hit from moonblast and scizor takes resisted So I chose scizor. Thanks to it’s typing and Assault Vest and natural bulk, it’s easy to switch in the battle.

  • Most of the time opponents tries take scizor down with special attacks. Ev spread+Assault Vest let Scizor take many neutral hits without problem and a non-STAB flamethrower.

  • Technician boosts Bullet Punch and Bug Bite base powers with STAB into 90 and 135 BP.

  • Bullet Punch is a great STAB priority. Bug Bite is Scizors strongest move. I chose it over U-Turn because scizor isn’t fast enough to use U-turn. Knock off is great move and even if scizor would get burn it can still remove the held items from the opponents pokemon. Superpower for coverage.

latios.jpg

Latios @ Choice Scarf

Ability: Levitate

Nature: Modest

EVs:4 HP/ 252+ SpA / 252 Spe

- Draco Meteor

- Psyshock

- Trick

- Defog

  • I needed a fast revenge killer, rapid spinner and a faster pokemon than Greninja. I used originally mold breaker Excadrill but then I had 4 pokemon weak against burn So I switched into faster pokemon Latios.

  • Basic sweeper EV spread. With Choice Scarf Latios becomes one of the fastest pokemon there is.

  • Leviate ground immunity+ entry hazards

  • Basic strategy. Latios switch in, OHKOS pokemon with Draco Meteor and switches out. Or uses psyshock against special walls. Trick can be fun way to criple your opponet to use only one move and free latios from one attack curse. Defog removes entry hazards but also from opponents side.

shiny_greninja___smash_bros_by_biobark-d7dp9bi.png

Greninja @ Lum berry

Ability: Protean

Nature: Naive

EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

- Shadow Sneak

- Ice beam

- Gunk Shot

- Grass Knot

  • Infamous Greninja. My greatest creation.

  • Greninja is one of my favorite pokemon and I just needed to have it in my team.

  • I needed Breloom checkr, Smeargle check, Mega Slowro counter and Fairy counter. Explanation below.

  • Lum berry. One of the easiest way to defeat greninja is by giving it a status. Lum berry prevents this and allows greninja to revenge.

  • Because Greninja doesn’t have a life orb to give it power it needs full 252 SpA to cause damage with its ice beam. STAB Gunk shot can still OHKO a Mega Gardevoir and 98 HP Azumarill with only 4 atk EV.

  • Protean gives Greninja excellent offensive and defensive qualifies. Even though Greninja is as frail as possible it can withstand “not very effective” hits. When greninja is poison type pokemon, a modest Mega Gardevoir Hyper Voice will do only 68% damage at max. And a Azumarill Play Rough only 51%.

  • Shadow Sneak for priority, Ice Beam as primal STAB. Gunk Shot to OHKO fairies and Grass knot to make Mega Slowbro cry

  • Curiously this Grenija doesn’t have Dark or Water type attacks. This gives grenija a great element of surprise.

  • Ice Beam+Shadow Sneak: If Greninja has OHKOed pokemon with ice beam it’s still a ice type pokemon when opponent switches in, for example a Conkeldurr. Opponent tries OHKO greninja with mach punch but greninja uses shadow sneak and Mach punch misses. And now greninja is free to hit conkeldurr or other mach punch pokemon with all it has.

  • Breloom counter. Most of the Brelooms have spore, mach punch and/or bullet seed and focus sash. Shadow sneak destroys Brelooms Focus sash and prevents mach punch. Lum berry prevents spore and without mach punch greninja can OHKO with Ice Beam.

  • Smeargle Counter. Smeargle tries spore and lum berry prevents it and Greninja two OHKOes it with Ice Beam.

What could I have done beter? Should I switch a Scizor with a Bisharp and what I do now with the sixth slot?

1st thing is greninja is banned from Ou.
Try the standard set for mega gallade

Gallade @ mega evolving stone.
4 HP/ 252 Atk / 252 Spe

- swords dance
- zen headbutt
- close combat(close combat can hit rotom-w as hard as leaf blade).
- knock off

For clefable
Clefable @ leftovers/life orb
252 HP / 252 def / 4 SpA
- stealth rock
- moon blast
- flamethrower
- calm mind

Scizor isn't the best av pokemon I can't say anything else for scizor. But u can put it if u want but it can't take much hits from special attacking pokemons.

Give defensive set to rotom-w
It can stop mega pinsir and talonflame to ruin your team.

Rotom-w @ leftovers
252 HP / 252 Def /4 SpA
- Thunderbolt/volt-switch
- hydro pump
- will-o-wisp
- pain spilt

Scarfed latios makes your job harder to defog so u can give it roost and life orb instead.
U can put keldeo for greninja as smeargle isn't used that much these days.
Keldeo @Choice scarf/choice specs
- scald
- hydro pump
- secret sword
- icy wind/HP flying/HP electric/HP ice.

For mega bro u can put manaphy for greninja
Manaphy @ leftovers / wacum berry
- surf
- energy ball
- tail glow
- ice beam/rest

For last slot u can put tyranitar as it can pursuit trap lati twins and gengar which are a threat to your team.

Tyranitar @ choice scarf / Choice band
252 Atk / 252 spe / 4 def

- pursuit
- superpower / fire blast
- stone edge
- crunch / Earthquake

Maybe I forget the choice band evs.

Ay m8, Greninja got banned from OU. And it sure as hell doesn't use a Lum Berry.
No point in running Bulk in Mega Gallade, he's a Sweeper and that's it. Leaf blade... Isn't bad, but it could be replace by Ice Punch for much better coverage, since Leaf Blade only hits Rotom-Wash, Starmie, and Keldeo effectively. I know Scarf Latios can be useful, but Defog isn't used on it. For this set, run Life Orb. This makes you hard hitting and you can Defog when ya feel like it. So replace Trick with Roost / HP Fire or Fighting / Earthquake, for better coverage or recovery.
Rotom-Wash with Rindo Berry...? And Bulky Sweeper...? No.

Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers/Chesto Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 216 Def / 44 Spe
IVs: 0 Atk
Bold Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Pain Split with Leftovers / Rest with Chesto Berry
- Will-O-Wisp

Av Scizor is bad, run an EV Spread of 248 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def Adamant and either a Choice Band or Life Orb.
Run this set of Clefable.

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 168 Def / 88 Sp Def
IVs: 0 Atk
Bold Nature
- Moonblast
- Stealth Rock
- Calm Mind
- Soft Boiled

You also may be asking why I put 0 Atk IVs. 0 Atk IVs on your Specially Based Pokemon guarantees less damage from Confusion and Foul Play.

Hope it helps. :>

Thanks.

"Scizor isn't the best av pokemon I can't say anything else for scizor. But u can put it if u want but it can't take much hits from special attacking pokemons."

Scizor can take four shadow balls from Aegislash. That sounds pretty good to me. and a 252+ heat wave from Zapdos. Of course I won't put scizor against Zapdos but As I said it can take neutral special attacks pretty well and survive non-stab fire attacks.

Both to you Charilax Blaster and Sparkl3y, Why no Soft-Boiled on that clefable if he is calm mind O_O? It's a must.

Thanks.

1 Aegislash was banned.
2. No one runs 252+ Zapdos w/ Heat Wave, and Zapdos is rare in gemeral.

greninja 4ever :3

Ice punch good call.
I try that defensive rotom.

I know, I know but I used them to prove the point that scizor can block speacial attacks. Or can you give examples of non stab and non fire type special attacks scizor caanot wall?

Specs Keldeo's Hydro Pump.

Sorry had a typo

Heres the real one

252 SpA Choice Specs Keldeo Hydro Pump vs. 196 HP / 252 SpD Assault Vest Scizor: 163-193 (49.3 - 58.4%) -- 98.8% chance to 2HKO

Still two ohko.

But maeby you are right.

First, i really think that AV Scizor is not viable, so replace it with a choice band scizor. I think you can use scarf Landorus-Therian to replace greninja's place, with Rotom-w he creates volturn combo that can attract momentum and let you control the battle with your switches. Obviously please change completely Rotom-w's set which is totally not viable, i'll put the right set down here together with the best sets. i'll see if add other things tonight, i wrote this in less than 5 minutes.

Edit: Added Band scizor set
Landorus-Therian (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Stone Edge
- Superpower

Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 36 Def / 220 Spe
Bold Nature
Ivs: 0 atk
- Will-O-Wisp
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Pain Split

the 220 evs in speed allows you to outspeed jolly bisharp which is a threat to your team

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 224 Def / 24 SpD / 8 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Stealth Rock
- Thunder Wave
- Soft-Boiled
- Moonblast

Gallade-Mega (M) @ Galladite
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 128 HP / 128 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Swords Dance
- Knock Off
- Zen Headbutt

Scizor @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Pursuit
- Superpower

I've never seen scizor used as a special wall. The banded set is much more useful. However now that greninja is banned why not use specs/scarf Keldeo instead as you would need a powerful sweeper. As Sparkl3y said that latios set should be LO not scarf if your using defog and if you do change it then imo the replacement for Trick should be HP Fighting as it deals with pursuit trappers and heatran. Also change your Rotom-W set. It simply isn't built to be a sweeper. Clefable should have a recovery move and it has one of the best in softboiled so it is a must on any magic guard clefable. I would suggest replacing shadow sneak with either SD or substitute and leaf blade with ice punch. The sub set would allow you to avoid burns and ease predictions.

Keldeo @ Choice Specs
Ability : Justified
EVs : 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 Def
IVs : 0 Atk
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Secret Sword
- Icy Wind / Scald
- HP Flying / Electric
( the scarf set is the same doesn't change at all)

Or you could also try the now famous sub-cm set

Keldeo @ Leftovers
Ability : Justified
EVs : 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 Def
IVs : 0 Atk
Timid Nature
- Substitute
- Calm Mind
- Scald / Surf
- Secret Sword
( Scald has been slashed so that if you prefer damage over the burn chance then surf is a good choice)

Hope I helped :)

Hi, I hope this helps

MGallade_ORAS.gif

Gallade (M) @ Galladite
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off / Taunt
- Close Combat
- Swords Dance / Taunt
- Zen Headbutt / Substitute

You should run 252 Atk EVs on M-Gallade, I don't see the point in running so much HP unless you calced and plan to survive something , even if that's the case it isn't worth it.
Shadow sneak is not the best move in my opinion, but if you think you need priority go for it.

clefable_sprite__generation_vi_by_the_national_pokedex-d7mflvk.gif

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 164 Def / 96 SpD
Calm Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Soft-Boiled
- Fire Blast/Flamethrower

- Moonblast

Pretty standard.
scizor-3.gif

Scizor @ Leftovers
Ability: Technician
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 196 HP / 60+ Atk / 252 SpD
- Bullet punch
- Bug bite U-Turn
- Knock off / Swords Dance / Defog
- Superpower Roost

Or

Scizor @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 32 HP / 252 Atk / 224 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Pursuit
- U-turn
- Superpower

A pokemon doesn't need to be fast to use U-Turn, the Slow U-Turn is great to get momentum and switch into your pokemon safely.
Roost + Leftovers is way better than AV for longevity if you are using a Sp.Def set.
The Choice band set would probably work better for this team.

rotom-wash.gif

Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 216 Def / 44 Spe
Bold Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Pain Split
- Thunder Wave / Will-O-Wisp

This is your bird check, with Bold and Defense EVs you can take on Talonflame and Pinsir without any problem. SD talonflame can sweep your team if Rotom is not defensive.

latios.gif

Latios (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psyshock
- Draco Meteor
- Defog / Earthquake
- Trick

Latios should always run Timid even with a Choice Scarf. Run 4 SpD instead of HP.

Greninja is banned and I think you need a Bisharp check. At+2 It can sweep your team if rotom is weakend.
Keldeo and Infernape are good checks.

392.gif

Infernape @ Life Orb / Expert Belt
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Mach Punch
- Close Combat
- Overheat
- Grass Knot / U-Turn

Grass knot 2HKO's M-Slowbro.

I'm going with ape but Keldeo is another great Pokemon

I might consider Keldeo instead of Lando-T in the place of greninja to avoid further bisharp, which without Rotom-W alive entirely demolishes your team. I see the substitute calm mind great just because the Lati@s (threats for Keldeo) can be pursuit trapped by CB scizor, giving you opportunity to setup and to make Keldeo your win condition, but also the scarf set is very good.

Should I use the following?

Gallade/Bisharp/latios/Rotom-W/Clefable/Landorus-T?

I puted them into marilland and it looks very covered.

at this point try Mega Gallade, Clefable, Latios, Rotom-W, Bisharp (Pursuit), Keldeo
or Mega Metagross (with Pursuit), Clefable, Latios, Rotom-w, Keldeo, Landorus-therian
or Mega Gallade, Clefable, Scizor, Latios, Rotom-w, Keldeo
