Hello, everyone. I've been running trials with this Uber team and have reached a point of a standstill. I am without a stealth-rocks or spikes set-up and don't know who to incorporate into the team, nor who should be edited or removed. I am hoping to gain advice from the competitive trainers on the Smogon Forums.
First of all u mighty wanna give Darkrai substitute instead of sludge bomb so u don't get KO'd when the other person's poke wakes up
Here is the primary Pokemon in the team:
(Italicized means it was edited/fixed)
Darkrai @ Life Orb
Ability: Bad Dreams
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Dark Pulse
- Dark Void
- Nasty Plot
- Sludge Bomb
Darkrai is the main component of the team. His existence is a must due to the fact that the team was made from him as the main (Darkrai is also my favorite Pokemon, which adds to it). Darkrai is a fearful opponent because not many Pokemon out-speed him, and those that do (such as Deoxys-S) lack in power (with the exception of scarfers). His combination of Dark Void and Nasty Plot/Dark Pulse make a deadly game of strategies with the opponent. How I use him depends on how the opponent reacts.
Yveltal @ Dread Plate
Ability: Dark Aura
EVs: 24 HP / 48 Atk / 252 SpA / 184 Spe
Naive Nature
- Dark Pulse
- Oblivion Wing
- Sucker Punch
- U-Turn
I've returned to an old set and edited it a little. Yveltal is an uncommon pokemon in Ubers (contrary to Xerneas, who is in almost every team). He comes with Dark pulse, boosted by both Life Orb and Dark Aura, giving Dark Pulse a dangerous STAB output even when hitting neutrally. Life Orb drains health the more the user attacks, and that is where Oblivion Wing comes in; by healing back lost health, Yveltal's longevity increases dramatically. Dark Pulse followed by a Sucker Punch usually 2KOs most pokemon, even if they are faster. U-Turn is for Fairy types and allows a quick switch-in with Mega Gengar, rendering them nearly helpless to his whim.
Deoxys-Speed @ Focus Sash
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Taunt
- Spikes
- Knock Off
Deoxys-Speed is one of, if not the fastest, Pokemon around. This alone make him an excellent lead, which is appreciated with access to both Stealth Rock and Spikes, as well as Taunt. His naturally speediness will most likely allow him to get off an easy Taunt against suspected hazard-setters (with the exception of a Magic Coat user, but they aren't too common). Knock Off, also paired with his blinding speed, allows him to easily cripple an opponent, such as a choice user.
Gengar (M) @ Gengarite
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 200 Def / 56 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Perish Song
- Substitute
- Protect
- Taunt
Been on the team awhile, made a recent adjustment to his moveset. He was originally going to have Taunt, Sludge Wave, Perish Song, and Protect, but it came to my attention that Sludge Wave is an event move whereas Perish Song is a breeding move. I originally had taunt on the moveset but I originally thought that it was banned with Perish Song, which confused me as I saw someone else do the same thing. I have re-incorporated this move, and it should definitely fix the issue.
Groudon @ Red Orb
Ability: Drought
EVs: 104 HP / 252 Atk / 96 SpD / 56 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Rock Polish
- Precipice Blades
- Fire Punch
- Dragon Claw
Primal Groudon belongs on nearly every team; his ability not only strengthens his already powerful STAB Fire type attacks, but nullifies dangerous Water type attacks coming his way. Primal Reversion is almost a must-have due to this ability as well as making his already high stats even higher, with the exception of SpDef and Speed. Great for switch-ins with Primal Kyogre. Dragon Tail hits Dragon types super-effectively and also causes a switch for the opponent. A good prediction of Kyogre switching in causes this move to be very beneficial, and is great for acting as a stall.
Kyurem-White @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Turboblaze
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Ice Beam
- Draco Meteor
- Fusion Flare
- Sleep Talk
Finally, we have Kyurem-W. Kyurem-W is a very powerful pokemon, with an amazing 170 base SpA. I replaced Kyurem-B with Kyurem-W because Kyurem-B isn't viable in Ubers due to having a 170 base Atk and not having the movepool to be able to support it. Kyurem-W retains his ability to sleep-talk its way around annoying darkrais, as well as revenge kill with Choice Scarf and Draco Meteor.
I appreciate any advice given and thank you all for taking the time to read and rate this team.
