I know I asked this earlier, but I forgot. How do you calculate the %chance of something OHKO'ing or not? Let's give an example of an attack that will do 95-107% damage. Would you adjust the random number until it either OHKO's or doesn't (depending on which way you go)?

If the above statement is correct, then it means this would be correct as well: If the random number required to OHKO is 90 or higher, then there is a 62.5% chance of OHKO'ing.

Sorry for the confusing wording, but I'm not exactly sure how to phrase it.

Sorry, but I don't know what you mean.

There are 16 random numbers that could be selected, 85-100 inclusive. The higher the number, the more damage is dealt. So, that is a 5/16 chance of OHKOing.

Sorry for the confusing wording, but I'm not exactly sure how to phrase it.

With a dammage percentage of 95-107%, there will be a 7 out of 12 chance that it will be a OHKO, 7/12 = 0,58 = A 58% chance of a OHKO

weavile

Not sure where to ask this, so I'll try this thread.

I've read the analysis thread on Weavile, and I've decided to go with the swords dance set. The problem is most of the people I play with view Azelf as uber and hence do not play it. Therefore do I go with the 252/252/6? or do I stick to the 40/252/216 HP/Attack/Speed EVs like in that thread?

My weavile has 31 speed IVs, if it makes a difference.

By the way, this is my first post in the community. Heh.

Weavile's a really fragile thing. Even with 40 HP EVs, it dies anyway. I'd suggest you go Jolly and max speed with max attack. The Swords Dance set works great that way! ^_^

Just wondering, if I play Shiny Gold (a hack of Fire Red), and catch Ho-oh/Lugia/Celebi etc. on it normally, would anyone consider them legit?

Um...this is not Pokemon-related, but I'll ask here anyway:

It says the code isn't allowed in the signature here, but I've seen a few people with images in their signature here. How do they do it?[/I][/quote]

Only people with badges are allowed image signatures :pirate:.

Is the effect of the move trick for the battle or only for the turn?
like lets say my alakazam uses trick on a charizard and its holding choice specs. It is switched with my opponents salac berry. Does the effect stay for the entire battle like the move knock-off or does it disappear if the pokemon are switched?

A few questions about Hitmonlee.

Serebii says that his ability Reckless increases the power of Return and Reversal.

Marriland says that Reckless increases the power of his recoil moves.

However, Hitmonlee has no recoil moves. Unless Close Combat's stat drops are considered recoil?

Does anyone know anything about this?

...he learns hi jump kick and jump kick

on smogon it says

[ABILITY]
Reckless
[SHORT DESC]
Increases the power of recoil moves by 20%.
[LONG DESC]
Whenever this Pokemon uses a move with recoil, such as Double-Edge or Hi Jump Kick, the base power is increased by 20%. Does not apply to Life Orb.
