Silly Things You've Seen In Other Metagames

  • Leftovers Charizard who got some burn hax with Flare Blitz. It also used Crunch.
  • Leftovers Lucario.
  • Special Inner Focus* Dragonite who Roosted instead of finishing off Mega Blastoise with Thunderbolt just after its Light Screen expired. Its trainer then went AFK, giving his opponent the victory.
Right side: Surprising dual screens Light Clay Metagross which allowed Mega Blastoise to stomach strong hits and wreck its opponents.
*Mega Blastoise was defensive, as Lucario barely survived its Scald after using Close Combat.

Left side:
  • Torterra.
  • Mega Alakazam using Shadow Ball against a Darkrai when there aren't any apparent Ghost weaknesses in the enemy side.
  • Non-Mega Altaria.
  • Blizzard Kyurem-B without hail support.
  • Walrein with Blizzard (again?), Ice Beam and Dive.
Right side:
  • Drain Punch Darkrai. Worse, it used this move several times on resists (especially on Alakazam, when a Dark Pulse would have beaten it).
  • Close Combat + Focus Blast Lucario, the latter being used on Altaria (honestly, lots of typechart issues here).
  • Moonblast + Dazzling Gleam + Hidden Power Ice Xerneas.

Left side:
  • Level 1 Sturdy(Nose)pass.
  • Another non-Mega Charizard who got lucky with burns (see first replay) on Rotom-W, but not on Dragonite.
  • Electivire.
  • Forfeits when his (presumably non-Mega) Blastoise froze his opponent's Weakness Policy Dragonite. Either he got IRL issues or, despite that freezehax, he feared the possibility of a Dragonite sweep.
Right side:
  • Tangela, certainly his anti-FEAR weapon.
 
On the 1v1 ladder.

I sent out mega charizard y. he sends out azumarill. I used Solarbeam on him. Little did I know I was about to get wrecked by the newest of metas


Charizard Mega evolved into Mega Charizard Y! Charizard used Solarbeam! Azumarill's Sap Sipper raised it's Attack!
Azumarill used Hidden Power! It's super effective! Charizard lost 100% of it's health! Charizard fainted!

Later on, he told me it was specs hp rock. This is just so next level, I don't even know if it should go in this thread or not....
 
Even if it wasn't specs HP Rock, it's still a bad idea to use Grass moves on Azumarill. One of its main niches in 1v1 is being a decently bulky Perish Song user with superb defensive typing and an ability that bolsters said defensive typing even further. Granted, it could have been Huge Power, but it lives Solar Beam anyway in that scenario.

5 mon team based around BP chain to Bidoof. Also featuring Blood Totem (Sigilyph), several type chart issues (although some were probably intentional to aviod Destiny Bond), and Bidoof guy winning only because of Drifblim's Aftermath activating, killing Infernape.
 
I think I saw a Darkrai (in AG) with event Spacial Rend before... I forgot the rest of it's moves, but apparently it used Spacial Rend on a Steel-type where Dark Pulse would have been neutral.

I wasn't too linked in gen 6 yet since I don't have a 3ds so i forgot dark was regularly effective and was hoping for a freeze.

The replay was from November.

Durant has some quite useful advantages to it over Scizor, notably it's higher base Speed and Hustle. Scizor is not the only Bug/Steel Pokemon around...
