Themed Teams

I had a Metroid themed team:

Beedrill (Hornet)
Blaziken (Chozo)
Tentacruel (Metroid)
Rhyperior (Kraid)
Charizard (Ridley)
Alakazam (Mother Brain)

Wasn't that great, but it was fun.

all of my teams are themed, but just not so obviously.

my favorite ones have to be BFG (Big Friendly Giants), Team Funny Hat and Team Ogle.

when you make a theme team must you devise a entire team around it or can you have 2 themes to it? kinda like double color decks in magic the gathering.

I was once considering making theme teams based off of the anime, as in the actual pokemon used by Ash and whoever else throughout the series. I think I had Gengar, Charizard, Donphan, Tyranitar (yes, Tyranitar. Ash had a Larvitar for a short period of time in the anime), and two others which escape me (not pikachu, lol).

But yeah, you get the idea of what I meant by an anime themed team

HAHA who did you use?

Heh, in my Seinfeld team I used:

J. Peterman --> Roserade
Elaine Benes --> Mismagius
George Costanza --> Dunsparce
Kramer ---------> Sudowoodo
Newman ------> Snorlax
Jerry Seinfeld ---> Mr.Mime

Haha, crappy team, but if someone lost to it, they should be crying in humiliation. :)

And, for Gravity!
Here, here! I have a GravityStorm team. 5 of my Pokés are immune to sandstorm (one being TTar), 2 of them have STAB EQ and a low-accuracy attack, another one with just STAB EQ, 2 with low-accuracy attacks and no EQ, and 2 with Gravity. It's a fucking killer team. The only thing that sort of sticks out is Blissey with no ground moves, low-acc moves, or sandstorm immune... But she has gravity, so she's awesome support.

This is the team I ALWAYS use on Shoddy. My record is in something of a 2:1 win:loss ratio. I need to make new teams I guess, but I simply lack the time.

so far I run a SandStorm team on shoddy and it's doing pretty well with a record of 10-4 so far needs a lot of improvement I know but I don't have the luxury of time to actually think of improvements right now so oh well.........

I fought a hailstorm team once and my TTar slaughtered everything with stone edge+crunch but I'm guessing the guy I fought with must have not been very good.

Honestly I'd give a medal to anyone who even gets past that walrein.

seriously, holy crap i hate that walrein. once i saw it get the sub up, i knew it was over..

i have a harry potter theme ss team. (although it's more on the beasts in harry potter and less on the people)

Skarmory -- Fawkes (yes, i know, moltres would be better..)
Tyranitar -- Basilisk
Staryu -- Grindylow (tentacruel would be better, but oh well)
Garchomp -- Chimaera
Dusknoir -- The Baron (as in the bloody baron)
Registeel -- Hagrid (heh...)

heh yeah the hp theme was really an afterthought once i had my pokes. originally i had a manticore (Metagross) over Registeel, but Regi is better for my team in the end.

The biggest problem in making theme teams like Harry Potter or Seinfeld is that the pokemon that would look great togheter to fit the theme are in different tiers.

Honestly I'd give a medal to anyone who even gets past that walrein.

When's that medal coming??

Anyway I normally run a stalling Sandstream team which does really well, and I used to run a successful Trick Room team back when shoddy was young

Agoston:The different tiers of pokemon aren't really a problem as when you play the standard metagame all tiers except UBERs are allowed. Anyways you still owe me a medal for getting past that Walrein.

Ok I made a yugioh themed team which is about final battle. rayquaza regigas alakazam mr mime gardevoir and ho-oh but didnt workout.
