Inheritance [Prime Council Elected]

Confirming that Illegalities were indeed taken into account when it was OmOTM. It's what made teambuilding harder because in standard, it doesn't really matter but in an OM sometimes you do want those cheeky moves.

I've made an Inheritance team, but finding battles on Aqua is a real pain (why don't more people go there?). I'm using the OU Inheritance. Could someone give me a match please?

Because I want this to win again even though it's trailing in second place, I'm going to bump this thread with some sets I came up with since it lost its ladder to increase visibility.

Escavalier @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- U-turn
- Iron Tail
- Knock Off
- Superpower

Bulky, slow U-turner that gets STAB and works really with with Regenvest. You can invest more in defense if you want a better pivot, but this thing can take hits, hit hard, and give free switches to frail sweepers.

Tangrowth @ Leftovers
Ability: Simple
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Roost
- Giga Drain
- Heat Wave

Change the coverage at your leisure, but this thing looks like a threat. It won't win any awards for Speed, but with maximum physical bulk and the potential for instant +2/+2 in your uninvested stats, I could see it being very hard to take down thanks to instant, passive, and offensive recovery. Plus, Tangrowth's inherent physical bulk pretty much makes it the best choice for a set like this.

Cofagrigus @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Roost
- Super Fang
- Shadow Ball
- Toxic

I ran a similar set with Umbreon when this was a ladder (Knock Off over Shadow Ball) to fairly good success. Swoobat is super underrated as a donor (see the set above as well) and Super Fang + Toxic will whittle down what Shadow Ball can't touch. Sadly loses to Shell Smash Mega Gyarados, but what doesn't?

Tyranitar @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Strong Jaw
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Crunch
- Head Smash
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang

Rock Head is another option for great longevity but Strong Jaw gives you the strongest Crunch of all time. A Band set looks promising as well.

Landorus-Therian @ Leftovers
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Brave Bird
- Earthquake
- Swords Dance
- Protect

Oh no, Gale Wings is gone! What do you do against this monster, though?

Garchomp @ Life Orb/Yache Berry/Leftovers
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Fire Punch
- Gravity
- Taunt/Stealth Rock/Thunder Wave

A more offensive version of the old trapper Zygarde set I came up with. Basically the idea is to get rid of Heatran or another Steel for an E-speed/Ate-speed user/Gale Wings user (RIP) to clean up. Ground/Fire covers both your bases and Gravity negates Levitate. The last move is up to preference. Advantages over Zygarde are being useful outside of trapping and having real offensive pressure, downsides are that you pretty much need a free switch if you don't want to to take a chunk from offensive Steels. Pairs well with the first Escavalier set I posted, which lures Heatran and U-turns out.

So yeah, vote for this and not wannabe Monotype (or you can vote Gods and Followers)

A pretty cool donor for Bird Jesus is Tornadus. It gives it access to both Prankster and Regen pre-mega (Prankster lets it take advantage of moves like Taunt and Tailwind; Regen is Regen and means that it can u-turn out of stuff which it forces out pre-mega to heal off any SR/switch-in damage), retains access to Hurricane, U-Turn and Heat Wave and gains access to moves like Focus Miss (which won't ever miss), Psychic, Sludge Wave, Dark Pulse, Grass Knot and Icy Wind at the cost of Roost. This gives it a whole lot more utility and usefulness than what it had before. I'm just gonna list a set which works well for both abilities.

BIRD JESUS (Pidgeot) @ Pidgeotite
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hurricane
- Focus Blast
- U-turn
- Taunt / Tailwind

BIRD JESUS (Pidgeot) @ Pidgeotite
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hurricane
- Focus Blast
- U-turn
- Dark Pulse / Grass Knot / Icy Wind

For Mega Pidgeot, you want to keep Hurricane as that's M-Pidgeot's USP. So let's see who gets Hurricane:

Articuno: Unless you really want Freeze Dry look elsewhere
Moltres: You also get Fire Blast and Will-O-Wisp. Not bad, but outclassed
Dragonite: Focus Blast, Fire Blast, Blizzard, Thunder and Multiscale pre mega. One of the best if you want an all out attacker
Shiftry: You also get Nasty Plot and Focus Blast. Pretty good
Pelliper: ...just no
Castform: Much the same as Dragonite but without Focus Blast and Roost and with Hydro Pump instead. Still a solid choice
Whimsicott: You also get Taunt, Encore and a No Guard Grasswhistle. Can run a cool double status set, and no Grass type will enjoy taking a STAB Hurricane to the face so it's unlikely they'll switch in
Swanna: ...even worse than Pelliper
Volcarona: You get Fire Blast and the amazing Quiver Dance. A great boosting sweeper
Tornadus-T: You get Focus Blast as well as Taunt, not bad but again outclassed
Vivillion: Stun Spore and Sleep Powder added to the mix. A good middle ground between Whimsicott and Volcarona
Noivern: STAB BOOMBURST!!
Yveltal: You get Oblivion Wing as well to heal yourself. Decent choice
Mewtwo: Yes Mewtwo gets Hurricane via an event. Calm Mind, Focus Blast, Thunder, Blizzard, Will-O-Wisp...yeah Mewtwo's amazing

Some sets:

All out attacker
Pidgeot @ Pidgeottite
Ability: Multiscale / Frisk
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
Hurricane
Focus Blast
Thunder / Boomburst
Roost

Inherits from either Dragonite or Noivern. Hurricane for STAB, Focus Blast for coverage, and either Thunder for more coverage (Dragonite) or Boomburst for a super powerful STAB (Noivern). Roost keeps you healthy. Castform could be a notable donor as well.

Double Status
Pidgeot @ Pidgeottite
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
Hurricane
Grasswhistle
Stun Spore
U-turn / Taunt

Inherits from Whimsicott. Hurricane is the obvious STAB; Grasswhistle puts an opponent out of commission; Stun Spore can cripple faster Pokémon. In the last slot you can use either U-turn to scout or Taunt to cripple opposing walls.

Boosting sweeper
Pidgeot @ Pidgeottite
Ability: Insomnia / Early Bird
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
Nasty Plot / Calm Mind
Hurricane
Focus Blast
Recovery move / Thunder / Taunt

Inherits from either Mewtwo or Shiftry, depending on whether you prefer the instant power of Nasty Plot or Mewtwo's superior movepool. Hurricane is the STAB move. Focus Blast gets great coverage with it, and greatly benefits from No Guard. In the final slot you could use a recovery move (Recover for Mewtwo; Synthesis for Shiftry), Thunder for some more coverage (Mewtwo only) or Taunt to cripple opposing walls.

Offensive Quiver Dance
Pidgeot @ Pidgeottite
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature / Modest Nature
Quiver Dance
Hurricane
Fire Blast
Giga Drain / Will-O-Wisp

Inherits from Volcarona, late game this set is lethal. Boost with Quiver Dance, smash everything that doesn't resist Flying with Hurricane. Fire Blast hits the Steel types that resist Hurricane. Giga Drain hits Rotom-W and Rock types hard; Will-O-Wisp can be used to cripple physical attackers.

Mono Quiver Dance
Pidgeot @ Pidgeottite
Ability: Compoundeyes
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
Quiver Dance
Hurricane
Roost
Sleep Powder

A bulkier version of the set above. Anything you can't KO, cripple with Sleep Powder.

Mono Quiver Dance
Pidgeot @ Pidgeottite
Ability: Compoundeyes
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
Quiver Dance
Hurricane
Roost
Sleep Powder

A bulkier version of the set above. Anything you can't KO, cripple with Sleep Powder.
Wouldn't Shield Dust be better to stop random secondary effects?

Yeah that would be better, although you're still going to be mega'ing immediately anyway as regular Pidgeot is terrible.

Hoping this wins OM of the month in November, a few more sets I thought of:

Tyranitar @ Life Orb
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 180 HP / 252 Atk / 76 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Rock Slide
- Crunch
- Sucker Punch

Inherits from Mawile. Swords Dance takes your Attack up to an epic 806. Rock Slide and Crunch get STAB and a Sheer Force boost. Sucker Punch also gets STAB and priority, although it doesn't get a Sheer Force boost. EVs let you outurn 0 speed Skarmory. This set destroys worlds at +2.

Slowbro @ Slowbronite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 Spe
Modest Nature
- Cosmic Power
- Scald
- Psyshock / Rest
- Recover / Sleep Talk

Inherits from Starmie, this set is insanely hard to take down. Of course you could also use this if you want a bulky sweeper...

Cresselia @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Psyshock / Stored Power
- Moonblast / Focus Blast / Flamethrower
- Soft-boiled

Inherits from Clefable. Magic Guard negates passive damage.

Ampharos @ Ampharosite
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA
IVs: 0 Spe
Quiet Nature
- Trick Room
- Spacial Rend
- Thunderbolt
- Fire Blast / Earth Power

Inherits from Palkia. Designed to clear up late game, Thunderbolt and Spacial Rend get STAB. Choose between Fire Blast or Earth Power as coverage.

Standard Unaware Suicune hard walls this. The standard TTar set inheriting from Mega Lucario or Crawdaunt looks much better.

Slowbro @ Slowbronite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 Spe
Modest Nature
- Cosmic Power
- Scald
- Psyshock / Rest
- Recover / Sleep Talk

Inherits from Starmie, this set is insanely hard to take down. Of course you could also use this if you want a bulky sweeper...
Can't really do much to walls with recovery, and is taunt bait.

Cresselia @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Psyshock / Stored Power
- Moonblast / Focus Blast / Flamethrower
- Soft-boiled

Inherits from Clefable. Magic Guard negates passive damage.
Inheriting from Xatu lets you get Magic Bounce (which is overall a better ability) and keep everything except Moonblast and Flamethrower. Inheriting from Clefable I can see if you hate Scald burns, though.

Ampharos @ Ampharosite
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA
IVs: 0 Spe
Quiet Nature
- Trick Room
- Spacial Rend
- Thunderbolt
- Fire Blast / Earth Power

Inherits from Palkia. Designed to clear up late game, Thunderbolt and Spacial Rend get STAB. Choose between Fire Blast or Earth Power as coverage.

Actually, this is perfectly fine. Not sure how viable Trick Room is in the current meta, though.

Standard Unaware Suicune hard walls this. The standard TTar set inheriting from Mega Lucario or Crawdaunt looks much better.

I wanted Sucker Punch, and neither Crawdaunt nor Lucario gives that. It's supposed to be a late game cleaner, so Suicune should've been weakened / removed by teammates.

Inheriting from Xatu lets you get Magic Bounce (which is overall a better ability) and keep everything except Moonblast and Flamethrower. Inheriting from Clefable I can see if you hate Scald burns, though.

I underestimated Xatu's movepool - I forgot that it had Heat Wave and Dazzling Gleam, so yeah that would be better.

Actually, this is perfectly fine. Not sure how viable Trick Room is in the current meta, though.

Full Trick Room teams aren't very good, but individual users are fine. The only priority moves Mega Ampharos is weak to are Ice Shard and Refrigerate Extreme Speed, and Life Orb Mamoswine only has a tiny chance to 2HKO if hazards aren't down: 252 Atk Life Orb Mamoswine Ice Shard vs. 252 HP/4 Def Mega Ampharos: 164 - 195 (42.7 - 50.8%) -- 2% chance to 2HKO.

Camerupt @ Cameruptite
Ability: Synchronise
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA
IVs: 0 Spe
Quiet Nature
Trick Room
Fire Blast
Earth Power
Energy Ball / Thunderbolt

Inherits from Mew. 427 Special Attack, base 20 Speed and Sheer Force, in a Trick Room Mega Camerupt is lethal. Just make sure the Aqua Jet users are down first. Fire Blast and Earth Power get STAB and a Sheer Force boost. Energy Ball is used to hit bulky Water types hard. Thunderbolt could be used instead to hit the likes of Gyarados harder. If you've used Mew elsewhere, Dialga can also donate this set although you'll have to forgo Energy Ball.

Another set which I've found quite fun:

Landorus-Therian @ Lum Berry / Yache Berry / Life Orb
Ability: Aerilate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature / Adamant Nature
Dragon Dance
Return
Earthquake
Stone Edge / Roost

Inherits from Mega Salamence. After Dragon Dance you outrun just about everything without a Choice Scarf. Thanks to Aerilate Return is a STAB move with 132 power. Earthquake hits the Rock, Steel and Electric types that resist it. Stone Edge OHKOes Zapdos at +1; Roost can be used to keep Landorus healthy.

Crawdaunt actually does provide Swords Dance, Rock Slide, Crunch AND Sucker Punch. So Crawdaunt does everything Mawile does but also boosts the power of sucker punch, the only downside of course is that you take recoil from LO.
Those other sets look pretty cool, I especially love that Mega Camel set with TR.

Actually Crawdaunt doesn't provide Sucker Punch. However...

Tyranitar @ Life Orb/Leftovers/Dread Plate
Ability: Dry Skin/Magic Bounce
EVs: 180 HP / 252 Atk / 76 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Stone Edge
- Knock Off

- Sucker Punch

Inherits from Toxicroak or Mega Absol. Dry Skin provides a Water immunity, which removes its Water weakness and allows it to beat Suicune and other bulky waters. Meanwhile, Magic Bounce allows it to take on status easily, without having to fear being phazed. It's not weaker than a Sheer Force variant either.

Heatran looks like it'll be another impressive Pokémon in this metagame due to its well placed stats it can run offensive or defensive sets equally well.

Heatran @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Desolate Land
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Eruption
- Fire Blast
- Solar Beam
- Thunderbolt / Earth Power

Inherits from Primal Groudon. STAB Eruption in Sun really, really hurts. Fire Blast is used when your health gets too low for Eruption. Solar Beam hits the Rock and Water types that resist your STAB. Thunderbolt also gets a hit on said Water types; Earth Power hits opposing Fire types. EVs maximise Speed and power.

Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Flamethrower
- Morning Sun
- Toxic / Earth Power

Inherits from Solrock. Stealth Rock is the main move on this set, helping Heatran's team. Flamethrower is a reliable STAB move. Morning Sun gives you reliable recovery. Toxic cripples a would be counter (you also don't have to worry about Magic Bounce since Heatran's immune to Poison); Earth Power can be used to hit opposing Fire types and Rock types. EVs maximise physical bulk, but if you'd rather have a special wall you can move it into SDef and use a Calm nature.

Heatran @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 Spe
Modest Nature
- Fire Blast
- Energy Ball
- Soft-boiled
- Focus Blast / Ice Beam / Toxic

Inherits from Clefable. Can't decide between offensive and defensive Heatran? Why not have both? With this set you've got a Heatran that can take just as much punishment as it can dish out. Fire Blast gets STAB, 2HKOing most things that don't resist it/aren't called Chansey. Energy Ball hits the Rock and Water types that resist Fire Blast super effectively. Soft-boiled restores Heatran's HP, letting it fire off powerful attacks for a long time. Focus Blast wrecks Tyranitar and 2HKOes opposing Heatran. Ice Beam can be used to hit Dragon types hard; Toxic cripples a would be wall. EVs maximise bulk and power. Magic Guard lets you use a Life Orb with no recoil. You could also inherit from Nidoking and use Sheer Force, but you will have to give up Energy Ball and Soft-boiled.

Cresselia @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Psyshock / Stored Power
- Moonblast / Focus Blast / Flamethrower
- Soft-boiled

Inherits from Clefable. Magic Guard negates passive damage.
Wouldn't Ice Beam be better than Moonblast as it hits everything that Moonblast hits while scoring a stronger hit on Lando, Mence, Chomper etc.

Pyroar @ Choice Specs
Ability: Scrappy
EVs: 252 SpA / 208 Spe / 48 Def
Timid Nature
-Boomburst
-Heat Wave
-Hidden Power Fighting
-U-Turn

Inherits from Swellow. Two low-tier mons working together to form a formidable offensive powerhouse. Max Speed is recommended for Modest - the investment above is enough to outspeed base 100s. 252 SpA / 224 Spe / 32 Def with a Timid nature outspeeds Garchomp as well.

You'd be better off using either Flygon or Exploud as donors for that set, as Flygon gives you Earth Power and Fire Blast as well as negating your Ground weakness, while Exploud gives you a better movepool in general (although you do have to sacrifice U-turn).

Raikou @ Life Orb / Lum Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
Nasty Plot
Thunderbolt
Ice Beam / Energy Ball / Psychic
Fire Blast / Taunt

Inherits from Azelf. Levitate removes Raikou's only weakness. Thunderbolt gets STAB, and wrecks anything not resisting it at +2. After Nasty Plot and Thunderbolt just pick whatever moves you wan depeedning on what you want to hit. EVs maximise Speed and power

Scrappy is the one thing that makes Swellow stand out - it means your Boomburst is even more spammable.

Exploud also gives you Scrappy, as well as Fire Blast, Focus Blast, Ice Beam, Surf and Taunt. If you want a Boomburst spammer you should use Exploud, Flygon or Noivern as your donor. Swellow's not bad, but it just doesn't give you as much as the others.

Eelektross is actually a great donor for other Electric types - it gives them Levitate and a great movepool.

Magnezone @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
Volt Switch
Flash Cannon
Giga Drain
Thunderbolt / Flamethrower

Electric/Steel with levitate is great defensive typing, sporting 11 resistances and 2 immunities. Volt Switch lets you act as a bulky pivot. Flash Cannon is a strong reliable STAB. Giga Drain recovers Magnezone's HP and hits bulky Ground types hard. Thunderbolt can be used if you need a strong STAB; Flamethrower can hit the likes of Ferrothorn harder.

Rotom-Frost @ Lum Berry
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 48 HP / 252 SpA / 208 Spe
Modest Nature
Agility
Nasty Plot
Thunderbolt
Ice Beam

The red headed stepchild of the Rotom family, finally given a chance to shine with Porygon-Z's genes. STAB BoltBeam is brilliant, and with Adaptability on top of that...wow. Agility gives you enough Speed with this EV spread to outrun Scarf Terrakion at +2. Nasty Plot lets you wreck defensive teams. If you get both boosts, you'll be near enough unstoppable. Thunderbolt and Ice Beam get STAB and fantastic neutral coverage together, and with Adaptability both are as powerful as a STAB Focus Blast.

EVs: 180 HP / 252 Atk / 76 Spe

Continuing on the Tyranitrain, I really love to use Bisharpitar, punish defoggers and get a free boost oppurtunities, even though it's probably outclassed.

If we're on the Tyranitrain, I thought about this set:

Tyranitar @ White Herb
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Shell Smash
- Stone Edge
- Knock Off
- Earthquake / Zen Headbutt / Aqua Tail

Inherits from Carracosta, this set is designed to sweep late game. Shell Smash gives you Swords Dance, Nasty Plot and Rock Polish all in one go and thanks to White Herb has no stat penalties. Stone Edge and Knock Off get STAB, Earthquake completes the EdgeQuake combo. You could also run Zen Headbutt if you're worried about Fighting types, or Aqua Tail to OHKO defensive Landorus-T at +2. EVs maximise Speed and power. Solid Rock makes priority moves less dangerous - you can survive a Pixilate Extreme Speed from Mega Altaria quite easily:

252+ Atk Pixilate Mega Altaria Extreme Speed vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Solid Rock Tyranitar: 229-270 (67.1 - 79.1%)

I'd use Ice Beam instead of Earthquake honestly. It helps more with its counters such as Hippo and Chesnaught.

You have to run a Life Orb to guarantee the OHKO on Physically defensive Poison Heal Hippowdon and run a Naughty nature, both of which undermines Tyranitar's bulk (without a White Herb M-Altaria's Extreme Speed will OHKO). It comes down to risk vs reward I guess.
